Nathaniel Clyne Joins Liverpool - Official
Matthew Le God replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
You've only been on these forums since April 2015 and have already had me on ignore? Go me! Anyone with half a brain cell will see the more likely version of events is that your post is based on a previously published national newspaper story... and not rumours from a "friend of a player's wife" who the club happen to be keeping informed of transfer policy. Why are you even trying to maintain this nonsense? Perhaps you should put me on ignore, I wouldn't bother responding to your nonsense. Are you someone's alias? -

This "friend of a player's wife" is being kept informed of Liverpool's transfer strategy and Southampton's transfer strategy? hmmm that sounds likely... Can you understand why someone might think the more likely version of events is that you are basing it on a remarkably similar newspaper story that was published 8 hours before your post? -

Okay, you got it from someone else... who had read it in the Mirror. What you posted is not new information, it is merely a summary of a story that appeared on the Mirror website 8 hours earlier. Why are you pretending to be itk? -

Imagine the uproar on this site if Jordan Henderson said similar about Clyne joining Liverpool. -

- Retained list is all the players who are still under contract beyond 30th June 2015. - Released list is players who had a contract expiring in the summer (30th June 2015) and haven't been offered a new one. Gaston Ramirez contract expires on 30th June 2016, so he was never going to be on the released list.

If Pompey signed Micah Richards would that be an "average signing"? He'd be easily their best player. Which is why I asked what the definition of an "average signing" is.
-
Thats not a definition.
-
What is your definition of an "average signing"?

The 25 man Premier League squad is only for players over 21 years old. Lotus-Cheek, Brown and Baker are under 21 on cutoff date, Chalobah and Bamford are also under 21 on cutoff date (plus were out on loan in 2014/15) and aren't included in 25 man squad.

Stoke first had red and white stripes in 1883, but in their first 45 years of existence they went through many different colours and designs before settling with red/white stripes in 1908 (but not entirely until 1915). http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Stoke_City/Stoke_City.htm
-
Its nonsense, Saints were formed in 1885 and we didn't start wearing red and white stripes until 1896. In 1896 Stoke were wearing this red and blue striped kit...
-
How do you know what the process was or what else Saints were doing? It is possible to be in negotiations with multiple players at the same time.
-
Why would it matter if we hadn't?
-
Yep, any promotion pay rise was probably countered with a relegation drop again. But then this is QPR... so who knows!

He last signed a contract as a Championship player and is currently on £28,000 p/w if you believe... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2910450/Charlie-Austin-60-000-week-deal-stand-QPR-striker-indicates-wait-summer-deciding-stay.html http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/charlie-austin-set-to-earn-over-50000-a-week-as-qpr-bid-to-secure-strikers-longterm-future-with-new-contract-9852902.html http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/443141/EXCLUSIVE-Villa-prepare-15m-bid-Chelsea-Liverpool-target-Charlie-Austin

If we didn't win the FA Cup wearing yellow and blue in 1976 would these Saints fans still have a fixation that every away kit from now on has to be yellow and blue? Did our away kit future come down to a coin toss for who out of Saints and Man Utd would play in their away kit? Saints didn't always wear yellow and blue away kits before 1976, should they really have to after 1976?

Hull City would probably have paid us a loan fee to have Ramirez on loan. As would Inter Milan, Juventus and Boca Juniors for Osvaldo. So that is recouping some of the money as well, plus some of their fees from Roma and Bologna would probably have been for appearances/goals etc which neither has a great deal of for us so we wouldn't have paid the full price.

Krueger: The Europa League is not a negative for Southampton
Matthew Le God replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
No we didn't. - Saints were last in Europe in the 2003/04 (playing two games vs Steaua Bucharest early in the season) - Saints were relegated from the Premier league in 2004/05
