The boy's on a hiding to nothing with our fans. Bought for a record fee, to be thrust up front in a non-attacking team, and isolated for the majority of each match. Yet the boo boys are out in force!

Saw the whole game, here in the land down under. I have to say, win aside, that was not a convincing performance by any means, 5 yards forward 20 yards back, seems to be our modus operandi, and that makes for boring football. Why oh why, our players are scared to take on the opposition, or knock and run, is beyond me, when Liverpool played this triangular football, they played it moving forward, we play it backwards, towards our own goal. My mom was McCarthy, not just for his saves, but for the calm confidence he seems to give the whole defence. 5 shots tells the story of our attack, we get the ball up there, then either give it away, or play it back to the halfway line. 6/10 for the team performance, I still want this useless manager out, winning this match only papers over the problems largely created by him.

My understanding is, that he was asked to change the way he set the team out, and he refused, then was sacked. I stand to be corrected.

At 64, I thought I'd seen it all with Saints,thought I'd heard it all, but never ever did I think that we would have a regime in place, who seem to want us relegated. There are good reasons to want to stay up, but I suspect, there are good reasons to see us relegated. Just think about it. Will he get his money back, you bet your life on it. This manager will get us relegated!

All we need is a short term solution, someone on a huge bonus to keep us up, then look for a long term decent manager in the summer, even if we have to pry a manager away from another club.

Forgetting of course, all the very low selling prices we got for our players from Liverpool etc, or have you airbrushed that out from your agenda?

So, before the fixtures come out, the PL will know who will be in Europe, so arrange for them and them only to have a winters break, and they can play all their fixtures that they would have between themselves, at the seasons end, after the CL final, whilst all the other clubs have a normal season, and a normal summer break.

Kinda gets me this, like people saying soccer, when it's football, but they are laws not rules. Just a thing that grates, sorry!

Watched in Oz, so the full game, on good tv. We deserved that win, just look at the stats. Lemina mom, JWP gets an honourable mention. Some have posted about a new captain, well folks, he played today, he scored, and he was mom, I give you Captain Lemina!

This, as soon as I saw the lineup, I knew we would not win. Who the hell sanctions our 4 most expensive players being on the bench, why buy them? Davis is a busted flush, not a starter anymore, hasn't been for over a year. Even my wife agreed we were 'not very good' and she hates football. Sack that useless excuse for a manager.
