How does that train of thought account for the markedly different sign-off that the club have given to Shea "not Rickie Lambert" Charles today...? It's been pretty obvious to me over the years that when a player leaves under a bit of a cloud, the club the parting words (if any) from the club reflect that.

Given it was a solemn promise from Dragan, they don't have any choice but to build a team of that nature and stature, do they? Unless the thinking was / is: "the team that ended last year was exciting and got fans out of their seats, ergo, as long as we keep the majority of those players then Dragan's promise is fulfilled"...?
