Public Sector Cuts V Tax Rises For Those Of Us That Pay Their Wages
buctootim replied to dune's topic in The Lounge
lol. Best post in a while. -
I know that was said jokingly but it is around my area. I asked six window cleaners to do my house - all said they were too busy. Eventually found one after three months - £30 for 20 minutes work. One guy even said he could do it over the summer when he could find students to employ, but couldnt find anyone to do it when the weather was colder. At £90 ph (not including travelling) with low skills and low capital outlay, work when you want, I was almost tempted to set up myself.

I got gazumped, so I upped my offer gazumping them, then after a few weeks when the gazumpers had found somewhere else I lowered my offer to £1,000 less than my orginal one telling the vendors why and that I was going to give the difference to charity. It was worth it for the look on the agents face.

Winning the league instead of coming second not only says you are the best team in the Championship, but also that you have more chance of staying in the premiership and not getting relegated in the first season back. That, more than for any other reason is why I'd like to win it.

SLH had no significant other businesses than the football club therefore the holding company argument didnt stack up. That might not be the case with Convers
-
Converse gets wound up, Chainrai takes over PFC again as he hasnt been paid what was due.

Beats trying to dissolve the little white air freshener tablets I guess

What are you public sector lot up to on Weds then?

I dont disagree that now we have got into the mess we need to manage our way out of it - and that means balancing the budget (although we can debate how far and how fast cuts should go). I was replying to ther poster who said the cuts was nothing to do with the banks - which is clearly nonsense. -
Would you press charges in Katharine Goldberg groped you?

or at least kept her topped up till later. -
Depends on the car and age. I had a Peugeot which was 7 years or 60,000 miles (whichever was first). Current Volvo is 10 years or 100,000.

Nothing to do with the banks liquidity and solvency crunch which collapsed consumer confidence, starved business of working capital, required the government to spend £80bn or so bailing them out and caused the recession then? No sir. No sirree. -

Sure. There's a power and strength differential though. One is threatening and distasteful - the other is just distasteful. I dont see that criminalising someone for a drunken misjudgement helps any. Alcohol has made an arse out of all us at some point. in response to Lighthouse -

Maybe. That or the publicity, loss of job and public humiliation will send her off the deep end. If clubs handled all their customers who behaved inappropriately that way they'd be sentencing 20 people a night. -
lolz. Irony at its finest

If QPR's owners decide they are going to use their stonking wealth to get the club into the Champions league then enough people from London's 7 million population will switch allegiance and fill their expanded stadium. Those Hammersmith, Ealing, Chiswick, Fulham, Kensington residents arent going to go to SMS even if we did reach the CL.

Exactly. Its not like she was being abusive or lamping people or was 6 foot tall, 15 stone and intimidating. Cabin crew ought to be able to handle situations like that. -
Not meant to be a lairy post, but really, even if you are gay, would you press charges? The repurcussions for her seem out of proportion to the action. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-15917679

Is that a Northern Rock SIPP? -
No offence taken. In fact I wasnt commenting on your post, which I like a lot and is very moving. I was simply commenting on the condemnation elsewhere of the player who unwisely tweeted his reaction.

Some prophets like Abraham, Jesus and Mohammed hit the big time, some never made it. If people can believe in L Ron Hubbard in the age of the internet is it so hard to believe people were taken in 2,000 years ago?

Hey Dune. Check out the link. Take her out for dinner at Pizza hut and bit of recreational Argos shopping, she'll be all yours.

People have a right to react in the way they feel. It was unwise of him to broadcast his thoughts, but Im not going to condemn him for having them even if I disagree with what he has said. Only he knows why he feels the way he does - maybe he has been in a situation where someone close comitted suicide, maybe he knew Speed personally, maybe he just knows more than you or I do.

Have the mice on the tube actually evolved to be a darker almost black color compared to normal brown mice, or is it just the lighting? Often wonder that when stood on the platform at Green Park late at night

Just seen this article. Good read about electric and hydrogen vehicles in wake of UK's first hydrogen filling station opening. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-14979817
