He played for the Saints youth side for a year and also 11 games for the 1st team in 8 years at the club.

They aren't anywhere near being a south coast team! Reading is roughly 60 miles (by road) north of Portsmouth.

Pompey Trust on twitter 50 minutes ago... "The Trust understands that an announcement from PFC in 48 hours will say the CSI takeover is completed. We await details. Several sources have broken cover and Portsmouth News are running a story tomorrow."

The Chamberlain Dilemna.......
Matthew Le God replied to John McGrath's Jockstrap's topic in The Saints
What makes you think Saints won't sign players without selling first? Adkins and the new scout have both indicated the club is spending this summer. If Saints are going to spend money regardless, why sell a first team regular? If you sell Chamberlain, who are you going to get that is better than him? Chamberlain decided to sign a 3 year deal last year, you don't need to set him a deadline, he agreed to stay contracted in a 3 year deal. -
It isn't really new "news", director of football Barry Fry, owner Darragh MacAnthony and manager Darren Ferguson have made it clear for months that Boyd, Lewis and Mackail-Smith were leaving regardless of Peterborough going up or not.
-
No, his contract at Peterborough ends on 30th June 2012.
-
They are both 23 years old.
-
They signed a quick striker yesterday and bid for another striker, looks like they made other plans.
-
Well he played in 36 out of 38 league games (on as sub 6 times) for a Premier League top 10 team this season.
-
Because he isn't out of contract.

Everton came 4th in 2005. A good managerial appointment (like Moyes and hopefully Adkins) and sensible planning/investment can work wonders in a league of many clubs trying to buy instant success.
-
Is a training ground that wouldn't look out of place at a top 4 club not the evidence you need?

What was the £20m example?

Had them for a while... Analyst - Stephen Corns Analyst - Andrew Stone All this is good to hear, especially when it comes from a normally pessimistic forum member like hypochondriac!

Always a little strange when people bring this up. Every Saints fan should really want the club to go up next season, it will mean Saints have the money from the Premier League early in order to improve the club. It also means the best players won't necessarily leave next summer as the like of Chamberlain may stay to play for the first season with Saints in the Premier League. If Saints do keep Chamberlain for next season and don't go up, it is likely he'll be off. In any case, Cortese has stated in public interview the intention is not merely to get the club to the Premier League to wallow around the lower reaches, it is to compete towards the top. He has access to the funds to do this. Even if Saints were to be relegated the parachute payments of nearly £50m put the club in a stronger position to go up again than if they didn't have the parachute payments.

Not always. But Premier League games against some of the biggest clubs in the world are more attractive than those against Doncaster and Barnsley.

"Paki" is considered racist because it is used in a derogatory manner to label people in a negative way. If the people of the world understood that there really is no such thing genetically as "race" and we are just human, it would be a much better place! Sadly it is unlikely to happen anytime soon.
-
Even using terms like "caucasian" doesn't really work. Go back far enough and we all have common ancestors, where do you draw the line for each "race"? As I said earlier...there is the same amount of genetic variation among individuals within a so called racial group as there is between individuals in different racial groups. What that means is that there is no real genetic difference between blacks and whites or between whites and Asians or between any of the so called races.
-
You were the one that implied the English were a race. Not me.
-
The English aren't a race. There is no such thing as "race", in terms of genetics.

Q.P.R. have an 18k capacity, which means that the supply can't meet the demand. If they had a stadium like St Mary's, I'm sure they wouldn't charge quite as much. Also it is in London, so London prices. Thus they can get away with increasing prices.

Already knew it was likely to happen given the retained list statement on 20th May. But now confirmed... http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2366238,00.html Just Oscar Gobern left to sort his out. Nick asked a question, answered it and then thanked himself for answering it. You must be in a little bit of trouble if you do that!

number of saints fans at wembley last year for trophy final
Matthew Le God replied to wokingsaints's topic in The Saints
Official attendance was 73,476 - Carlisle failed to sell out their allocation of 24,506 and I doubt there where many neutrals at the game like with the FA Cup or League Cup final. - Saints probably had over 50,000 of the 73,476 (even though it was officially 44,000 Saints fans). There would have been many more Saints fans there if Wembley had listened to Saints' ticketing plan and allowed Saints to bring their own stewards. -
Having a conversation with yourself Nick. First sign of madness?
