If he hadn't signed, he wouldn't have been a Saints player beyond the summer. The club had to show ambition and money for signing on fee, wage increase, agent fees etc to keep him at the club rather than moving to a Premier League/Championship club.

Matthew Le God replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Saints
Depends on the Championship club in question as there can be huge differences in the amount of exposure different clubs get. For example there is a big difference between sponsoring S****horpe or Newcastle in the Championship. -
Saints signed Guly, Chaplow, Lallana, Forte and N'Guessan in January. The former three I'd hardly call "crap", the later two we haven't seen enough of to make a judgement.

They are a global company with over 500 staff in 30 countries. Look at their client list... AT&T IBM BAE Systems CISCO Deutsche Bank HSBC Nokia Orange Sony Hardly small time, just in a industry many would be unaware of those involved. -

At the time I write this, it is not on the Saints OS. Main story at 18:19 is Chamberlain in England under 19's. -

Announced where? Not on the Saints OS. -
In the last 50 years Saints have a better record than the Terriers. As for your other points... many opposition League One managers have reinforced the view in interview that it is their biggest game playing Saints and you can't argue that Saints don't have large resources.
-
They use the phrase "reports suggest", thus only regurgitating the rumour from elsewhere.
-
And you think it wasn't Cortese because...?
-
Many managers have done in the past about players.

Saints spokesman on Twitter 4 minutes ago... Nigel Adkins puts Howard rumours down to speculation: "often happens when managers are looking at moving on / bringing in players"

He hasn't been picked because he was injured. http://www.owlstalk.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=147893

He played 43 games and scored 10 league goals in the Championship with Peterborough in the 2009/10 season.

This then...

I have seen numerous stories like this about them. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11764_2289625,00.html

An educated guess given that Peterborough have average gates of 6k this season, and Saints 22k.
-
Can't have a player may sign for Saints thread without a highlights video. Brian Howard vs Doncaster... The Saints spokesman on Twitter putting a dampener on it does make it hard to believe it is going to happen though.
-
He sounded interested when asked about it in January. Plus at his age he will be looking for one of the last big pay days in his career. His wages if he joined Saints would increase massively compared to what Peterborough can afford to pay him.

The club have been doing that this season with the Saints foundation on the kit. -
All out at S****horpe- All in at Saints?
Matthew Le God replied to Tokyo-Saint's topic in The Saints
I doubt Pressman will come to Saints. Saints have Jim Stannard as senior goalkeeper coach and Vince Bartram with the youth teams. With Adkins, Crosby and Wilkins, I'm not even sure if we would need Baraclough. -
He means they will miss out on 3 to 4 million pounds in TV and League money. Plus lower crowds and sponsorship money.

This article seems pretty clear to me... http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2279036,00.html The opening sentence sums it up for a start! -

The 2nd year academy scholars find out about their future at Saints tomorrow. -
Nope, Saints can still guarantee 2nd spot without winning every game... - A win and a draw from the two games in hand over Peterborough puts Saints ahead. - Two wins a a defeat from the three games in hand over Huddersfield puts Saints ahead.
