I'm staying just over an hours drive from there next month, AC Milan are playing Juventus on the Sunday night. I might just have to persuade Mrs W it's a good day to visit the city and tick a neutral visit to a big foreign game off the bucket list. Looks like there are some serious differences in ticket prices for the various areas, I'm assuming the second tier is reasonable view but does anyone know what areas to avoid bearing in mind she's unlikely to appreciate not speaking any Itallian and ending up in the middle of their ultras or away fans 😕. PS the question is posted in the extremely optimistic hope that she can be persuaded.🤣

I was totally shocked by that. Admittedly there was no-one ahead of him (and no-one seemingly busting a gut to get up there)) but he was in so much space had he continued his run the minimum ground he could have made would have been another 25yards before anyone could attempt to challenge him. As you said, totally bizarre incicident to stop and turn and pass backwards. Was it any coincidence he done it in front of the dugouts? Did he get a "where the fuck do you think you're going" type shout from the bench? Or was the decision to ignore his natual instincts - and 99% of manager's preferred tactic - and safely increase the passing stats by 1 more actually a "brave" decision?
-
But what did he do once he'd passed them/got there?
-
Indeed last night his distribution was excellent , both kicking and with quick long throws. Probably as good as any keeper I've seen . Which begs the question, if his distribution is that accurate why the hell are they farting around passing the ball around and across our own area? Push everyone up and let him deal with it.

No way. He wasn't clapping at an insane speed as he "sung" it.
-
Song? I think he's just randomly thinking of a few of his random fantasies out loud. Can someone find out where he sits so we can all sit somewhere else.
-
That strange comment from (was it RH?,) about Elyonousi being good without the ball is starting to make sense now he's no longer here. Could do with 11 of him at the moment

He could play one more year for us at the end of which he'll either be a PL player again and able to negotiate a new contract with us ; or, irrespective of whether we go up or not can walk away as a free agent, join any PL club that wants him on PL wages and take something like £5m as a signing on fee as thet won't need to pay for him. If Everton are the only club interested I'd definitely stay put, they are looking as one of the favourites for relegation (again) and there is a strong chance they won't even be paying him if they go into admin. I was also going to add wait one more year, have a great Euros and his value could be way higher than now...but then I remembered who he plays for 🤣

No not bollocks. Chicken liver.
-
They could have got him to say it in German, it was only two words FFS
-
Indeed . I prefer it whet we announce a new signing out of the blue with no prior ITK or media speculation. Unfortunately more often than not they turn out to be all shit and no fart.

Craziest thing you did or wore at a football match?

Indeed. Has any team been successful with zonal marking?. Forwards simply attack an empty zone, and defenders can't jump because they are starting from a standing start.

Well into the 98th minute and protecting a lead, Tella down left wing midway into their half, nowhere to go, passes back to Stephens on half way line who received it side on. Last season that was 100% back to Bazunu. Instead he turned and played a diagonal ball to Smallbone in the middle of their half and we were piling on the pressure via a different route. Totally different mentality and so refreshing to watch.

Not afraid to make his prescence felt on the pitch (doubt Bruno Fernandes has forgotten him) and can be vocal with his team-mates when needed. Next captain for me.
-
Re your edit I think the clubs actully preferred it closing before the season started but for those in Europe it proved a disadvantage as clubs in other coutries could continue making signings for several more weeks.

Liverpool are fast becoming my new Everton. I'd love to see a Merseyside relegation double. If only the PL could grow some balls and deduct points for both breaking FFP rules AND acting like entitled cunts.

Looks a low (starting) bid, but if it's a case of him wanting to work with RM again he might put pressure on Swansea to accept the deal over any from other clubs. Hopefully a rumour that has legs. Likewise the player.

It's a new rule FIFA introduced a while ago. The keeper is now allowed to use his hands to catch the ball to stop it reaching an opposing forward, or parry (save) a goalbound shot to prevent it going into his net. Some clubs took to this new rule quite quickly but traditionalists like Southampton still consider it a form of cheating, pointing out the sport is called football for a reason, and refuse to adopt the new tactics.

Do we need to sell though? Or just get rid? There's a few I'd be happy just to save on the wage bill and give them away.

....aka The Water Whisperer

Strange order to list them . If that's our starting line up in formation then RM is really shaking things up
-
One of those players no one would notice if he failed to attend his own birthday party.
-
He is also without a current club. I'm always one that says don't go back but the combined experienced heads of Morgan and Fonte alongside 8 youngsters and JWP (cos I still don't think anyone woth joining will want him) could be a season to remember.

I was really impressed by him in that moment but unfortunately probably the one and only time he seemed to really care about the club and his teammates. For me captain has to show some backbone, Stephens is the best we have in that respect .
