David Armstrong called for a boycott by the fans last night

I still go with an idea I posted ages ago.... You guys have PAID for your tickets so why would you want to stand outside, also how many others that have paid hard earned money would want to join. The answer is easier and avoids the "I paid for this argument" When the teams come out onto the pitch EVERY saints fan turns and stands with their back to the pitch and sings OWTS. It is simple, you show your support for the team and the club but you make a VERY visible point and what is more you will be able to ask people around you POLITELY to make their own simple protest without affecting the players. ONCE the whistle goes you can turn round and roar the team on. -
Oh good, we can send him back on Tuesday then.... because by then that will be JP's new job
-
FWIW and to give a comedy value to the days gloom. My mate who was sitting close to the Directors Box saw Fulthorpe & the other one in Hostility Reception. Apparently Fulof button-holed Cowan before the game and said - just you wait until Wednesday, we'll be in charge then.... No proof at my side ITK-wise, but it came back in a really depressing phone call after the game
-
Yesterday really made their life very difficult (as if it wasn't already). because IMHO Rupert & Wilde are on the back foot there really is no way they can do anything with JP UNTIL they have a replcaement "rabbit out the hat" because ANYTHING they do will just make the unrest WORSE, let alone the issues with the finances. What a goddamn mess
-
Ooh is there now an Open University Course in how to NOT manage a Football club? :yawinkle: To be pedantic SLH is now dead, what is open for discussion is how we now get a new SFC to rise out of the ashes Good luck with your plans but stay legal or you just give THEM ammunition, THAT is more important than anything else - THEY have problems, could even say they are on the run, don't give them ANY chance to regroup
-
Some posted that way before mind.... But no, no real Saints fan wants that. We just want the whole bloody mess gone and just go back to being a normal punching above our weight football club
-
Fundamental flaw in the OP Kleber came to keep a (potentially) good player happy..... Pulis came to keep Mum & Dad happy............ Oh Yikes they really must have wanted to kick him out the house
-
Well we already have the "is AP the new Kleber Chala thread" so I guess this should be renamed is Gasmi the new Imant Bleidelis Thread. Maybe he is here to keep Morgan happy... On a more positive note (fook me where did I find one of those from) all the rumours indicate that Georges Prost recommended him.... So maybe he would like a caretakers manager job? As he obviously still has contact with the club..... I mean Jeez, if the kids can't play for HIM after all he did with them in the past (oops that sounds bad) the we can dump the lot of them Sorry depressed and too many beers hoping Spuds V Poopey would see 8 players sent off on each side and managers suspended for ever
-
22 starts now and Bale STILL hasn't been on the winning side lol keep picking him Harry! meanwhile any news on Pav wotsits injury - on our commentary here there was a hell of a crack when he was tackled sounded awful
-
FWIW judging by the thread about Cowen, I THINK employees at the club have got the message. You have 3 weeks to think all this through carefully to come up with an EFFECTIVE plan. IMHO maybe it won't be necessary but it won't happen tonight or even tomorrow morning, Wilde ran away & Rupert was at a party, think it is more important that those two have a LONG phone conversation very quickly
-
I agree with the OP, it is sadly time. It also makes Rupert's position impossible. On that basis and that alone I think it will be at least a week before anything changes, simply because the replacement must 1) Be the right man, with EXPERIENCE, that means behind the scenes discussions (ie interviews) because whatever ELSE happens the squad can't be left alone for one or two weeks in limbo 2) Be a man that will at least ease some of the discontent (it won't stop it until Lowe goes) 3) Will have to be financially supported somehow EITHER by new money OR the sale of a player (or two) Like I said before on another post, we may as well hang on to the rage, get a few rants out and then log back in here in a week or so. Unless of course JP wants to be able to keep some form of coaching career back in non-League football in Holland in which case he needs to do the honourable thing. Unfortunately I expect seeing as he is not on a big wage and he paid up his old contract, he may not be able to AFFORD to resign.
-
Relax. PR firms don't answer their phones on a Sunday.. Won't see any until mid morning tomorrow assuming Lowe isn't up to his ankles baiting hooks in Scotland.....
-
If he is still there when we get relegated do you think anybody will still be left around interested enough to notice? That's the problem with depression, once it sets in you need to change many things to get back, it no longer becomes simply mind games, it needs a lot more than that. Time for somebody in charge of the team who actually knows what they are doing and has seen all this sort of thing before
-
phew, only have to change one word from my pre season view... Oh I'm nervous and excited as hell about the new season, it just could, maybe possibly work. Or it could just break our hearts again. Don't you LOVE football! Should now read Don't you HATE football. Well done JP nice try, today would be a good time to offer to step down and continue to be head coach and BEGGING the powers that be to appoint A MANAGER to tell you where to put the cones in training
-
There is someone around who could at least help keep things together for a few weeks to stop the worst of the bitterness around the club until a better solution is found. But that means shareholders have to stop and think for a minute, not something we have seen too much of late.
-
Appoint a neutral Chairman who understands the position we are in THIS WEEK. Shareholders stay shareholders until they are bought out. Move heaven and earth to find buyers First two are simple, 3rd one is more tricky
-
That was my thinking but I'm coming round to the fact that I don't think Rooney or Ronaldo would get more than 15 goals this season. The rest of it sounds so broken. If as some say Lowe is on holiday then it will take at least a week for the dust to settle and anything to happen. Think it's gonna be log off time or find the Samaritans until then
-
Hoddle won't be coming back, he's had a load of offers which he's turned down and just borrowed a heap of money to set up his academy in Spain. You can bet your life that they will have him tied to a contract that would cost HIM in the order of millions to get out. Just google the Newsbeat and other stories about it. It's as likely to happen as JP taking us to the playoffs this year. Sorry but.
-
Quite a lot actually As a specific example, there are a lot of ex PL players who became managers and who have a wealth of experience at all levels and who don't have a job these days. Those people would love ANY job back in football on a fixed term contract to "prove" themselves. They have experience and they are motivated and would work for around 50k for a year to get "back in the game" As fans we may not WANT them, but for a squad made up of youngsters they could well have been exactly what we needed to help guide them and possibly young coaches this season. I had a very pleasant dinner with an ex manager who went into this in some detail and followed the same when I talked to another ex manager just before Christmas. What the kids needed at the start of the season was experience. It COULD have been done on the cheap, it wasn't, sounds like we are seeing the fruits of that poor decision now.

Well FWIW a call from a mate who was in very close proximity to the Directors box, It appears that Wilde left 35 minutes before the end not 15 and received a lot of abuse even from those in the box. Andrew's reaction was one of horror and he was also upset that he was getting abuse from the fans. Seems like the sentiments you heard were probably from the heart JM, possibly from the series of events - somehow from this it could suggest that the relationship there appears not all well - and my mate says Andrew was really upset by everything that went on. Don't shoot the messenger, just reporting a skype call
-
Easy answer, he's done all he can up there and it's time for his sabbatical, he lives down here, and likes shopping in his local Tesco's. Just need Rupert to go and then WGS can come back. Piece of cake, problem solved
-
Interesting OP, if it was Andrew then things are changing very quickly. If it wasn't him then he's probably been dropped in the sh8t by the "allegations" in this thread, which is a shame, as although he is tarred with the Lowe brush, on the couple of occassions I have come into contact with him he's actually a good guy More repurcussions no doubt of a very bad day
