Just my opinion, but from what I've seen of Liverpool this season (and we get every game shown multiple times here in Oz), if they had signed VVD in the summer, the would be up there with City. If they had played fair with us, that is.

How many coaches do you need to train 22 grown men, who profess to know how to kick a ball. By my reckoning, there will be four coaches without Black.

We're in Australia, have been for the past four years. My wife organises it to be sent to her now 87 year old father in Leicester, who is a Southampton lad, he loves getting it, so will be very upset (and confused) that it no longer arrives. Like many, when leaving the Dell (St Mary's), I always bought a copy prior to going home. Sad times.

We sort of did! If Yoshida moved across to RWB, VVD,Hoedt, and Bertrand as CB's and McQueen as LWB, we could of maintained our formation. That is what I would of done.

My thoughts. ..................................Forster................................ .............Yoshida............VVD..........Hoedt................ Cedric........................Romeu.......................Bertrand .............PEH............Gabbiadini........Lamina............. ..................................Long.................................... Long to pin their defence back, Gabbiadini to score our two goals, PEH and Lemina to add some bite to the midfield, but also some attacking threat, the two wingbacks to give us width and the rest to defend.

It's been reported over here, that the meeting was a full blooded, everyone gets a say, meeting, with Coaches, players and some management. Make of it what you will, but the performance against Everton, was far better.

Even better for me here in Perth W.A. 2130, 2130 and 2000 hrs.

Rumours! rumours! it is whispered that he will be gone tomorrow. We will see. These are UK based rumours, not Aussie ones
-
There's a little bit of a whisper, that we will play three CB's.....not an itk post, just a whisper!
-
Will fit in well, he scored eight, yes EIGHT goals in three years at city.

It's been said several times........... “Insanity is doing the same thing, over and over again, but expecting different results.” As soon as I saw the team, I thought about the above quote. MoPe is an idiot to think that by playing the same formation, the same players, that he would get a different result. Make no mistake, we are in trouble, because the manager thinks, that we are playing well, and controlling games. He does't see that playing one up front, two defensive midfielders, and the ineffective Tadic and Redmond, is a problem. Cross after cross went into the opposition box, with only one or two of our players there, and it was a comfortable day for their two CB's. Like others, I'm asking, why oh why are we not trying 3-4-3 or even 3-4-1-2, try something different, because....... “Insanity is doing the same thing, over and over again, but expecting different results.”

Yoshida is quick, can play on the right, can cross the ball, and can score! I was going to have McQueen instead of Bertrand imo, that would make us more attacking!
-
At home, Burnley, we should be the attacking team imho. --------------------------------Forster-------------------------------------- -------------Stephens---------Van Dijk--------------Hoedt---------------- Yoshida------------------------Romeu-----------------------------Bertrand ------------------------Davis----------------Boufal------------------------- -----------------------Gabbi-------------------Long--------------------------
-
It's not the players, it's the way he wants them to play!

This ^^^ Poetry my man. I do not bash my beloved Saints, I have seen us at our worst, and loved us at our best, but! this is hard to watch football. The only manager, who's head I have called for, was Branfoot, but this guy needs to be gone. Worst error imho, was playing Boufal wide, we are crying out for attacking flair in the centre, and he plays the one player capable of it, wide! Also, why switch back to this formation, the diamond gave us hope for one game. Slate me! but Davis causes a lot of our non-attacking problems, like Tadic JWP etc, he so often receives a ball, takes a couple of steps, then lays it back to a player further back than the one he received it from. Like others, I'd say we have some good players, but they are scared to play as they can, why? Whilst not advocating relegation, I do fear this will be a season of struggle under this man, we have some hard games coming up, and could be in a confidence sapping bottom of the table fight come Christmas.
-
Boufal central, and Tadic left, that team will work.
-
You believe that Redmond is better than Boufal, really! or that Yoshida is better than Hoedt! come on!
-
What's with this manager, we paid a lot of money for Hoedt Boufal Hojbjerg etc, and they aren't getting game time...why?
-
Getting a bit tasty now, lots of big hits going on, face offs etc, can see a red card happening. Very fast and open game.

Watching Utd v Spurs in the land down under. Utd having the best of the early exchanges.
-
Count how many players he beat, from first turning with the ball, and including the last two defenders and the keeper......eight I make it!
-
I thought that was how he started out, early in his career.
-
Why not, what we have put out so far has not worked. .....................McCarthy.................... ....Yoshida..........VVD.......... Hoedt.... Cedric...Stephens...Romeu....McQueen ...............Lemina.....Boufal............... ..................Gabbiadini.....................

No to the Scottish teams, why should they get a free pass into our top league, while our lower league clubs have to do it the hard way. These are the lot, that want to break away from the United Kingdom. Sod 'em, if they come, they should have to do it the hard way, from outside the leagues, and move up via promotion, but for me, no.

Just to say, I watched the whole match here in the land down under. I have just watched it again this morning. We are sh1te! fact. Even the commentators pointed out, that our sideways passing was easy to defend against, and our attack was ineffective. Now me, I rarely criticise my team, but this was truly a dire affair. Redmond was a total waste of space, Long needs to learn the offside rule, as for Tadic, see Redmond. As said by another poster, if something is not working, change it, don't keep repeating the same mistake match in match out. This was not pleasant viewing, and imho, if we continue to play this boring sideways, backwards football, we will have a season of struggle. Stoke were weakened in defence, yet apart from the last five minutes or so, we never tested them. Things need to change
