  1. I didn't read the details of the case / judgment but I'd guess the judge was swayed by the impact on his two British born children and British wife, rather than the impact of deportation on him.
  2. He will do very well for us, maybe our best manager in recent times imo.
  3. Yes climate has natural cycles - long ones lasting 10s of thousands of years and shorter ones lasting a few hundred. That doesnt change the fact that putting gases into the atmosphere traps more heat and makes the climate different to what it would have been anyway. How warm you are in your house depends not only the temperature outside, but how well insulated it is. Greenhouse gases are insulation. They make the plant warmer than it would otherwise have been, regardless of natural fluctuations.
  4. Seconded. I ued to defend him but hes got the SRS disease of not knowing how much is enough and when to STFU.
  5. Are you a goldfish? Its answered every time we have one of these threads. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?9263-Global-Warming/page6 http://www.telegraph.co.uk/topics/weather/4436934/Snow-is-consistent-with-global-warming-say-scientists.html

    Help

Wow that works. Saintsweb is so educational.
  7. Not quite right Johnny. Cambridge is ranked the best university in the world with Oxford and Imperial College also in the top 10. Switzerland, Australia and Canada each have one in the top 20 also.
  8. Still not quite the same as Donald Trump's choices in the US version though is it? .
  9. But you also need to factor in that the price of the coal produced is higher - making electricity more expensive and making energy intensive industries like aluminium smelting uncompetitive. I agree you need to support industries with training, infrastructure etc - but subsidies is a road to nowhere.
  10. Made a bad situation worse. They created the house price boom with low interest rates and allowing lax mortgage criteria, then exacerbated it with high levels of immigration stoking demand whilst overseeing very low levels of new building. That was their greatest failing imo.
  11. My mum bought our council house in 1974 under a Labour government and traded up over the years managed to trade up over the years to move us from Weston through Bitterne to the giddy heights of Hill Lane. All Maggie did was to restrict Councils from using the sell off proceeds to build new houses to replace those sold. The worst problem for all social groups is Britain is overpriced poor quality housing caused by a lack of supply and minimum building standards found in most other developed countries. .
  12. They werent under Mawhinney, but now hes gone passivity seems to have returned.
  13. Thats not an oxymoron, but thanks for trying.
  14. Guly has at least scored, probably more often than anyone else for the number of minutes hes been on the pitch. If we are keeping him I'd guess its because negotiations to bring in more firepower arent going well.
  15. I thought about watching it, but there are so many comments on the web saying 'seriously dont watch it', I changed my mind. At some point humanity has to overcome curiosity, and Im glad mine kicked in before watching a dying man have a screwdriver stuck in his exposed brain.
  16. Guly may not look the part, but at least he scores from open play -more than Lambert this season despite only being on the pitch for a fraction of the time .
  17. Thats the one. The club with one third of our wage bill. The one Adkins got promoted. The one falling down the table now hes gone.
  18. Its hard to find willing mother and daughter combos.
  19. There is waste in public services, but actually much of it is brought about because of central government policies. If you contract out public services to private companies you still have to provide the services, but in addition also pay for two sets of contract managers (council and private company) and pay for shareholder dividends. I worked for Brighton council years ago. They were rate capped, meaning they couldnt afford to employ workmen to maintain pavements - potentially leading to big insurance claims 'because I tripped over'. Yet they could get central government capital grants to replace paving - so thats what they did - every two years rip up the pavements and replace them. Its perverse - but due to government, not council mismanagement.
  20. Whats most amazing about the Lambert Guly partnership is that we won two games despite only scoring 1 goal.
  21. Really? you should go out with social setvices when they visit senile old dears who collect their excrement and wont let it be taken away or maybe to see a profoundly autistic boy as he smashes his head against the wall. Then maybe you wouldnt come out with the sack em crap all the time.
  22. I think the point was that it was humans that did it.
  23. Need to try harder. This bait has gone a bit stale
  24. It wouldnt be quite so bad if Green was only taking the **** once, ie by sitting back in Monaco and earning a fortune whilst enjoying his tax free non dom status. What makes it worse imo is that he actively runs his companies from London, essentially claiming 'Im just the hired help, it all belongs to my wife who lives in Monaco'. Would be interesting to see a divorce case between them - I'd bet my house that all of a sudden hidden documents would emerge that showed actually he does own it all after all.
