And our reserves beat a Championship side easily in the last round. Do you not think our reserves are stronger than Crystal Palace's?
-
Do you? Why? The bench for the 5-1 away win over Championship team Barnsley in the 2nd round was... 01 K Davis 02 Clyne 03 Yoshida 06 Fonte 13 Fox 08 S Davis 10 Ramirez 18 Cork 27 Isgrove (Rowe - 72' ) 09 Rodriguez (Reed - 81' ) 24 Mayuka (Sinclair - 90' ) Substitutes 25 Gazzaniga 16 Ward-Prowse 22 Chambers 39 Sinclair 35 Stevens 37 Rowe 38 Reed I think most (if not all) of the starting XI for the Crystal Palace game next Saturday won't be involved at all tomorrow and it'll be fringe players in the starting XI and youngsters on the bench. Lambert, Lallana, Boruc, Shaw, Clyne, Schneiderlin, Wanyama, Osvaldo, Lovren etc all probably won't feature and they shouldn't need to. The starting XI from the Barnsley team is more than strong enough to beat a League One team, as they should in the last round vs. a Championship side.

He is a Man Utd fan, so may explain the predicting Liverpool to lose.

Vague predictions can bite you on the arse.
Matthew Le God replied to Barry Sanchez's topic in The Saints
Is that not what Wanyama said...? Journalist #1: In terms of what you thinks achievable this season for this team, what would you like to see them achieve? Wanyama: Obviously first is to just do better than last season and then we will see what will happen. Journalist #1: Do you think thats possible? Wanyama: I think yeah its possible. Journalist #2: Do you think Champions League football is possible with Southampton? Wanyama: Yeah, I believe one day, you know, everything, step by step, then I believe one day we will be also there. -
So something like this then...? Boruc Clyne Fonte Lovren Shaw Wanyama Schneiderlin Ramirez Osvaldo Lallana Lambert Subs: K.Davis, Yoshida, Chambers, S.Davis, Cork, Ward-Prowse, Rodriguez

He was asked a question, he gave an answer. He didn't start the Champions League talk, a journalist started that line of questioning and he gave an answer. He didn't say "Saints will be in the Champions League next year". What would you prefer him to say to such a line of questioning? -

If you don't know the context of the answer, how can you make comments like this criticising Wanyama...? You can see his answer in context at yesterday's press conference on Saints Player. I'd watch that before cringing at "constant rhetoric". It is the media that keep asking Pochettino and the players questions about the Champions League, it is not the Saints 1st team coaches and staff that bring it up. -

Can they? How? In any case Wanyama didn't even make a prediction. What would you prefer him to say after being asked such a question? -

The Return of Tadanari 'Chun' Lee
Matthew Le God replied to SaintJackoInHurworth's topic in The Saints
I doubt we'll see much of him in the Premier League unless lots of injuries and suspensions kick in. He is adding to depth of the squad outside the matchday 18 and I'd guess he'll play vs Bristol City later this month. -

Its not been announced by SI or SEGA yet.

Have Sharp (or Martin, Tadanari Lee, Barnard, Forte) been seen training with the first team at all this season in training videos or photo galleries? No

How much is Southampton Football Club worth?
Matthew Le God replied to kwsaint's topic in The Saints
If you use the "Fulham are in London" argument, does the same apply to Crystal Palace? Both of them don't have the facilities at the stadium/training ground/academy/Jackson's Farm land that Saints do, nor the fanbase size. -
How much is Southampton Football Club worth?
Matthew Le God replied to kwsaint's topic in The Saints
Southampton Football Club has never legally been in administration, so it has never needed a CVA. This is where you can stump Pompey fans with the difference between the two situations, because both Portsmouth FC and the holding company CSI were legally in administration during their last financial crisis. That led to a CVA being needed to dilute the previous failed CVA. -
