  1. I'd be surprised if it was Tabor - he's a West Ham fan who tried to buy into them in the 1990s according to the Times. Since they are now practically belly up presumably if he was going to buy a club it would be them.
  2. ty Ponty
  3. Is this based on fact, a rumour doing the rounds, or just one mans wild guess?
  4. Agree with all of that. Southampton has fantastic advantages - extensive waterfront, city walls, cruise ships, great parks - which are all somehow overshadowed by dog poor new buildings and roads which just wouldnt be allowed in most other cities. When I come back to Southampton parts of it remind me of Belfast in the 1970s - and thats going some.
  5. Yes. He must be one of the biggest fee earners Begbies Traynor have got.
  6. I fear it will be the reverse. As another poster said a while ago - every small club will treat Saints, Norwich and Charlton as proxies for the cup final games they will never get to play in. Each one will raise their game against us and we will have to be on top form week in week out.
  7. Real but possibly not as rich as he was. http://www.tribune.ie/business/news/article/2009/mar/01/cinema-groups-anderson-behind-thomas-read-bid/
  8. Ha! hes gone! **** ****ks pink **** goose grease.
  9. Sorry. I am now ignoring it so assiduously i cant even see it anymore.
  10. So, not at the training ground then. Bugger.
  11. Thats odd. He was working at the Euro Lottery earlier today. Still, must have moved on I suppose.
  12. A club in Belfast playing the English league would have massive support and potential. Not sure I want it to be this one though....
  13. Used to be the red light area, full of streetwalkers. I had a 6ft tall long haired male friend with a beard who got kerb crawled, briefly. edit: Ah. Bit slow, sorry. I think perhaps you knew that already you little agent provacateur.
  14. No idea -sorry. Like you, I just hope its true.
  15. It could be him. Apparently he affectionately wrote 'Where the streets have no shame' about Derby Road.
  16. Persoanally I'd give the original poster some credence, if only for his lack of posting history and 'look at what I know' style. Funny to read the subsequent 'yeah I heard that too' posts tho.
  17. Thats what they'd like you to think. Its not a good diplomatic move to go around saying 'yeah I'm still stonkingly loaded' when theres a recession on. Also cuts you some slack from the begging letters.
  18. No. I make it about £69,300 per goal.
  19. ah. ta
  20. This thread cheers me up. If we had got where were are because we regulalrly let fantastic players slip through our fingers it would make things even worse. Given the number of young players and trialists who have passed through over the years, it doesnt seem like we've misjudged too many.
  21. Can't we rename it 'base camp bid' or something more in keeping.
  22. You're right. Not all are spotty and some are grown up geeks and wannabees.
  23. How come so many of Crouch's friends are from pompey? Why is Mark Wotte his friend? Why is Mark Wotte down as from Manchester and his friends include Rio Ferdinand and Michael Carrick? So many questions, so few answers.
  24. Went there a few times for Brighton 'home' games. Not the best day out to be honest.
  25. TBH I havent really followed him at Sunderland. Has he improved, is he worth more than sold him for? Do we have a sell on?
