I've just found out from a reliable source that Cortese's nickname at school was 'boo'...something to do with him having a girl's name and the other lads trying to make out he was a bit of a girl's blouse when they shouted 'boo!' at him. Whilst initially derogatory, it stuck as a nckname and evolved into a term of endearment over the years. So, it turns out there were simply a few "in the knows" in the crowd who shouted "boo" when he appeared on the screen as a mark of respect. At least we'll all know to join in next time. Thread can be closed now we've cleared that one up.

I'm always game for a good old fashioned conspiracy theory, and must admit that this one crossed my mind on the toilet this morning, but I think this may be slightly too far fetched to be true...or is it....? ;-)

So, just to summarise then...we're all in wild agreement that there was some booing at the same time as Cortese appeared on the big screen but that there is no tangible evidence that it was directly aimed at him rather than a coincidence because Malwhiney had just walked onthe pitch. It's great to all agree about something at last. Hoorah

If you entered into a contract with said establishment (i.e. Purchased a ticket) and the level of service received did not match the level of service agreedat the time of purchase then you are entitled to a refund. As an amateur social observer, it's always intrigued me how people react to newspaper articles. If the article slags off something they like then the reaction is typically: "crap article" whereas if it's complimentary it's: "great article"
