It's obvious to most fans that the squad is limited and injuries robbed us of two key players but the club failed to address the striker issue last summer betting on Long and Rodriguez. They appointed a defensive style manager and with nearly the whole squad underperforming we endured some diabolical home matches. Who can believe next season under Les and Puel it will be any different. If you consistently sell your best players and bring in untried premier league managers one season it will bit you in the arse.

It's got to the stage now I don't ever expect them to score even when it looks like they are in with a chance . I have this zen like calm when Long is bearing down on the goal as I know and the keeper knows he is going to shoot and miss . I wonder if Long and Rodrigez have a bet between them about how long they can go for without scoring Long is now defying the laws of physics kicking a ball towards the goal randomly and it not on at least some ocassions going in Bizarre

No I don't think we ever will. I find it hard to understand how Long & Rodriguez can have been so unable to score this season when in many matches they had countless opportunities. They really have to depart the club. Nathan Redmond and Tadic *****ed and moaned all night and were absolutely ****e. Les has far too much power. The failure to sign a central defender in this window is a failure Les should be held responsible for. Are we really going to a cup final with the limited options at the back we have ? It is painful to watch our strikers in action. Last night Long ballooned the ball over the bar it was dreadful the shot wasn't even on target. Secondly Redmonds shot was close to the keeper and at a comfortable height. Dear Claude is not safe this season. He could lose unluckily tomorrow get tonked by Liverpool and he's definitely in trouble . If uncle Les is unable to sign a striker before the window shuts and yoshi struggles as the replacement it's Claude who will pay the price. Being in the premiership is critical to the club and as uncle les decides on the fate of the manager if we drop down near the relegation zone Claude will be heading back to France

It's virtually impossible to replace key players every summer with new lower cost players who are all going to succeed at their new club.. Every mid table club is looking for those players who are good value with a potential sell on value. I reckon 50% of signings work out at best . As we are seeing it bites you in the backside eventually If you look at the strikers we have and look at their average number of goals per season you wouldn't have to be a rocket scientist to identify we were going to have a problem this season .

You are playing badly if you never score

The point is the stats clearly show we can't score goals and this is confirmed by the number of draws. It wasn't that we were just unlucky tonight it's the fact that Rodriguez has scored 2 Long 0 and thr midfield bugger all. Only a moron would decide we don't need a striker. That moron is Les

It's the results and the number of goals scored and high levels of possession based on sideways passing. Puel took the job you deliver results or even look like it's improving or you go. We will sack him by the next window if we fall down the league It's **** football that ****es off the fans

The stats don't lie. Our inability to score from the chances we do make shows that we lack any incisive strikers. God knows what longs look like . He has been completely ineffective this season. We must be one of the few clubs on the planet who expect that strikers with a poor track record are going to deliver enough goals to keep,us in the top half of the table. Redmond was appalling last night he cannot recognise who to play the ball to in an attacking move. In fact he invariably passed the ball to the opposition. We knew at the start of the season we didn't have a quality striker. We took a risk on Charlie Austin and that has paid off . Rodriguez was a gamble and he has not delivered. He lacks confidence and goodness knows how long he will take to recove that Shane Long has always missed more chances than he takes. Redmond is not a stricker and has not converted to his new role When you blame VVD for not taking his chance you know you don't have a a strike force. The club is entirely to blame for starting the season with Long Austin Redmond & Ridriguez. There was never going to be enough goals in them
