  1. And trying to get off with two nurses. Busy day for him.
  2. Tell that to Jeremy Beadle.
  3. I doubt there are even courses on wine tasting - viticulture - winemaking maybe. As long as the number of places on vocational courses is broadly related to the number of jobs available I dont care what people study. There are too many people doing crap courses at crap universities but thats a result of the drive to get 50% of 18 year olds into university - which was always a fundamentally flawed idea.
  4. I don't like any cuts - but education and defence are pretty small budgets -around £50bn total compared with pensions / welfare and health - around £230bn total from memory. 3% from the biggies will save more than 10% from the smaller budgets.
  5. Thats the plan according to the NC interview. First season in Championship aiminmg for top six - which is perfectly doable imo.
  6. Presumably the online charge reflects not just the credit card charge but also the cost of putting the tickets in an envelope and postage.
  7. Whats to protest about? As a country we spent too much in the vague hope we would get unfeasibly large GDP growth each year. As soon as we hit a recession the friggin great hole in the budget was obvious. Personally I'd cut pensions and introduce some charges for healthcare to bridge the gap instead of education but not my call.
  8. Who knows! Lets face it neither of us would fancy digging around in its bottom drawer to find out....
  9. Some people are just totally brain dead. Whatever the rights and wrongs of fees and loans its a political decision made by elected representatives - and a decision that dozy cow has a right to protest about. If it wasnt for the people whose memorial she is attacking - she'd be in Auschwitz as a political prisoner.
  10. Its a fair question. As long as its asked in the right way - ie from the premise that both the questioner and NC want the best for the club i cant see anyone should shy away from it.
  11. I know somebody who used to be a left wing idealogical criminal defence solicitor working for 'victims of the system'. 10 years of that day to day changed him into working for the CPS wanting to "lock the scumbags up".
  12. BBC article. "In addition to being on the ball when the transfer market reopens, Pardew has also underlined the importance of bring players through Newcastle's academy into the first team. "Some of the most successful sides [in the word], like Barcelona, have created players from within," he continued. Weird. NC and AP now saying exactly the same thing, the day after NC's interview. Who pinched it from who?
  13. No they're not. Only four or five teams think they have a realitic chance of winning it, and maybe another four or five think they could possibly get lucky if all the circumstances went their way for a whole season. The other 9 or 10 clubs have no illusions and are just happy to survive. Thats why the premiership as a competetion is going down the tubes.
  14. Pardew did an alright job for us - but tbf if you were a NUFC fan would you be pleased to see Houghton the guy who got them promoted got rid of and replaced by the man sacked from a league 1 club?
  15. Is it just me or does fancying Kirstin Dunst and Zooey Deschanel belong in the 'Quelle surprise beautiful women are foxy' thread as opposed to 'weird crushes'?
  16. Thats weird, because when I typed 'crack whore' into google, I got a picture of mark chamberlain.
  17. Mike Ashley is totally ****ing clueless, as hes demonstrated many time before in the past three years.
  18. A deal which says "I agree to pay you £750,000pa for five years, unless I change my mind in which case I get rid of you for a fiver' is meaningless.
  19. obscure
  20. I know somebody who lives in Ekaterinburg, a Russian city destined for a massive rebuild of their 45,000 seater stadium. They are fuming about the warped priorities when the city lacks a proper indoor shopping mall (no small deal with winter temperatures down to -25c).
  21. I guess every individual is different. Personally if AOC was my 17 year old son and he was offered say £15,000pw by Arsenal (I rate AOC but not as highly as Walcott) tied to a four year contract and needing to live in North London or £8,000pw by Saints with reviews based on promotion I'd advise him to go for Saints. My thinking would be he could continue to develop, play regularly, live at home and be with his mates for another two years - then at 19 he'd be more mature, more established and likely able to command an even better contract.
  22. No feedback yet from the two posters going to dinner with NC tonight. Can't still be passing the port.
  23. So you're saying AOC is worth more than Walcott at the same age?
  24. Go you. Knock that straw man down. No-one is going to offer Chamerberlain £25,000pw and £1million signing on and you know it. Walcott, the £11million best of his generation wonderkid got less than that.
  25. Its clearly not.
