  1. I know he's a bit battered but Wood has put some crunching tackles in today.
  2. Bit of a mis communication between Archer and Stewart, because Archer doesn't speak fucking donkey. How did Ross not score there.
  3. The Archer we bought, shoots on sight there. What have we done to him
  4. Probably due to the whack on the nose Saturday. Had to change his shirt due to bleeding.
  5. I share your frustration but don't hold your breath. The squad is too big and unless they ship out a bunch quickly, there is no room, or time to get replacements in. Unbelievably ABK, Edozie, Smallbone, Aribo, and Taylor are still on the books. They must be 12 to 15 million of wages right there. How inept to allow yourself to get in that position. Mads was a good signing, for the championship, oven ready FB. I just hope they have a few more of those lined up.
  6. Nothing was ever decided in August so no need to panic just yet. Stoke fully deserved that win, better drilled and organised. Felt like the Forest game last year. Martin was absolutely schooled by Nuno, and Robbins did the same yesterday. Why Saints didn't go for him, when he was available is beyond me, he's a good manager. Yesterday just confirmed what we all knew anyway. It is going to be a long hard slog this year with highs and lows. So far the forward line looks totally ineffective, just like last year. At the moment all Still can do is focus on a couple of the strikers and hope they start clicking. Armstrong out wide with Stewart in the middle seems the only feasible option to me, and that isn't brilliant. Archer and BBD have to be sold or loaned to make room for a big signing.
  7. I'll probably be labelled a heretic for this, but I thought Fernandes looked very ordinary today. Really didn't seem on it at all. Downes had a poor game, it is in his DNA to recycle the ball, he just cannot push forward. Wood looked ok , and as others have said, Frazer got stuck in and did his job. 2nd Stoke goal was class, none of our strikers could do that. Deserved win for Stoke but boy do we need some strikers. Downs made so many runs but our players were too busy passing it sideways to notice. Early days no need to panic, just learn and sort it out.
  8. It's a good deal all round really. Decent cash for Saints, bags of potential for Everton, but they've work to do there. Good move for Tyler, he won't be kicked into oblivion, and Moyes is as well placed as anyone to develop him. Good luck to him.
  9. Quarshie has been shaky at the start of games but improved once his nerves went. He needs experience at this level, he'll only get that by playing. We don't want another ABK on our hands. He also brings an extra dimension with his pace and throw ins. If THB gets his act together, which he will, and Still plays Manning, he may be less exposed. Bugger way too many ifs and mays there
  10. Err where did that signing come from. Bit blindsided by that one. https://www.southamptonfc.com/en/news/article/saints-secure-roerslev-signing?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=signing-mads-roerslev&utm_term=news&utm_content=link&fbclid=IwQ0xDSwMUVQ5jbGNrAxRUQGV4dG4DYWVtAjExAAEeFpMkgdah8kYYv-sLeQdfPpt0LTFzdo38xuDMmLfJX-9mePYeGanEzLvr6Js_aem_szC5QbJeyVfGOCHlhPdPmg 94 Premier league games, clearly experienced. Functional signing I guess with KWP gone.
  11. I like that team, but I can't see SR allowing all the family silver to be used. How wonderful if they did. I'd bring in Wood for Quarshie, or possibly THB. He's experienced and takes no shit, and Stoke will throw plenty of that at Saints. I like him as a player we don't seem to have given him much of a chance. I thought Armstrong harassed the life out of Ipswich, probably worth starting with and bring on Dibs when they are tired.
  12. Doubt it, he's a 19 year old lad. Probably wants to hide from all this, I would, goodness knows what it's doing to his mental health. His 'people' will be doing all the agitation, and the club have to sell big somewhere. We seem to have been here so often over the years. Always the same result. Just get it over with.
  13. He came on for 10 minutes, and was immediately surrounded by three defenders, he was hardly going to have much of an opportunity today, but still nice to see him on the pitch. Defenders are very uncomfortable around him, as he is unpredictable. Certainly a mercurial talent. It's all potential and it remains to be seen whether he becomes the player we all want him to be. As Gio says, the horrible uncomfortable truth is that he needs better players around him, and crucially protection from the ref. Lots of ifs in Tyler's world at the moment. I suspect we'll see a different player once things settle down.
  14. Fair result, they'll be pace setters and most will lose points at Portman Rd. Saints went toe to toe and could have won that. Boy that defence needs work.
  15. Evenly matched half, as you would expect. Both defences are a shambles, ours more so. Still has to resolve this quickly, otherwise Ipswich will take control.
  16. He went through 3 defenders after THB Gunter Netser routine. Just ridiculous
  17. What the hell is this ref on, decision after decision against Saints.
  18. I wouldn't dump on Quarshie just yet, early days but Wood looked way more composed on Tuesday. I'd give him the nod at the moment. The problem is Wellington isn't coping with the press and Quarshie simply cannot react quick enough. Plenty of time
  19. He clearly had potential, but that evaporated pretty quickly. Now the arse is sitting on big wages and clearly isn't going to move until he has to. Just pay his contract up and be done with him
  20. That would be good, we can dream, sadly the bollocks I am envisaging is both going and no incomings.
  21. Pretty obvious now why Saints are pushing the Dibling deal. That brings in cash which they can use as serious muscle in the the Championship. Going after a player of Spertsyan's quality, with a rivals key player as a backup is encouraging. If it all ends up as bollocks I shall be ..... irritated.
  22. Ipswich not exactly brushing Bromley aside. Behind on Pens atm .
