1) An endless cycle of lower league football and no progression isn't good. League One and the Championship promotions were fun supporting Saints... but it was fun because the club was progressing upwards. An endless stay in the lower leagues is not fun. 2) Which opinions? Not agreeing with someone doesn't mean you don't go to games. I wouldn't be doing my role for FM for the last 14 years without going to games home and away.

He knows the route, but breaks down regularly.

The other three have deeper squads and more resources behind them. Swansea and Bournemouth have built that up from recent time in the top league and Brentford have had a sustained period as a top Championship team. This season has been a sudden upturn in fortunes for Barnsley and they still have a lot of lower Championship elements to their setup.

I'd rather Barnsley went up. Not because I think Saints will be in a relegation battle, just that I want the weakest opponent possible to come up.

That would leave us with 2 PL quality fullbacks. I think we'll get two new fullbacks at worst, but hopefully three.

No they aren't. Recent recruitment has been pretty good. To compare now to the mess we were in from 2005 to 2009 is bizarre.

Beating Liverpool on 4th January to earn the 29 points possibly needed for safety (despite the panic on this forum we'd need a lot more than that). 😉

Not really, Hasenhuttl wants two players per position. Having 3 players for 2 places in the team is very risky. Having Armstrong play there weakens the team in the number 10 roles.

He is leaving things late, he isn't young any more at 25 years old and has struggled to make an impression in League Two.

It doesn't mean anyone is off. Hasenhuttl has stated he wants more depth. Playing Armstrong in CM does not add depth in terms of numbers as it removes him from the role he is first choice for as a 'number 10'.

As things stand he'd be our 3rd best player based on CA... behind Ings and Ward-Prowse.

Delaney is left footed which we rarely have had in our central midfielder line-up.

I don't think he does anything particularly bad in that video. The last goal he had an obscured view.

He is 6 foot 3. He is hardly small.
