They done it up sometime in the last 10 years so, whilst it's lost a bit of it's "authentic filmset going into ruin" charm it's now much more of a polished tourist attraction..... Which reminds me, I hosted an IT conference (ZZZzzzzz) in Malta a few years back and we held our gala evening at Popeye Village and the star attraction was the 'hamster lottery'.....large table, with live hamster and 21 numbered hamster houses....everyone buys a ticket with a hamster house number on it and the winner takes all if the hamster goes into the house with your number. Hours of un-PC entertainment!

That used to bne the case but the last time I was there (a few years ago now) they had started to use the same give way protocol that we do....I say 'started'...which made it interesting as it was a bit hybrid at that stage!
  10. First aerial picture from SSN:
  11. Tony Adams?
  12. Wrong planet mate. You should try the planet I live on....
  13. I hereby declare that I am changing my forecast for our first transfer window signing to 31st January. Not that I'm getting impatient or owt (chook)
  14. Fair point. That'l teach me to stop drinking for 24 hours
  15. Has he got a briefcase?
  16. But isn't that piecemeal approach too risky as he may run out of negotiating time in due course, or be usurped by an earlier bid from another team? Contracturally, is there any obligation to purchase a player if a bid is accepted? If yes, then I understand the stepping stone approach, but if there is no obligation then I can't see any advantage in delaying bids for the 2nd, 3rd, etc, choice layers on the wishlist.
  17. Time for a sweepstake on our first signing of the window. 13th Jan for me
  18. Why are we only bidding for two players (as far as we know)? Let's say the average success rate of getting a bid accepted is 25% we could end up getting no-one if we cast our net too selectively. Why not target, say, 10 - 15 players who CDAJFU and put a bid in for each early doors. We can always back down on some of the deals if we get too many bids accepted. But there again, I know nothing about football management.
  19. How can a manager arbitarily not rate a player who has played for their country and in the Champions League? Surely it's either a personality clash or, as Pardew suggested in an interview a while back, that Saga doesn't fit into his way of playing. That doesn't mean he doesn't rate him as an individual per se. IMHO of course
  20. Why would Pardew only be looking at the pool of 'available' players? Surely he should be looking at ALL players and targetting the ones he feels he needs? 'Available' or not. Surely?
  21. Keane set out to wind up Saints fans. Sounds like he was successful. Why give him the satisfaction of taking his bait? The more people that try and goad and abuse him the happier he'll be. Think about it.
  22. Well, since you ask....[bANG] [THUD]
  23. hmmmm... Whoops, pondering has started early...
  24. Wouldn't surprise me. Gosh, an ironic thought has just popped into my head....say we get P*mpey in the next round at home, we could inadvertantly end up helping to keep them afloat by attracting a full house and TV income....I can see the headlines now...."Saints Fans Save Pompey's Bacon".....unless no-one turned up of course....
