I am happy with the squad we have got, goals come from playing well and we have the personnel to play well and score. If we bring in a new striker, who moves aside? Long hit really good form at the end of last season and we were all really happy that he signed an extension, we have spent hundreds of thousands on getting J Rod back and he was the business just before his first injury, Austin is a newish addition who we were all happy to have signed and was brought in to replace Pelle. Surely people were expecting the outgoings that left (apart from Koeman) and surely people understand that clubs never do all their business early, so why expect us to do it this year with a new manager. Finally with a new manager, euro disruption and a short closed season (is it or does it just seem like it is) it is easy to understand that we wont be flying on day 1, who will be. Every summer dicks moan about us handling it badly, that's nothing new but I think I've heard it all now that someone is angry that we haven't thrown everything behind getting the top spot after game 1.

A successful season would be to post the biggest profit ever, at least one award for our new media presence and a critically acclaimed match day magazine.

Some things don't change....7 years on

Exactly, I wish people would do a bit of research before repeating this stuff. Before we bought him he was a player many want, now we have him he's the good enough. -
So Redmond has the grand total of 1 goal against Arsenal to beat.

What a load of ********.

If you think what he said was humorous then you must be the office bantz type of guy, hey crazy tie.

The previous season Benteke scored 13 goals, the team managed a total of 31. Last season they replaced CBs goals with Ayew and Gestesde who between them scored 11, the team scored 27 goals and went down with 22 points adrift. I don't think four extra goals would have made 22 points. Last season they let 76 goals against 57 the season before, now I reckon those 19 goals had more to do with why they went down. Its all on google. But Vardy was there the season before and didn't score the goals because the team wasn't as good and they didn't play as well. This is my point talking about players in terms of the amount of goals they score is missing the point. We could replace Mane with another 11 goal a season player and it could work or we might score less goals, or we could not replace him and three current players could chip in with an extra four goals each or they might not. Chelsea bought goals when the bought Torres, Leicester fans were probably worried about Vardy the season before when he was 20 goals light of last season and there are probably loads of examples. Football is about teams and getting the best players that fit the formation and style of football.

Is this notion of talking about 'replacing goals' the latest fad in football. Football is simple, if we play well we will score goals, if we play badly we will score less goals.

There were plenty of people that wouldn't have minded him leaving after that season with Lovren and getting someone else in to partner Lovren. Little did people realise that he was the strength in that parnership.

Proud of Saints - the definition of a progressive club

its not about making a profit each year. Our wage bill is a top ten wage bill so we are not trying to do things on the cheap, we do not have brilliant commercial revenues outside of the TV deal and we have spent a lot on facilities. So we are using transfer fees in to pay for the wages and investment. I get it that fans want the big splash of a top signing, but ultimately we support the club for what it can do on the pitch between August and May, not for a summer transfer buzz. Why spend loads on transfer fees when with a bit of work we can get the same quality, other teams in other country operate like this and it's ok. Koeman had his own agenda and we need to stick to ours. -
It's just a bit of fun, no harm done.

It's still June FFS, let's see what the summer brings before ****ing the bed.

We have just had a vote where people preferred myths over facts and it's the same on here. It's tedious on here.

Southamptons wage bill is commensurate with our size and income, I believe we have the 9th biggest wage bill in the prem. We already pay as much as we can, so where is the extra money coming from? -
Who are they, the Belgium Monkees?

Should be easy, the ****s default face is miserable.

This is a perfect illustration that you are unable to defer your gratification, this is one of the core reasons why people are over weight.
