How many games have you seen him play to judge this 22 year old international "****"? He was the golden boot winner at the 2012 African Cup of Nations and played for the side that won the tournament, he also turned the game towards Saints vs. Tottenham at St Mary's and looked very useful. Yes, he has only had cameo appearances but I wouldn't be so quick to write him off as you seem to be! Same applies for Vegard Forren.
-
Umm.. you are the one complaining of the quality of players and saying we are in a relegation fight! All I did was point out to you that the players we signed that you are complaining about have taken a newly promoted side to closer to 11th place than 17th place after 30 games.
-
He has been playing right back recently for both Saints under 21's and England under 19's.
-
The players we signed last summer have played a key role in getting us closer to 11th place than the relegation zone after 30 Premier League games.
-
Are you aware how tight the league table is and Saints are actually closer to 11th place than the relegation zone. Isn't that good for a newly promoted side and maybe the player purchases this season aren't doing as badly as you make out?
-
He is a square peg in a square hole. Saints play a 4-2-3-1 system, Ramirez is a quality creative midfielder, 22 year old, Uruguayan international that is ideal for the number 10 role in such a formation. If we continue to sign players for relegation battles, thats were we'll stay.
-
So you think Ramirez should start home games? Weren't you advocating him not being signed?
-
Given we signed him for £2m and Crystal Palace have a sell on clause %, £7m would give Saints next to no profit for a player that could be England's right back in years to come. If he did go, it'll be for a lot more than £7m. I don't think Cortese would let him go easily either.
-
Care to elaborate on that a little?
-
So to be in relegation battle it is best to do without players with quality like Ramirez clearly has? Bizarre logic to that. To be in a relegation fight you have to buy ****ter players? Really? I'm glad you aren't running the club!!! Ramirez helps Saints win games that should lead to them being safe from relegation. He is not an "ego signing" by Cortese, he is a signing of real quality that improves the quality of the team. Without him we'd have less of a chance of opening teams up.

We have an 18 year old - the England under 19 captain...
-
Stop it Turkish! It is hard to find myself agreeing with you!
-
The reasons you stated...
-
They don't have to be English to count as "home grown", they can be any nationality.
-
Saints will have to pay players more than £30k p/w to move up a level. They already have players on more than that anyway.

Why is hating pompey seen as a bad thing on this forum?
Matthew Le God replied to Tom8558's topic in The Saints
This forum is for Saints news, the Pompey thread in the lounge forum is for us to laugh at the Skates. That doesn't mean it is seen as a "bad thing", just that these forums are organised so they don't become a mess and have all subjects in the same forum. It is better if topics are separated so you can find them more easily. -
That is a bizarre way to look at it. A superb cross knocked down by a player and then someone else has a shot that goes in wouldn't could as an assist for the original crosser of the ball. Nor would a superb cross that leads to an effort on goal or a chance for an effort on goal. Judge their crossing on its own merit of being a good cross or not, not on if someone puts the ball in the net afterwards. Shaw and Clyne have both put in some superb crosses this season on numerous occasions.
-
Really? Shaw in particular is a great crosser of the ball.

The article tells you.

Lallana has still scored more league goals this season than Danny Welbeck. If your basis for international recognition for attacking players is solely goals, what about Jay Rodriguez and Jason Puncheon? They have outscored Welbeck and are both close to Sturridge.
-
Jack Cork? Adam Lallana?

Saints make 8 million bid for Athletico's Adrian Lopez

Don't mock it... Exhibit A Exhibit B http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Everton-using-Football-Manager-computer-game-article33798.html Plus numerous other examples of the professional game using it. -
I wasn't arguing, just adding to what you said.
