I'd rather see Livramento in midfield and Walker-Peters back at right back.
-
It was vs the non full strength team of a 4th tier club. In the PL he looks out of his depth. Be nice if he proves me wrong, but I struggle to see anything he excels at when playing at PL level.

Hopefully Tom Leach asks this question at the press conference at 4pm today, as he liked my Tweet...
-
Why? It was vs the reserves of a 4th tier team. It shouldn't mean he jumps the pecking order for PL games.

Adam Armstrong recorded the fastest speed of any Premier League player in the opening round of games...
-
Call him a great ape instead, can't be a issue with that as it is true.
-
Changed his mind since January when he extended his contract until 2024?

Southampton 8 Sunderland 0 Newport County 0 Southampton 8 The only players to play in both matches... Shane Long & Fraser Forster!

A stream today looks extremely unlikely...

We are playing a 4th tier team who have made 6 changes themselves, if Tella, Broja, Long and Obafemi aren't enough of a striker selection to beat them then they really shouldn't be near a squad of a PL or Championship team.

Forster, Walker-Peters, Stephens, Bednarek, Valery, Diallo, Ward-Prowse [c], Redmond, Elyounoussi, Tella, Broja Subs: Lewis, Perraud, Salisu, Romeu, Walcott, Long, Obafemi

Recently laid pitch looks fine from a distance...

Saints can not loan another Chelsea player. The rules only allow one loan from another PL team at a time and Saints already have Broja. Saints also have Armstrong who can play in central midfield, with lots of alternatives to him not being in the AM role. Plus Smallbone will be back at some point soon.
-
I did not say he is a good first choice keeper. I'd prefer Fraser Forster to be playing. If McCarthy is staying and Forster leaving as seems the case, then I hope it is to be a back-up to the new keeper next summer.
-
Bednarek 6 foot 2 Salisu 6 foot 3 Lyanco 6 foot 2
-
What if any new 1st choice keeper we get is already relatively young, say 22 to 26 years old?
-
He isn't a great first choice keeper, but back-up keepers don't need to be amazing. Hopefully any new keeper we get next summer will be to go straight in as first choice.
