  1. ITV may be ****e at football, but their coverage of this was excellent. Loved the light hearted style of commentary/analysis which would turn serious when required, and the FAQ sections were great for a newcomer to the sport like me (and I suspect without being patronising to those who already understand it). I went from one who occasionally tuned in in previous years to admire the scenery to an avid watcher hooked on every single days highlights.
  2. Now that was rather exciting. Would love to pop over there to see a stage live next year. Atmosphere looks amazing.
  3. Follow these handy instructions and you will be able to unlock the turnstile with it.
  4. Not sure if that was intentional in your reply to alpine_saint ..... but I see what you did there
  5. Great post. Rojo - forgot we were (allegedly) in for him. Pretty forgettable as a player as it turned out. I've been watching Saints since the 60s. In that time plenty have asked to move on to "better things". Very few have actually bettered themselves footballwise by doing so. Unfortunately plenty have financially. Meanwhile Saints have carried on, rarely seeming worse off (on the pitch) the next season despite the loss of one or more "stars". We seem to be one of those clubs that, under most (but not all) managers, have a knack of creating a team that is better than the sum of it's parts. Which is why many don't seem quite the same when they leave (biggest case in point, Steve Williams? ) whilst little old Southampton continue to confound the critics. The nice thing is we used to confound them by staying up, now we confound them by knocking on the top door. Players come, players go, but the club should add a motto to the badge "To Be Continued"
  6. JayRod?
  7. Yeah, must be like being bored but comfortable in a safe cosy marriage, fancying some other bird who doesn't fancy you back (but might next year when her current partner's not up to it any more) and having another one (or two) you don't really fancy trying to entice you with promises of all sorts of exciting things you're not currently getting at home. Tough decision.
  8. Don't think he has even been linked with the club he "wants" to go to ....... yet.
  9. Yes, he was one of the first to catch Rooney in his after goal celebration. Hodgson got out of jail in that game, think we won in spite of him not because of his selections. And England going all season undefeated is in danger of becoming an Emporer's new clothes scenario, the average ranking of all opponents was something like 65th. I could sort of understand Hodgdon's reasoning - albeit a risky decision - for putting Henderson at RB at half time certainly can't understand the decision to play Jones from the start. At the end of the day you HAVE to pick your best form players in their own positions, if you don't what incentive is there for anyone to try and improve (or indeed those already established to even maintain their form)
  10. "Want" can be a bit open to interpretation.. He may or may not prepared to join them if they are the only acceptable bidder. But they are not the club he would like to join.
  11. Wanda-lust ?
  12. http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Southampton-Soccer-Jersey-15-16-Mane-Long-Pelle-Cork-Tadic-Wanyama-Southampton-Soccer-Jersey-2016/32344881477.html The ITK fakers have already been hard at work. Hopefully not so ITK regarding the 15/16 squad.
  13. You mean can he GK?
  14. Human statue? Shop window mannequin? Guard at Buckingham Palace? Some people just aren't prepared to make the effort.
  15. All makes sense, but under the FFP salary cap rules would clubs be able to offer those mega salaries when picking up the players for nothing?
  16. Luckily for us all 4 games are against teams who - as things stand now - can't really afford to play for a draw, which is where we can often come unstuck. So 4 wins then
  17. No excuse. I know that SMS isn't the noisiest ground in the country but even somebody totally unaware on arrival that a minutes silence is happening would immediately notice the lack of usual hubbub of pre-match anticipatory buzz, not to mention one quick glance at the pitch to see both teams lined up and stationary.
  18. Me too
  19. This. Then you can use it again on his 400th.

    eBooks

Pretty much this. Kindle apps "work" fine on a tablet but within 10 minutes or so of staring at that non-changing back lit page(s) of text your eyes will feel sore as hell. No such worries with a kindle, visually the same as reading ink on paper, far more comfortable for longer spells of reading.
  21. Great day. Only my 2nd ever away day, (we won the first one as well, the next was the final. All downhill from there). Lasting memory apart from the match was having my foot stood on by a police horse whilst queuing at the turnstile.
  22. Not sure when transfers in or out are/were applied but .......
