  1. I think you will find it hard to name a club that hasn't made significant changes to its kit. If you were a Saints fan in the 1950's how would you have felt when they changed the shorts and socks from the blue Saints had used for the previous 65 years?
  2. What is the traditional kit though? - For 52% of the club's history it had blue shorts and blue socks. - For 71% of the clubs history it didn't have the current badge style. - The % of the club's history where it had a yellow away kit is tiny. They should have stuck with the first kit in 1885. It is unique in England and looks good.
  3. That is an award voted for by people that wouldn't have seen Walcott play. A bit of perspective?
  4. From 1885 to 1950 Saints didn't have black shorts. They were blue. From 1885 to 1950 Saints didn't have red/white or white socks. They were blue. From 1885 to 1974 Saints didn't have the current fan designed in a competition club badge. From 1885 to 1896 and from 1980 to 1989 Saints didn't wear red and white stripes. Teams can change their kit style many have in the past. Leeds United everywhere are thought of as all white, but didn't wear white until the 1960's. A red sash makes Saints unique in English football and differentiates the kit from Sunderland, Sheff Utd, Stoke etc etc. and isn't a complete change as it links back to the club's roots. When everyone thinks of red sash let them think Saints (and Peru) . Docker-P would have had a nightmare if he were a fan in the 1950's when Saints started wearing black shorts and white/red socks for the first time after 65 years of blue socks. I think we should stick with the sash.
  5. Not joint top at all Nick! Yes, joint on points, but goal difference and goals scored is better which is how league positions are determined. It is only "joint top" if all these are equal.

  9. Chamberlain only signed a 3 year contract a mere 4 months ago!
  10. Saints have a game in hand on Huddersfield.
  11. Former Oldham player died earlier in the week. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/macclesfield_town/9355603.stm
  12. It has been on and working since 7pm.
  13. Butterfield can and has on numerous occasions played in midfield. Harding go come on at left back and move Dickson into midfield.
  14. Yes (apart from the corporate seats/boxes etc of course).
  15. Lots of options tonight for that... Guly has played on the right before and put Barnard upfront. or Lallana on the right, Dickson on the left and bring Harding on at left back. or Danny Butterfield on at right midfield, with Richardson behind to secure the right up late on to hopefully hold a lead.
  16. He is just quoting BBC Radio Solent who will have had that fed to them by Saints.
  17. Yes, on Saints Player.
  18. Puncheon is ill according to Radio Solent.
  19. That is no excuse really, sell the Carlisle ticket to a friend or relative at face value. I'll be in my season ticket seat in block 29
  20. There are more than 28,000 Saints fans (4,000 Man Utd fans will be there), 50,000 Saints fans went to Wembley and many thousands more missed out on that due to the allocation being too small. A lot of Saints fans that want to go won't get tickets for the Man Utd game as St Mary's isn't big enough. I'm sure you will find someone to buy the Carlisle ticket.
  21. As was said earlier...
  22. Sell the Carlisle ticket at face value to a friend/relative.
  23. It does answer it by omission.
  24. Van Dar Sar, Neville, O'Shea, Carrick, Vidic, Nani, Anderson, Berbatov, Giggs and Rooney all played when Saints last met Man Utd in 2009 as a soon to be relegated to League One team. I doubt Ferguson will take this game that lightly as he will know Saints now have a far stronger team and infront of a live worldwide audience and a packed St Mary's, it is a potential banana skin. I think he may only rest 2 or 3 players at most even though they have a game 3 days later at home to Aston Villa.
