There are two million Ukrainians in Poland doing the jobs Polish workers didn't want to do. Its a political issue in most countries, primarily for no EU reasons.

Isn't that every day?

Amazing a 'professional' club can't produce better than a Saints random did in two minutes [/img]

Universities are charitable. Seems at least ethically wrong, if not outright ultra vires.

I'd be happy with that. Surely any result which leads to at least one competent party is better than a result which perpetuates two weak ones.
-
You're right about the outcome / repercussions - but its only a good result if you think the best thing is to keep a Tory Government, no matter how hopeless matched by a similarly hopeless Labour Party. Personally i'd say that was the worst possible result.

They do care, but as Sherlock said Britain already gets a better membership deal than any other country. The other 27 simply don't want to give any additional privileges to Britain that the other members don't get. And why should they?

Erm. Not quite. The current account is in surplus but that ignores capital expenditure. Another £42 billion of new borrowing in 2017/18. Probably a further £25bn on top in 2018/19

Whatever your Brexit views its surely preferable to have Parliament decide than Ministers

Ironic that Rudd has had to resign and it was accepted by the worst Home Secretary in living memory - Theresa May.

Britain 0.1% growth and that sclerotic Euro area 0.6%. Odd that the bad weather was across Europe but only Britain succumbed.

Whether by accident or design I suspect China and US have played bad cop and South Korea good cop. Very effectively too.

Tragic case. Afie Evans has been kept in intensive care breathing and his heart beating for nearly a year beyond the point where was no hope of recovery. As a population we seem unable to to deal with difficult questions about when medical interventions should be stopped. Its a harsh fact of life that in a cash limited service somebody else will have suffered and probably died. Years ago I worked on a team developing metrics to be used to target NHS resources to where they would be most effective. On an abstract level those metrics received wice public support, but when it came down to actual individual cases and withholding care people baulked. One of the reasons mental health services are so poorly resourced is that people don't actually die of the mental illness in the same way they will die of, say, organ failure. You could treat dozens of mental health patients for the price of one organ transplant and reduce suicides and murders whilst increasing quality of life for the patients and their families.

FA to consider sale of Wembley to Fulhams owner - £850m?

They'll never fill it -
Yes, its a black and white choice. You either act on the evidence you can get or you do nothing and risk giving the green light to further atrocities. Is the evidence 100% conclusive? No. Is it stronger than the 50% threshold for balance of probability? Yes absolutely. If you sincerely hold the views you post here you should never go into Government - because you would be utterly ineffectual if you did. The world has rightly drawn a red line over use of chemical weapons. There is no hand wringing option. May had to make a decision based on what she knew. you and I will never know the details of that knowledge - so yes ultimately you have to trust that either Assad / Putin is telling the truth or May / macron / Trump is. Wait for 100% proof which will never come and you become Burke's good man who does nothing and allows evil to triumph.
-
Depends on your starting point. If you have two choirboy first time offenders blaming each other - of course you need conclusive proof. However in this case one party is an alliance between a dictator who has tortured and killed up to 60,000 political opponents, bombs civilian areas and has a proven history of using chemical weapons together with a nation state who has launched four invasions and wars in the past 20 years, habitually lies as a matter of policy and assassinates opponents, journalists and 'traitors'. The other party is a woman whose biggest crime is being a bit crap and ineffectual and a member of the National Trust. I dunno Bexy. Are you still torn 50:50?

Fair do's. I based that post on this article which refers to two years after leaving the EU but I just re-read the Treasury forecast (which Osbourne relied on) http://www.edp24.co.uk/news/politics/leaving-the-eu-would-cost-50-000-jobs-in-east-england-osborne-claims-1-4545207
