Promise the players the earth for success only for them to realise if they achieve it they won't get what's promised because we wouldn't be allowed to pay them it. No wonder they started looking elsewhere. Sounds like contracts included a lot of performance related pay, so the higher we go the more we pay them. FFP based on commercial income so there would be a need to increase that to pay more wages. Puts the comments from the new post NC board about concentrating on commercial income into perspective. Also our meek "surrender" of the FA Cup last season, perhaps, as Pompey found to their cost, we couldn't afford to win it.

Premier League window is from midnight of last fixture of the season. FIFA and UEFA window is 12 weeks from when it ends. So whilst PL were happy to let deal go through as there were no competitive club games it would affect he was still listed as a Saint by UEFA

This. Sometimes such characters can be worth their weight in gold for team morale in the dressing room and socially, even when they're not the best of the bunch on the field.

What looks - to the untrained eye - like a very near miss at Barcelona airport at the weekend. Spanish authorities claim both planes were where they should be and there was never any problem. Came across this site/blog today - http://thecolemanexperience.wordpress.com/ whilst reading about an entirely unrelated matter - or maybe it isn't as that seems to be the whole point of it all. Not sure if it's been mentioned on this thread before. After a brief browse through a few pages I can't make up my mind if this is a total crank site like David Icke's or it's unearthing some genuine unwelcome connections . The fact it's still up and running leads me towards the former.

Good to see the bookies (who rarely get things wrong by much) still see us as 8th even with the recent outgoings and rumours. Doubt that will change much even with a few new signings but doubt it still seems realistic as the squad stands today.
