Agreed. We were in that corner and he created plenty of space for himself with runs which were routinely ignored by both Ward-Prowse and Davis in favour of an extra touch followed by a 5 yard pass inside to Wanyama. Mings was clearly struggling with fitness in the last 10 minutes and pulled up at one point with slight cramp. Long obviously tried to exploit this and should have got a penalty, however we should have been quicker to attack that side in the final stages.

Post-Match Reaction: SAINTS 1-1 Ipswich Town

Or maybe we won't. I'm sure the highly professional physios, conditioning staff and coaches we have at our disposal will make sure the team is properly prepared for an important, winnable Premier League game. -
I presumed the picture has been lifted from social media. As I said on the other thread the sheer ridiculousness of it made me laugh. Maybe the point was to wear them at Sheff Utd to wind up their fans as that's where I saw one.

Cheers for those links. I'll get on it.

250 games of Schneiderlin: Your favourite Morgan moments?

Big grins all round in the back rows of the away end that night as the goals kept flying in. A few days after the scrappy 1-0 win at Barnsley this was the game when the realisation hit that we are actually going to do quite well in this league. -

"The group said to be Southampton fans" They're holding 2 feck-off big flags with our badge on FFS.

Couldn't help but laugh at that. It's ridiculousness is something to behold. I saw one of those masks at Sheffield Utd.

Very true. I could be wrong but I barely remember him being subbed off even for a few minutes in any game, meaning the only time he's missed was Sheffeld Utd when he was suspended. Seemed to be getting quite frustrated at times today possibly because he thought this game was a chance to notch a goal. Just looked and he's only scored 2 in the last 13. He himself said he hates not scoring so it must be playing on his mind. Maybe a rest would help get the sharpness back, problem is I don't see him getting one unless we change tactics or get in another striker. -
The signs are flipped over ones. If you look on google street view they are apparent. The one on the corner of Granville Street is even half flipped in the pictures when none of the others are! https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@50.9019836,-1.3915482,3a,75y,90.58t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1s5IlyLqdFbqDc-EkVmCEHPA!2e0 https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@50.9021286,-1.391696,3a,75y,13.85h,90.58t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1s7jANV1AchOR0u2Lx2EpUeg!2e0

Thanks. The only problem is I don't see how we can prove that. When she came back to find the car missing one of the parking stewards told her it had happened before. I guess it's ultimately their word against hers.
-
I didn't realise she was going to park there, she dropped us off and then went into town. There was never an intent to leave the car there for the duration of the match - she wasn't going to the game and was heading home after going to the shops. Also I have seen cars parking around that area on matchdays before, although it isn't my mormal route in so this may have been last season or before that.

Looks fine to me. I like his style on the ball even if he doesn't sometimes spot runs and holds onto it a fraction too long. Still, rather that than aimless wallops upfield to no one. Strong, good in the air, reasonably quick. Also he's still young for a CB which means as long as he's hungry he's guaranteed to improve.
-
My other half dropped us at St Mary's this morning at 1020, I took the kids to get Saints players autographs while she parked in Granville Street and walked into town. When she left the car there were no signs stating you could not park there but on her return about 1330 it had been towed away. The parking people told her the signs are flipped over to state "no parking" 4 hours before kick off, but because the car was there before that are they still enforceable? She had to pay the fine to get the car back but wants to appeal. Anyone had any similar experiences or know whether it's worth fighting this?

Thought we were by far the best team, just sloppy around their box. As others have said the linesman were bizarre - the foul on Long looked inside the box from my angle. Weird atmosphere. The Ipswich fans were good until we scored and then pretty quiet. From Block 26 I could hear blocks 1&2 giving it a go but not much else. -
Just took the kids down to get autographs. No sign of Schneiderlin but he could have snuck in the front entrance with Pelle to avoid signing anything. Everyone else you'd expect was there.

New series starting on C4 or E4 or one of them in a couple of weeks. The first series made me laugh a hell of a lot. Just started series 3 of Breaking Bad. That's how far behind I am, one day I'll even get round to watching the Sopranos.

No news yet on the results of his scan. Was the injury received during the goal celebrations as he sat down on the pitch just after?

Everton vs West Ham is an indescribably bad choice by BT. I hope it's a 0-0 snoozefest.
-
Benali got quite a bit of stick at times from the crowd. Plenty of fans didn't want him in the team. I thought Bruce Grobbelaar largely got away with being a scapegoat despite letting in goals on purpose.
-
Club captain and long term Southampton stalwart, the much respected and well liked Kelvin Davis was most definitely one.

Maybe the most extreme example I can remember is Iain Dowie's name being booed when announced on the tannoy after scoring. It was fine in the end though, he ran around a lot and fell over to win free kicks and penalties that Matty scored from so people began to like him.
