As other teams have found out, Wrexham are a handful. Nothing sophisticated just physical direct Football, but Saints are 3 1 up and handling it as well as anybody
-
Right eyes on Middlesbrough's GD of 21 against our current 17. With things so tight that could be important.

Brilliant goal from Larin
-
This ref needs to get his cards out, foul after foul from Wrexham

I know there is some PTSD on this board from last year, and it's hard to believe Saints are where they are, but for goodness sake let's have some belief. They are just a direct bunch of bullies. Deal with it and start dictating the pace of the game. Larin and Edozie aren't terrible, but there are better replacements on the bench. Maybe Nathan Wood on to mark Moore, but I'd also be wary of making too many changes. I'm sure Tonda has a plan.

They've got sloppy in the last 10 mins. Keep it simple and pile on the pressure. More goals in this game. 100% that was a foul but Matsuki was offside so balanced out. Wrexham were never going to just roll over

So far so good, get control of the game and peg them back. Surprised Azaz missed that he's usually spot on Matuzki scores yesssss

Well we'd have to beat City at some point and I'd prefer them over Chelsea. Just have a good day out

I have no voice this morning, but wrecked. 60 years of supporting Saints and that game was right up there. Quite subdued in the concourse beforehand, I guess we were anticipating a bit of mauling. 2 minutes in and the crowd just exploded with noise, as Fellows skinned his defender, and we realised that Saints were going to go for it. You could feel the belief cascading from the stands and no doubt the players felt that too. No hanging on yesterday, that was a comprehensive win, and needs to be savoured. Right up there with beating Liverpool 4 1, the classic 6 3 humiliation of Utd, and of course 1976. I thought Bragg, Manning and Wood had great games, but for me Finn Azaz was imperious in midfield. He constantly broke up their attacks and set up our forwards. What an important player he is now. Better start saving for Wembley trip(s). The only negative is that the game was on BBC1 at prime time. there is no hiding Tonda now. A lot of eyes will be on him.

Agree with post, and they definitely need to get on the front foot more. Having said that, Saints had the best chances they just didn't finish. That's been the issue all season, the inability to convert chances into goals, has really dragged us down. They've been on fire in a few matches, but most games it has been a grind. As you say credit where credit is due, it's working.

Fabulous win, the players were running on empty but kept going. Norwich were desperate for the win, and threw everything at Saints. I thought they absorbed it well. Tonda is clearly big on game management. Doesn't do my nerves any good, but it worked. Winning ugly is sometimes essential. Oxford will be a test, they'll come to frustrate. It will be interesting to see if Saints have the energy and creativity to overcome that. Good to have Peretz behind the defence, I thought Jander looked out of sorts, Bragg is the better option imo, he looks so assured. Azaz MoTM for me, he put a real shift.

Watford winning takes the pressure off a bit. Whilst we want a win, even a draw moves us closer. The play offs are a party we are definitely not invited to, we're currently sitting on the wall outside with a bottle of white lightening. Someone is going to drop their guard soon and we are in, ready to cause havoc 😀

Stellar decision to let him go

Another two for Ballard tonight ..... 20 goals in 30 matches .

Only once has more than 75 points been required (Fulham needed 80 in 2017). 6 wins from 9 for Saints, should be enough. There will be losses, it's inevitable, and that's going to lead to some serious knee wobbling from Saints fans. This time 2 years ago Saints had 73 points, way more comfortable. Do we, and more importantly the players, have the mental strength to cope.

The number of home games is a bonus. Gives Saints a small edge. Max possible points for Saints is 84. Middlesbrough, Ipswich and Millwall only need 5 wins and a draw to match that. One at least will manage that so autos aren't realistic. Although if Saints keep the pressure up it may unnerve them Playoffs are looking good. As others have said 75 points should be enough.

What a brilliant game, credit to both sides. Saints bossed that midfield and deserved the win. Warriors all of them, onward and upward
-
This was never going to be easy ws it
-
Unfortunate caught his foot
-
Coventry won't give a shit about GD , they'll throw everything at Saints now.
-
Archer should occupy them but wrong to take off Bragg. Bet Downes is over run now
-
Coventry stepping it up now, Jander is the weakest player, seems a bit behind the play. Time for Charles maybe
-
Manning time
-
Goal from Downes, excellent

I've wanted three in midfield all season, and at last we have it. Saints look so much more balanced set up like this. However up front it's all a bit tame . Need Edozie on soon. Oyekunle could be an interesting sub, he's full of energy and scoring for fun atm.
