I think Mitchell dropped off this season. Not sure why but a lot of players do around that age. I saw him for the U23's and he wasn't great, gave the ball away more than he should have done and the things he tried never really came off.

On the face of it this seems a solid appointment. A completely new face with a proven track record who no doubt has something different to bring to the table. Would be interesting to know how far down the pipeline this was before we announced the departure of the other coaches.

Paul Wotton missing 2 penalties in one game deserves a mention. Can't remember if he was terrible for the rest of the match but he was never better than painfully average in any match I saw. Phil Warner against Arsenal is another terrible performance, although a bit unfair because he was young and massively inexperienced up against some world class players.

Just because one keeper we signed at a young age from Man City didn't turn out to be as good as we expected doesn't mean it will be the same again. I'm excited by Bazunu coming here and looking forward to seeing him play.

If we sign Bazunu I can see him being Number 1 after a few months. Henderson will be out of our reach, maybe even Pope too as he'll likely have better offers.

Hopefully for him part of the bonuses didn't include pass completion.

He just quite doesn't do a lot of stuff. Just quite doesn't make a killer pass, or beat a man, or get on the end of a cross. He's not a bad player, it's just that so much stuff he tries nearly works rather than actually working.

International football in general is quite dull. I rarely watch it outside of tournaments where you get the odd exciting game. I have very limited interest in England. Would be different if I went to games but no way I'm spending that much cash on matches and sitting through horrendous friendlies to get enough caps for away games.
