  1. The join EU push was the pet project of the PM Davutoglu and he has gone, lost a power battle with Erdogan. Erdogan is now taking the country on a authoritarian non secular path further away from the EU. not closer to it. However the EU currently need Turkey to take the Syrian refugees and to help end the fighting there - as they supply IS - so no-one is going to say anything to rock that boat. The EU aren't going to admit any country which doesn't meet a range of non negotiable standards on free press, human rights etc. http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2016/05/turkey-erdogan-eu-160506132224863.html https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/jun/08/erdogans-draconian-new-law-demolish-turkeys-eu-ambitions
  2. I do have the suspicion we're being played. Very popular and successful manager leaves. Fans upset. Almost immediately Saints are linked to big populist names. Fans happy again. Succession of candidates 'drop out' and instead we're linked to basketcase Zenga. Fans upset. Appointment is made and its not any of the big names, but at least its not Zenga. Fans happy again.
  3. Going to Lazio supposedly. Do we need a brilliant but mad professor? http://www.espnfc.co.uk/lazio/story/2895838/lazio-very-close-to-marcelo-bielsa-appointment-sporting-director-igli-tare
  4. There should have been more vids like that. Its partial and unobjective, but it is mostly true and informative.
  5. Ah Jeff. The man reviled on two forums. How nice of you to drop in.
  6. His Sotonians account was set up in February too. Makes it more likely rather than less its a spoof imo.
  7. Its obviously a sockpuppet. CB having fun imo
  8. Having read opinions from people I don't know and post anonymously, I give very few schits .
  9. Go on spill the beans, where is it?
  10. I think it probably will make the critical difference - which will be a touch of Karma for the hate and lie ridden campaign Brexit have run. The Brexit campaign indirectly caused Cox's death and her death will cause Brexit to lose.
  11. Babelfish~~: Markus left an endowment for the club. Pochettino should have got £60m for the team but Kat pocketed the money. Les and Kat teamed up and Cortese, who was Mr Popular, left. I could even kind of believe that - except probably more likely the club rowed back on the £60m due to Cortese inspired ****ups, overspends and disasters elsewhere - Staplewood, Osvaldo etc.
  12. Lets face it Wes, you are pig schit thick and unable to see nuance or degrees of difference in an argument. You cant even figure out how someone can work for a charity and work on fisheries at the same time (hint: its a marine conservation charity. FYI marine means oceans). I don't know who you think you are convincing with the 'points' you make.
  13. Perhaps. It wasnt really pointed at Cortese, more the fairly obvious point that if you hand responsibility for transfers to a man with great contacts, personal standing and judgement you will get a better result than a committee. Hand it to a guy with great contacts, personal standing in the game but bad judgement and it will be a disaster.
  14. Committees are supposedly safer than individuals but shut out individual brilliance. Most of our best signings recently seem to have been RKs. The big question is how many of our turkeys like Gaston, Osvaldo, Forren etc were also one man (hello Mr Cortese!! ) and how many were down the black box committee.
  15. Most people are settled in who they will vote for but some are sheep and will vote with whoever looks like winning; some like to protest during campaigns but end up voting safe and some simply are slightly ashamed of who they intend to vote and so will lie to pollsters. The 'big' shifts in polling are in reality only a few people in 100 changing sides.
  16. Seems to me the lesson so far has been teamwork, hard work and organisation beats half arsed talent - a bit like Adkins used to say. Wales. NI, Iceland, Albania, Leicester etc have all over achieved recently. The main reason is desire - having too much money and too much acclaim for too long blunts your edge imo. That said Im sure the top players will rouse themselves for the big games.
  17. Maybe he is telling the truth but his judgement is bad. If he is truly ambitious and wants to win things he would have been better waiting for a top four club next year than Everton which could take years to resurrect, if ever.
  18. would he come with coaching team, or do we have to find one?
  19. That was October last year, not the start of the campaign. As I said in that post "immigration is too high". Is there really nothing you get right?
  20. Not as bad as 'liberal' though.
  21. Means hes going to be sucking a lemon and moaning about life being unfair in post match interviews.
  22. You know I was genuinely undecided at the start of the campaign. What has made me absolutely certain to now vote remain is dealing with the leavers, like you. Sure dodgy Dave and Osborne have come out with extremely dubious predictions - but at least they are only opinions. The way the leave camp have actively knowingly lied about the EU is another thing entirely. Brexiteers - mostly, not all - want to indulge their prejudices unencumbered by awkward facts. There is now no way I could line up and vote Brexit alongside such a bunch of utter tosspots.
  23. Not going to defend your dodgy dossier? Bit too weak huh? so probably best.
  24. Could actually be a good thing for team morale. He obviously wanted to be elsewhere and in the team video a lot off players listed him as the biggest moaner. good but not irreplaceable.
  25. Fake claims on issues you dont understand. I work in fisheries so I'll just deal with those.[/color]
