  2. Sounds about right to me. I think they usually arrive between 11:30 and 12 for a 3pm game
  3. Cheers for that insight FF. Do you know if Sam instigated the move or whether it was primarily the club's idea?
  4. I would go even further and say its hilarious
  5. OK, I'm won over. So how rich should we allow rich people to get?
  6. I'm forever embarrassing myself on internet football forums with my lack of economics knowledge, so there's every chance I didn't know that
  7. Doesn't it depend what that 'one person' then does with their wealth? The richer they get the more they might give to charity, the more tax they might pay, the more jobs they might create, the more South Coast football teams they might rescue (cheers Markus ), etc...
  8. Given the richest 1% pay 35% of tax receipts (he said plucking figures out of the air) won't there be more welfare money available to those that need it most the more richer the richest 1% get?
  9. So, "national wealth" is finite...?
  10. How does Richard Brandon adding another £10m to his wealth (for example) affect the earning potential of someone in the lowest quintile?
  11. How do we know one is a direct cause of the other? How do we know that the bottom 20% wouldn't be as 'poor' as they are now if the richest 20% weren't getting richer? (And, yes, I haven't thought this through one jot...just thinking out loud with no attention to intellect whatsoever )
  12. Cheers - can't read that very well on my phone but that seems to suggest that 'the rich' getting richer doesn't make the less rich poorer?
  13. Fret ye not... People will moan about the fact there is nothing to moan about....
  14. If my understanding of the chronology is correct, Toby had already decided he wanted to move to Spurs *before" said expiry date...
  15. I've only skim read it but that report appears to be saying the the gap between 'the rich' and 'the poor' is skewed somewhat by virtue of the fact that the top 1% are getting richer at a higher rate than everyone else. If my relatively modest salary goes up by, say, 5% per annum, it doesn't make me any more or less happy with that rise if Richard Branson adds another £10m onto his wealth. Yes, the wealth gap between me and Branson grows but its a meaningless measure because I'm happy with my rise in the context of my earning potential. Of course, if it can be proven that the top 1% of people getting richer makes 'the poor' poorer then that is wrong and my back of fag packet philosophy is perhaps open to ridicule. Fire away...
  16. I think this article sums up the situation quite nicely... Iain Martin ‏@iainmartin1 Why Jeremy Corbyn is winning the Labour leadership race. (My latest for @CapX) http://www.capx.co/why-jeremy-corbyn-is-winning-the-labour-leadership-race/ … Owen Jones ‏@OwenJones84 @iainmartin1 We don't agree on much but this is a brilliantly thoughtful piece.
  17. BBC Solent Sport ‏@solentsport Ronald Koeman talks to Adam Blackmore about signing Steven Caulker & others.... https://audioboom.com/boos/3418815-ronald-koeman-talks-to-adam-blackmore-about-signing-steven-caulker-others … via @audioBoom #saintsfc #qpr
  18. Jordan Sibley seems to interject earlier and earlier in press conferences these days. Not sure if that's due to pressure from the written media or, for whatever reason (interferes with the training schedule?), the club doesn't want the press conference to drag on too long. It always used to stretch to 20 minutes or so but that's quite rare these days (unless my memory is playing tricks on me)
  19. He didn't mention him specifically. Probably just forgot to include him in the crocked list rather than being available I'd have thought.
  20. Koeman: "Everyone bar Gardon and Forster is fully fit for tomorrow. Every chance Jay could start"
  21. Happy with this one. Matches the profile of the type of player we usually go for.... young, international calibre but out-of-form / out-of-favour (ref. Lovren, Alderweireld)

Can't Boris lend them a couple of his spare water canons....?
  23. To be honest, I've never really given it too much thought. That said, its never leapt out at me as being "unfair" per se. I'm probably not the best person to ask as I rarely get to go to away games and pick-and-mix a max of c.10 home games per season. I've never had any problems or issues but maybe that's because I'm not as regular a user of said system as others.
