Im pretty sure he'd have different players and different opposition here though.
-
because they picked it up from L'Equipe who picked it up from the Sun.
-
He came across as a bit chastened and less confident to me.

L'Equipe might be reliable but a story 'Garcia to Southampton?' with big question mark on it and citing a story in the Sun doesnt add up any more than a wish to fill space.

I thought C&A had closed down?

Many years ago when a friend and I were broke and in search of money and adventure we hatched a plan to buy a car in the UK and drive it to India. At the time India had massive import duties and only a small supply of crappy outdated cars produced locally. Western produced cars could sell for seven or eight times what they were worth here - and of the course the border was porous and corrupt. Never happened in the end...

Britain used to be called 'Treasure Island' by multi-national manufacturers because prices were so much higher here than in other markets. The EU has helped for sure by breaking up dealership monopolies and making grey imports possible. Its interesting how different brands are perceived in different markets though, and therefore how much they can charge for their products. It varies more than you'd think.

That totally misunderstands bookies business model. Their interest is in having as many people as possible making bets on as many / horses / candidates / events as possible because they know there is only one winner and whoever wins they are making more money on the losing bets than paying out on the winners. Its no good to them if everyone piles on to the same bet because then they are exposed. As Florida says, they just respond to the market. If lots of bets flow in on the same thing they cut the odds on that and lengthen them on the others.

Catching a plane to London isnt quite the same as becoming Saints manager. I'd prefer FdB or Garcia, or Pellegrini, or Moyes.

Even better. You get as big a share in the club as if you'd spent £1,000 but also get into games free.

Oh its the sewers today - but excellent yesterday when they were demonising immigrants and the EU.
-
The fact that I cant express a view on the state of British politics without you saying its all a load of old pony, telling me Im a lefty (yesterday you told me I was a Tory) and have you project views on to me about Islam makes my point.

Both good pieces. I dont think the referendum should be pulled because of Jo Cox's death, but Liddle is right the quality of the 'information' exchange has left Britain in no position to vote.

So more of an M then

Its a (weak) Francophobe jibe

I'm not normally moved by the illnesses and deaths of public figures but this was different. A truly horrible thing to happen to woman who by all accounts was able and popular and headed for greater things - whilst doing her job. Most of my colleagues are American and we've often debated how divided they are and how one half viscerally hates the other. Until today I've always felt slightly smug that we have more shades of grey and a Gabby Giffords type event couldnt happen here. This referendum has changed this country. A petty nasty and fundamentally dishonest culture has emerged and the consequences are going to be long lasting imo.

He's the manager of France. He clearly aint all that lucky.

Most managers would leave Barca for Blackpool if the wages were big enough.

Looks like they've pulled it Whelk - listed on Spectators front page but link doesnt work. What does it say?

One of my rellies had the same thing going for Freddie Mercury. When I told her he was gay she hit me....

and the EU, and foreigners.

Because Pellegrini has an Italian passport and Pochettino a Spanish one?

Jeez, I genuinely thought you were a reasonably well informed poster - not a tin hatter. Deutsche is struggling for sure, it may need a bailout because its capital ratios are too low - but the rest is just conspiro weirdo. This is their balance sheet - but i guess it doesnt help you much if you cant read it. http://markets.ft.com/research//Markets/Tearsheets/Financials?s=DBKX.N:GER&subview=BalanceSheet&period=a
