Even the bloke videoing it had to look away.

Agreed, AMN was lazy under Ralph as well.

A win but it was still a shit performance, without the two shit goals we didn't look like beating an under strength out of form Palace side. Not one long ball made it to it's target, too many aimless chips to no one in midfield. AMN eas alright only, he is still lazy, makes sloppy passes and lets the ball get intercepted when he just needs to step towards the ball to collect it. Lyanco didn't make a major mistake but still dives in. Caleta-Car was wobbly at times. We looked better when we retained the ball, there was a good level of aggression and commitment throughout but it was still a long way from a good performance. Nice to be in the hat though.

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2023/jan/05/crypto-chaos-how-crawley-crumbled-under-owners-reckless-leadership Another hipster football project going to shit.

The partnership attracted some initial scepticism, particularly after their first managerial appointment – Marinus Dijkhuizen - lasted just nine matches. ‘We probably tried to change too much at the same time,’ Ankersen reflects. ‘That set the project back 12 months or so.’ https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9877699/How-Brentfords-directors-Phil-Giles-Rasmus-Ankersen-taken-Bees-Premier-League.html Marinus Dijkhuizen had some success at the lower league Dutch team Excelsior, failed at Brentford, failed elsewhere in Holland and now getting some succes back at Excelsior. It all sounds very familiar with our own little welsh miner. Not very clever making the same basic error twice, especially in a higher league where it's harder to get away with. And especially when NJ had already failed at Stoke, what more data do you need. Reading the article, it appears we got the mouth piece of the partnership and brains stayed at Brentford, typical Saints.

City players, city DoF and a shitty manager.
-
Also a childhood fan of DZ, so happy to move to get them a transefer fee.
-
Maybe we were after this guy in the summer and he held out for a better club. And he's come now when nothing else worked out.
-
Although for number 2, the players can always rely on a number crunching hipster to take a gamble on them.
-
I wonder who was first interested in the Croat, our Serbian connections or the mad little man from a Welsh mining village.
-
We are in the worst top flight position in my lifetime of supporting us. Our position is completely without hope. My son is 12, when I was his age in the early 80s we were in a brilliant patch. He just won't end up with the same feeling for the club, I can see it drifting away already.

If we consider Jones as a massive gamble, so when the board made this decision, what were the list of pros that outweighed the cons. I can't think of many, certainly not enough to outweigh the cons. What did they see in him, what was their plan?
-
We did. The odds were always against Jones not being awful.
-
Jones's coaching team have very little pedigree as well. The players must be wondering what the fuck is going on.
-
When are we sacking this cunt!
-
Although £5m is the top eight prem managers wages, we could have got a better deal. Perhaps we did, MLT is well known for spouting bullshit.
-
Exactly, given the position we were in and that the ego of the management team won't allow them to reverse their decision quickly enough, it wasn't the time to take such a gamble. A team in Brightons posotion could take a gamble when Potter left, but our position meant we couldn't get it so wrong.
-
It's going to be a shit New Year. I think this is the most hopeless I've felt in a relegation scrap ever, and we've been in a few.
-
Every other club has a new manager bounce, we have the opposite, not a great endorsement of NJ.
-
You're an old joke.
-
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009–10_Southampton_F.C._season A draw with Millwall and then a 3-1 loss to Huddersfield, eight games before we got a win and in the relegation zone until December.
-
Plenty of good clubs, clubs similar to us, have been down for a long time, Ipswich, Blackburn, Charlton, QPR, Sheffield Wednesday, Derby, Coventry, it took Forest and Leeds years to get back up. There is no guarantee, you have to get back quickly otherwise it can take years or decades. That could have been us last time, we were tumbling until we were bought and had a big cash injection.
-
This is like a visitation from the Ghost of Yet to Come. This is how it will play out here. One of Stokes worst managers of all time only slightly better than Chris Kamara, should have been enough of a warning.
-
Lyanco, Diallo, Djenepo and Elyonoussi the four horsemen of the crock of shit. We are shit, Jones is shit, the club is shit. It's all shit.
