There is a British embassy in Senegal, but as Ghana is a member of the Commonwealth and a former British colony and Senegal isn't then I'd guess the Accra British embassy is more substantial than the one in Dakar and easier for him to sort out his papers in Ghana.

Koeman linked to Newcastle (During the summer... sort of)
Matthew Le God replied to bangkoksaint's topic in The Saints
Utterly, utterly, utterly bizarre! But to be expected with your post history. -
Koeman linked to Newcastle (During the summer... sort of)
Matthew Le God replied to bangkoksaint's topic in The Saints
Its depressing if you always (and with you always means ALWAYS) look for the negative. This thread is based on something that isn't true, a read of the article it is based on shows that. The BBC were unable to comprehend the article and gave a very poor summary which distorted it to say something it didn't. "It will happen" - why on earth would Koeman want to leave Saints to go to Newcastle? We'd be better off if this thread was locked by the mods to stop the likes of alpine_saint having panic attacks and slitting their wrists. -

The opening post of the thread isn't true. Read post #5 and cheer the f**k up... http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?51774-Koeman-linked-to-Newcastle-(During-the-summer-sort-of)&p=2051356#post2051356 -

Koeman linked to Newcastle (During the summer... sort of)
Matthew Le God replied to bangkoksaint's topic in The Saints
The BBC haven't read the story correctly and have given it a very misleading link on their website... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/gossip/ But the actual article on the Daily Star website says no such thing... http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/399727/EXCLUSIVE-Newcastle-line-up-replacements-as-pressure-on-Alan-Pardew-grows So the Daily Star say if Pardew had gone in the summer then Newcastle would have considered Koeman, they do not say he would be in contention now he is at Saints if Pardew was sacked. The BBC need to hire some people who are able to read English and comprehend it. It is the BBC you need to aim your "drivel" claim at, not the Daily Star. -
It was actually 41 passes.

None of us have even seen Alderweireld or Mane play at all for Saints, let alone giving the other new players a good amount of game time before writing them off compared to those they replaced. The only player I'm confident won't be an upgrade... is Bertrand for Shaw, but even still he's been very solid so far.

Would you not agree that it is a little too early to judge this?

Despite some claiming Saints were cutting back wages with outgoing/incomings players he says "we've raised salaries".

The pre-match press conference is this afternoon. Alex Goring Crook @alex_crook 2h Off to see @RonaldKoeman this afternoon. Send me any burning questions you have for the #saintsfc boss

The article suggests he might not start on Saturday due to the amount of travelling he'll do close to the match, it doesn't rule out him being a sub.

Hard to take Adam Leitch (the Echo's chief sports writer) seriously when he says things like... All four are predominately right footed.

Saints under Pochettino beat Newcastle 4-0 at St Mary's last season. We were completely dominant all over the pitch and destroyed them.

It would be useful if rumour threads like this had a link or at the very least an indication of their source, rather than something as vague as this as an opening post...

Southampton whiz Harrison Reed gets senior England chance
Matthew Le God replied to Bermuda Saint's topic in The Saints
Along with Harrison Reed the England senior team during the week also used an Exeter City keeper and Barnsley midfielder to make up the numbers in training. Reed does look promising, but by itself him training with the senior team doesn't appear to mean a huge deal. Later that day Reed was on the bench for England under 20's, so was the Barnsley midfielder and Exeter City keeper. Looks more like them just using players from the under 20's who weren't going to start for the under 20's that day to make up numbers for the senior England side who were training at the same training ground. -
Is Andy Awford blind? His glasses choice on Sky Sports 1 vs Burton Albion suggest he is.

Yes, because Shane Long earning £50k p/w is a slight rise on his Hull wages and he has just had a £12m move. For a £27m (rising to £31m) player like Shaw to be on £50k p/w, it stands out as extremely low. Again as Steve Grant said, perhaps the £50k p/w you believe it to be is after tax, which given the bracket Shaw would be in makes his wage significantly higher than £50k p/w.

As Steve Grant said to you, it might be £50k p/w after tax. Because a £27m (rising to £31m) player on £50k p/w stands out as being extremely low. If he really is on £50k p/w he needs to find himself a new agent, because others could get him a far better deal than that, especially when negotiating with Ed Woodward!
