Argentina upping the ante on the Falklands....

Never **** anybody who has got pictures of themselves in b&w. -
Well he's half right then. Leeds may have been a bigger club in the past and maybe so again in the future but last season Saints had bigger attendances, bigger budgets and were placed higher. Next season that difference will be even more marked. So yes Saints are a bigger club than Leeds on all current measures.

How Good Can Schneiderlin Get? And Who's Better: Schneiderlin or Cork?
buctootim replied to @BHiglett's topic in The Saints
Thats what I said -
Im basing my opinion on some Spanish people I know (we have an office in Madrid) - not exactly statistically significant but Ive no reason to think they feel differently to the rest of the population. Spain seems more resigned and pragmatic - leave the country and get a job. Greeks are much angrier (based on tv coverage of riots and strikes).

I hoped Cork would really flourish last season playing regularly in a settled team and signed to a club who valued him after years on loan signed to a club who didnt. If anything though the second half of the season was much poorer than the first (admittedly he isnt alone in that). -
When i was 12-15 I used to cycle from Weston to HMS Dryad in Portsmouth, carrying fishing gear on an old 3 speed. Days fishing, round trip c34 miles and not think too much about it. Its just a bike ride Dr Who.

How are any of the creditors better off than if he had pulled the plug straight out six months ago - or at the very least the day the after the last game was played?

Spains main problem is unemployment - people are leaving the country in droves to get work and I doubt many see a muilitary government as a solution to unemployment. Greeks by contrast are angry - they are getting huge budget cuts and blame somebody or somthing. They are more likely to do something stupid imo.

Cant see it in Spain. Greece by contrast...

That is singulalrly the worst Idea I have EVER heard about reforming the property market. House prices are mainly determined by how much people can afford to pay each month. Lower the monthly payments by extending the period of the loan and you will simply drive up prices to even more ridiculous levels whilst removing the chance for one generation to pay off the loan before retirement. The answer is really simple - build more homes to higher standards and the price will fall.

Theres sometying I dont understand about QE and which the news never covers. The BoE have bought £350bn of bonds from the banks and other investors with newly manufactured money. The banks get liquidity and the BofE gets bonds - which have a value. So far QE hastnt created overmuch inflation and the pounds value hasnt crashed because other currencies are in worse shape than ours . Surely this is a great way to pay off a huge chunk of the the UK national debt? Print money and the BofE buys assets which it can later sell when the crisis has passed.

I liked the story about the worlds biggest doner kebab better. -
With £14m extra you could admit everybody free for the whole season.
-
A "4 year deal believed to be around £5 million pounds" can mean a lot of things though - for example a transfer fee of £1m, another £1m after 100 Saints appearances, £2m for playing for England plus £4,000pw wages for four years.

Perhaps. Turkish struggles to pull it off though.
-
tbf that was a little inaccurate. Dune is the one who primarily does the controversial and /or stupid form of eliciting reactions. You tend to use the superior and condescending style favoured by CB Fry.
-
The whole premise of Talksport is to say something controversial, no matter how stupid, in order to get people phoning in. Only eejets fall for it. He's the radio equivalent of Turkish and Dune.

I use IE9. People say its slow but I never experience a problem and I prefer the way many websites look on IE. Use Opera mini on my blackberry, which is good also.

If you want to sell tv rights to countries across the world you need to make the games look desirable - and you cant do that with half empty stadiums. Ticket prices will be just low enough to ensure a sell out for most games.

Who to believe? First hand personal experience backed up by the BBC, Independent, Washington Post, PC World, Telegraph etc or a random on a messageboard who cant construct a sentence? Tricky. http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/reviews

Thats an impressive list of clean sheets.

He was awesome, retired at the right time with reputation intact but should never have attempted a comeback. Resorted to drugs to keep an aging body on the pace imo.

Twins separated at birth.

Because he's going to QPR. No-one chooses them if they have offers for the same money elsewhere.
