  1. We should be able to be self sufficient - and I'd prefer that to being bankrolled. Locally developed players you can identify with and generating your own success is much more enjoyable than spunking millions on players from wherever and buying success.
  2. Yep, but Fonte gave him the opportunity to get away with it.
  3. It would be nicer if sometimes when the oppo kicks the ball it didnt go straight into the goal.
  4. Its obvious Ma U will spend a lot of cash during the summer and I wouldn't be surprised if someone there has let it be known they're interested in Lallana and Shaw. That doesn't mean we will sell or that they want to go.
  5. Never. People often quote me and edit my posts though.
  6. Kids kept me up all night
  7. The diddy men and me never dodged those taxes. Tattifllarious
  8. I'm relieved. That could have been so much worse taste
  9. There should be a routine court order in cases like this that if the perpetrator ever wins the lottery, gets compensation, get left money etc then the cash should go to his victims family / charity.
  10. Bit harsh. Marchwood is a small close community but would calling them kids really hurt you?
  11. Make your mind up. Is knowledge good or some horrible scare story?
  12. Thats one mother of a perimeter hedge. Taller than the building and trees
  13. There is also a lot of evidence to show that too much formalised early education and hot-housing throughout school produces a cohort of clones who think and behave in the same way. Thats fine if you want to produce factory fodder as in China - not so good if you're a high wage economy which needs to rely on lateral thought, innovation and invention.
  14. Totally agree with that. The Scandinavian model is far superior. Critics point to lower literacy levels at age 7 - unsurprisingly since they have only just started school. What they dont point out is that by 11 the Scandis are ahead. Most importantly, they suffer far lower levels of disaffection and drop out amongst teenagers - essentially because they havent been hothoused since the age of 3 or four and have been allowed to develop and explore naturally.
  15. The problem with Europe is not the open borders, or legislation or costs -its the fact it has expanded too far to include countries which don't have much in common and where the standard of living is very different. If it had stuck to the core countries - France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Benelux, Scandinavia etc you wouldn't see big movements of people.
  16. No but Keira Knightly and Denis Healey are.
  17. All the obvious things are great - the spice market, boat trip along the river. Went here - traditional Ottoman Empire food - different and lovely. http://www.asitanerestaurant.com
  18. I think you should investigate how many jobs Spudders is going to leave in 2014.
  19. 2010 wasnt so bad either 2011 meh 2012 so so
  20. Supermarkets demanded new vegetable varieties that prioritise appearance and shelf life over content and farmers use of chemical fertilisers means trace elements aren't returned to soil they way they were with muck.
