  1. Stoke City have picked up 5 points in the whole of 2013! For Saints to go down ALL the teams from 12th to 18th need to do better than Saints (many significantly better as they are a number of points and GD behind us), it simply isn't going to happen and given teams will have to take points off each other. Saints are actually very close to mathematical safety. It isn't just a case of "Can the current 18th place team catch Saints?", everyone else has to aswell.
  2. We would need to win with a 4 goal margin, which would then put us equal on goal difference but move above them on goals scored.

    Top ten

Only if we win by 4 goals.
  4. In order for Saints to go down they have to be overtaken by EVERY team from 12th to 18th. It is extremely unlikely ALL those from 12th to 18th will all be able to overtake Saints as they have to play each other (taking points away from one or both teams) and the big boys (where they are less likely to get anything). A Sunderland win was by far the best result and I'm glad it happened. Saints are looking to finish anywhere upto 9th (possibly even 8th as we have a game at home vs West Brom to make up points on them), so keeping Newcastle as far behind us as possible was the best result.
  5. Is it? Saints won't go down and Saints should be looking to finish in mid table. A Sunderland win is the best result for that, so today has gone very well for us.
  6. Gary Lineker tweets it every Saturday... Gary Lineker ‏@GaryLineker 3h The running order is as follows; Ars/Nor, Eve/QPR, AV/Ful, Sou/WHU, Rea/ Liv. A lot better than it looked at half time. #MOTD BBC1 10.20
  7. Why? Villa won't catch us and Fulham can still be caught by us. A Villa win would be best.
  8. The current one looks like what it is - an amateurish fan design from the 1970's.
  9. We didn't have black short from 1885 to 1950!
  10. People would have been outraged in 1974 that we were changing to the new badge, there is always a starting point for "tradition". If we changed it in 2013, in 40 years time people could say as you just did if in 2053 there was talk of changing it again... Sour Mash April 2053... "2013 to 2053 - 40 years, so all that at least 75% of our support can remember in their life-time."
  11. When I saw your name I already knew that you would have quoted me and criticised my post within minutes and then made some petty personal insult.
  12. From 1885 to 1974 we didn't have it. 89 years! That is 70% of the club's existence without the current badge!
  13. Do you put money on a draw aswell?
  14. Adam Lallana is currently trending in the UK on Twitter, you don't get that when Portsmouth tie a player down to a new month to month deal.
  15. Not completely, he is an Everton fan.
  16. 17. There are far worse grounds than Wigan's or Millwall's in eastern Europe that play in UEFA competitions every year.
  18. That doesn't really hold water, Everton are currently in the top 6 and Saints had a bigger spend and a bigger net spend than them this season. I think we also had a bigger net spend than Arsenal and Spurs. What does "even if we spent big for us" in Summer 2013 mean? Saints were the 7th highest net spenders in the whole of European football last summer.
  19. MLG beats Turkish Victory Dance!
  20. The Kraken was talking about improving the squad in the summer of 2013, not what we did in the summer of 2012.
  21. Turkish Registered User o Wow, my dream came true.
  22. Their new chairman Iain McInnes said today the debt will £0 and the club will be relatively cash rich for the first time in many years, but he is forgetting the £8m player compromise payments (covered by the parachute payments but it is still debt) and whatever they have to pay Chainrai as the "add-ons" as they were described today on top of the £3m for Fratton Park. He came across as amateurish before today and is continuing that trend. It doesn't bode well for them and boardroom infighting and lack of funding will likely tear apart any future of football "fan ownership wonderland" for the world to follow. http://www1.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/teams/portsmouth/8629723/portsmouth-fc-saved It'll started with tears in the courtroom today and it'll end in tears with a 4th administration with the lunatics running the asylum to a business plan shot full of flaws due to overestimating the fan-base and club.
