  1. Obviously, the poor performance and result against Derby last isn't significant enough in isolation to put us into administration but I wonder how close it could be to being the straw that breaks the camel's back?
  2. How do you know he was first....?
  3. Was it me or did we have 7 players 'up front' when we kicked off in the second half....I thought I was watching a rugby kick off for a minute
  4. It's won't be "fair" to compare Wotte and Pearson purely on match statistics at the end of the season as Wotte had the 'advantage' of being within the club for 9 months whereas Pearson came in cold.
  5. Went to the game last night....and, woe is me, what a difference in terms of passion and 'esprit de corps' from the Cardiff game. It's a long time since I've been to 'back-to-back' games and the difference was scary. That said, I think Derby came with a plan to snuff us out and succeeded. They commanded midfield (thanks to one Mr Savage). Our centre backs were our best players along with Gillett. Frustrating to say the least.
  6. Hasn't spending gone up in some parts of the business though...i.e. playing Saga and Skacel week in, week out?
  7. Lowe point for Southampton 21-01-09 Southampton's beleaguered chairman Rupert Lowe, who regained a club left in financial meltdown by the chronic mismanagement of the regime that forced him out of office, will have to make a major decision by the third week of March. That is whether to put the club into administration and take the Football League’s 10-point penalty this season. Southampton, whose bank Barclays are threatening to reduce their overdraft facility considerably, have to find extra monies by the end of next month to keep afloat. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/article-1125028/Charles-Sale-Premier-League-turn-Hero-Fund-cash-villain.html Anyone know if we found these "extra monies by the end of (the) month"? (i.e. by end of February)
  8. Get biting folks...
  9. It's ok. We'll already be in administration by then.....
  10. Same team or time to inject a few fresh legs? http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/articles/article.php?page_id=11467 Saints' Dutch coach refused to use 'tiredness' as an excuse for his team's first defeat in four matches. Southampton came off second best against promotion chasing Birmingham City at St. Andrew's, but according to Wotte, the recent glut of fixtures was not behind Saints' 1-0 defeat. "It was obviously a third game in a week for Birmingham too," he said, "so it's an easy excuse but I won't use it. "Maybe, you never know, not a lot of players are used to playing this kind of rhythm to play Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday, with so much pressure. "We gave three matches everything, 100 per cent, and I think you need to keep it as simple as possible. We will have to make a quick switch to two home games and we have to be as good as the matches against Cardiff and Preston North End to beat both Derby and QPR and it's a big challenge for us." Wotte will also be expecting improved performances from many of the players who he felt weren't up to their recent high standards against Birmingham. "I thought Chris Perry and Kelvin Davis played an excellent game yesterday, but the rest could play better. "Our strikers didn't show as much quality as they have over the last couple of weeks. Marek and Jason and Matt Paterson, they were trying, but I think the two central defenders of Birmingham City played an excellent game as well and I give credit to them. "David McGoldrick had a very poor game I thought and I took him off at half time. Matt Paterson came on and he will always give you a lot of passion and he's trying. "They had to rotate with Jason Euell in the hole, because Jason's strong as well up front. But I felt that we couldn't win anything in the air, so then you have to change your play and you have to play more on the floor. "A 1-0 defeat at Birmingham City is not disgraceful, but it's frustrating that we didn't compete with them to get a point at least."
  11. Yes
  12. If that's the case, why didn't Wotte switch to a more defensive starting line-up?
  13. Why did we change from US to UK (or visa versa) server/supplier a few months ago? It was working 'ok' before then....We seem to be trying to dig ourselves out of a hole that we dug ourselves in the first place? (sorry for asking this ad infinitum. There's a fair chance that an answer will shut me up though.... )
  14. But things were "ok" on here (Saintsweb forum) until about Christmas/new year time at which point (I believe) the server/provider was moved to the USA from the UK. Can't we just go back to where we were when saintsweb first started?
  15. I suspect the truth has been.....
  16. This forum was working fine until switching servers/service at the turn of the year. If it ain't broke don't fix it? Just a thought.
  17. Does this mean we've given up on getting the forum working as good as it used to on match days or is this just an interim measure?
  18. Which begs the follow up question...."Who introduce van der Waals to Lowe?" Pullis?
  19. Or this one?
  20. What, this one...?
  21. It's only a planet, FFS
  22. I'm just Googling for an accompanying picture as we speak. One sec....
  23. Wotte was an intrinsic part of the "seamless team" that got us to where we were after 28 games, so to invite him to leave at the time of the initial march wasn't illogical. It's only since the protests and marches began that Wotte has made decent progress by instigating different tactics. So, no "confusion". Quite the opposite. HTH
  24. Wotton. I always had an inkling we should swap an attacking midfielder for a defensive one against Brum. Fate could be dealing us an opportunistic hand here....or not as the case may be...
