Think this is now dead in the water Col. Everyone has been out shopping today and will all be wearing Lambert 20 England shirts in Protest instead -
When and where would the CB40 final be? Out of interest?

Don't worry about catching up on IT skills Sue, but now you're having to use a Zimmerframe to get up to the half-way line you really should take up a proper sport like golf. I'm sure a woman of your calibre would enjoy getting a few holes in on a late Autumn afternoon

Turkish. Enough of this mate. If you HAVE to post this stuff then at LEAST be accurate. You missed out Airbrushing

If the stand is mainly used by Bankers, can we have a word with the Architects and have the windows open up UNDER the river? With doors that can only be opened from outside?

OK back to the match last night. 5 Official Dubai Saints had dragged mates down the puib so we had about 12 of us. None of us were that bothered by the game itself and tbf were not that interested in it as it may have been passionate but it was as Mrs D_P said - a bit like watching us play a rubbish team like Wigan at home... Being a busy bar we had no Commentary, game was on about 6 screens. SRL comes on we gave out a really good roar and actually got a lot of "smiles" from the rest of the pub. Then that corner comes in.... A Bullet header hits the net and there was about 5 HOURS of slow motion silence... We are all staring at the screen. We are looking to see who it is that is pulling away to celebrate. Everyone of us had time to say to our selves OMG let that have been Rickie. We even seemed to have time to look at the Ref and the Lino to see if there had been a foul or something and then the close-up We are leaping around like demented rabbits. Our mates are standing their Cheering and laughing and saying OMG it's really happened, OMG. Others in the Pub have stood up at their tables all looking at us and at the telly, huge grins oin their faces, hands in the air and clapping, even their Girlfriends are looking up in understanding. And then the Noisy Drunken Jocks - Their shoulders at first slumped, look up turn round and come over and say, well done, what a good moment for football. You jammy B*stds... Today the Boss phones me up and talks bloody football & Rickie Lambert (He's a Yank FFS!) Back to earth with a bang then on Saturday when DM tells us all what Rickie doesn't want to do now........... Even now still got a tear in my eye and a grin on my face

Well, if I was Osvaldo, I'd be heading for the hills right now. No way I'd join a club where I had to fight for my place against the latest and biggest hero in English Football in World Cup Year.

Last Friday went to karaoke & I was a bit the worse for wear. Before murdering the Monkees I gave a rendition of the SRL song but with the ending Rickie Lambert England's Goal Machine. It raised a couple of chortles. And some wtf's? Tonight I've already had 12 texts from mates here in Dubai who support other teams asking for the lyrics. Rickie Lambert Thank you for a magical moment. You deserve many more, the whole of England know it now.

No. They showed it here about 20 times at the end of the game and BOY it was amazing EVERY time. FFS, deep down as Saints fans we knew he had the ability to score for England, we've seen him rise to every challenge. We dreamt he'd come on and score the winner, but we knew deep down that God doesn't work that way, only Hollywood. But then he goes and farking DOES it? Absolutely MENTAL here in the Pub. Everyone knew @dubaisaints weren't bothered by the game but wanted to see SRL come on and when we went nuts the whole place just turned and grinned. There were about a dozen p1ssed up Jocks in the place, who equally went mental when their Kenny Miller story started to be written. But, and here's the weird thing. When a saddened drunken Jock, comes up to you after a game they have just lost and buys you a beer, you KNOW something special just happened. And that was it. A pat on the back, a well done, and AMAZINGLY "That was good for Football" as their parting words. I got sh1t earlier in the thread because I had a tear in my eye when he actually got the call up. Don't think I was the only one tonight. Oh and how great it was on our TV coverage that the camera panned to the crowd to show some tiny little kid being held aloft by his Dad...... wearing last season's Saints shirt. F\/ck me, what a magnificent moment. Thank you Rickie & Thank You Big Man upstairs for letting Hollywood write the script for once. Oh sh1t is THAT the time? oops not a chance of sleeping, just buzzing. #soproudtobeasainttonight God Bless you Rickie Lambert

FFS make your mind up Solent/FA Do I print #20 or 21 on the back of my Shirt for tonight?

Now THAT is the way to start married life. On Honeymoon and drag new wife down the pub to watch a game featuring a possible cameo by a Saints player - love it. Perfect - #trainingday

Perhaps that is the whole point of her. And at 4'10"..................

Listening to Gerrard being interviewed on our local News Radio here he was chirping on about Rooney, looking fit, being in the mood, needing game minutes now to complete his fitness and looking forward to getting a start. Bench by the sound of that, but then hey what does UAE National Radio know?

Wow so now we are making up rumours on here that aren't posted that are then picked up by Twitterers and Tweeted and posted on here as a rumour that gets Tweeted and

Yeah easy mistake to make that one isn't it. Ryanair to Luton or Iberia to Lima (with a change in mainland Spain) No chance to make a phone call or talk to an airport security guard or aircrew staff to ask for help. If anything this tale makes them near misses for the next batch of Darwin Awards. At least they COULD have tried the "Family Member Death Threat Blackmailed" line that is proving unsuccessful in a true case of coercion in Bali. It's not as if airport Check in staff (or online check in) doesn't ask you SECURITY questions about your baggage - Did you pack your bag yourself? In some ways they appear to be more suited to having come from poorsmuff. Hey look at us ain't we cool innit. Oh we's in trouble it aint our fault come and get us out of it we haves rights we's got mates on benefits so government owes us.

Are people more interested in Wednesdays international now?
dubai_phil replied to ozzmeister's topic in The Saints
Think that wasn't Germany, more likely Brazil, but then MLT downed those Malibu's so fast it was a nightmare trying to keep up and remember anything! Must try and dig up the photo of him with the flag for the FB page. Now where the hell did I put THAT? -
That one wasn't rocket science, especially after his TV Interview after the promotion party on the pitch. The issue then was that it seemed to be "incredible" or "unbelievable". Now, one season on, many have now come to accept that things that seem incredible (links with players bound for the WC) may have some truth in them. These threads are for snippets of info or links. History then shows whether those that make them (like Saint Lard above) are t0ssers or have good sources. What hacks everyone off are the "experts in their own minds" who believe their own source is so impeccable that they come back on here and rubbish any other snippet and ruin the threads.

PM's & txt messages normally do the trick. Failing that Eric's Margherita's often work. Sadly not tonight, this was caused by Canada Dry Club Soda's
