Southampton FC @SouthamptonFC #Vitesse midfielder Lewis Baker: "We saw in the last game that #SaintsFC are a very strong team. All we can do tomorrow is try our best." Baker: "#SaintsFC are a very big club. All we can do tomorrow is give our best and hopefully get three or four goals against them." #Vitesse coach Peter Bosz: "If you're realistic, it's going to be really difficult [to progress]. They have more mature quality." #saintsfc Bosz: "It is possible. Tomorrow we expect to have 20,000 people, which is fantastic after losing 3-0." #saintsfc Bosz: "Our fans were outstanding in Southampton, so we want to perform for them. The fans can help us – they did in that game." #saintsfc Bosz: "Everything is possible. There's still a chance – why not?" #saintsfc That's all from the #Vitesse press conference. We'll hear from @RonaldKoeman and @GPelle19 this evening. #saintsfc

It does seem a tad odd that UEFA seemingly don't take the most obvious differentiating factor into account. Clubs that compete in later qualifying rounds are in those rounds precisely because, last season, they outperformed the teams in the earlier rounds, ergo they should be considered the better team when it comes to seeding. However, that would be logical and this is UEFA we are talking about

If Slattery is as good as the 'hype' then I would hope to see him make his first team bow this season, albeit probably no more than as a League Cup sub. (Said trousers, playing the "if you're good enough you're old enough card")

Tartan Owl. For some unknown reason he went quiet after proclaiming that Wednesday were a far better League 1 side than Saints.

Echo the nice tribute sentiments, although I'm sure EA Sports would have had one eye on the extra 250,000 sales this will generate

Some of those already look tall enough to play in our midfield.... -
Gold is a precious metal. RBS is a commercial bank. Have I missed something somewhere as all I'm seeing is apples and oranges?
-
You're probably better off asking Mark Carney that question as it was his recommendation and he knows slightly more about this financial malarkey than I do (difficult to believe I know) What's you're alternative approach to stimulating the market so that the shares can be sold at a profit. Leaving 78.3% of the bank stagnating in government hands doesn't sound like the best approach to me.
-
Or, to paraphrase it without Tory bashing spectacles.... "Acting upon advice from the governor of the Bank of England, chancellor slightly reduces stake in RBS from 78.3% to 72.9% in order to stimulate growth thus raising the chances of being able to sell future stakes at a profit."

I've got this outlandish theory that some people will like it and some people won't. Bonkers I know.

He's got a decent number of bites though, so mission accomplished.

Koeman at Soton airport today at arrivals at 13:45

He was in Tescos at 16:30 buying sausages and Aunt Bessie's frozen hash browns. Make of that what you will. -
At the game. Something I've not noticed before but Targett seems to have a default mode of crossing the ball into the box the second after he receives the ball. Seems to do it all the time without weighing up his options, even when he has time to do so. Not a criticism per se, just an observation that I've not noticed before.

Of all our underated players I think Davis is the most rated of the underated. IMO of course.
