  1. I thought you were with the posh totty in Harrogate? Has she nodded off? (just like Jose did LOL)!
  2. Didn't we do it at Everton once?
  3. Built by an ex bank-robber who let his money go to his head .... never let a fan on the board (or worse still, buy the club! How much did phone boy lose at Crystal Palace?)
  4. No he wasn't .. he was effing mediocre ... absolutely pedestrian where we needed urgency. I've stuck up for him a long time on here but he was poor today (one very decent long shot where we denied a corner corner aside). SDR (I'm not a fan, but he would have offered more on the right today).
  5. Just started reading the thread now but you can eff off straight away. Here's your budget ... what's your team that can do better?
  6. You think Leicester at home are more likely to avoid defeat against West Ham, than Saints are to beat Coventry at home? You don't work for Ladbrokes do you? Thought not.
  7. 'Captain' Chris? I wouldn't trust you with the bibs 'n' cones.
  8. Nutshell.
  9. Are you for real? (Or have I been whooosh-ed?')
  10. Get over yourselves! I've just driven a 600 mile round trip and I'm over it already! Really poor decision but it's not going to change now .... next Saturday, beat Cov and we are up, a one-game play-off final at home against the second worst team in the league. Who wouldn't have taken that pre-season?
  11. In the first half I was LOL'ing at those who have been slating Fonte, he was excellent! One goal-saving block in the 6yd box and he looked composed and in complete control. No blame attaching to him for the first goal and TBF we looked all over the shop defensively in the second half. Yes it was a silly foul to concede and yes it was an expensive mistake! But I don't see people steaming into Lambert or Lallana or Sharp despite the fact we only scored once in a game we dominated for long periods. I really hate this slating of the players! Saints the last two seasons have given me as much football pleasure as I've ever had (and I'm 50!), we've had an honest bunch of pros giving their all at THE LEVEL THAT THEY PLAY! Indeed you could argue, certainly in this league, that we have 'over-achieved'. More fool people that think we can move the bulk of a L1 side into the Premiership ... we can't, as the last few weeks have shown and I'm pretty sure we won't try to. Fonte is no better and no worse than half a dozen other players; whatever will be will be but let's stay behind the boys for one more game!!!!
  12. I phoned their TO this morning, and I was told that there will be 1000 away tkts available from the away tkt office from 2.30, cash only. Putting something and something together to make something else .... the away section for this game is 4000, we took 3000 tkts at SMS and have sold most of those, tomorrow they will be selling new blocks. Walk up of 200-300 perhaps? Away section will be comfortably full without being rammed .... just right, less beer and food and loo queues for those that can be bothered to get there.
  13. She fell over?
  14. Perhaps the Bundisliga might be a step too far though, even for our Nic? Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the terraces only for domestic games? I think you will find they 'lock' the seats down for all UEFA games? http://www.aberdeen-mad.co.uk/news/tmnw/exclusive_report_from_the_safe_standing_roadshow_in_aberdeen_727699/index.shtml It would be awesome though to kit the Northam out with a set of these babies!
  15. People who clog this board with mere drivel make me embarrassed to be a Saints fan; they should get out more, preferably going to a few games so they can hear what proper drivel looks like.
  16. Have to agree, this was funny...... ......once. (and that was quite a long time ago now).
  17. You beat me to it! I thought the same at Palace and even more so last night, he's not the most gifted of individuals but undoubtedly he brings something to the rest of the team. Great team performance last night and we really did do a job on P'boro who were willing but limited, the difference in class was there for all to see and without being too greedy we really coulda-shoulda had 5 or 6 goals last night. Top marks for me and MOM must go to Nige for keeping his head (when all about here were losing theirs!), getting the players focussed again and believing, and for not panicking, and for picking the right team to get the job done. Top, top come back from the whole team and massively rewarded by events in Bristol! KD 7, not too much to do and pulled off a brilliant save at 3-0, will be disappointed with the goal and missing out on another clean sheet DB 7, enjoying a real renaicasance in the first team, solid at the back, got fd and linked well, final ball often inconsistent JF 7, solid performance and linked well with JH all game JH 7, dominant at the back and always a scoring threat, took his goal with real conviction DF 6, looks good, tight shorts, gets up and down all day, takes a great corner, crossing from open play is very random RCFG 8, maximo effort and in their face for the full 90 minutes, will think he should have scored somewhere along the way DH 8, top captain's display, led from the front and kept everybody pulling in the right direction, harshly, this is probably his level but he's made the most of what he's got JC 8, right back in the form he showed earlier in the season, dynamic, fit and willing, looks like he could play another 40 games AL 8, has added so much more to his game as the season has gone on, real strength and workrate to match the undoubted ability, different class to the rest of this league BS 8, growing in form and finess and confidence with every game he plays, has proven himself at this level, can he step up next season? RL 7, never reached the sublime heights he has recently but as ever gave his all and a very effective part in a brilliant team perfromance MOM NA 10!
  18. Short memory alert ... surely you haven't forgotten already the number of Saturday nights / midweek evenings that we have sat here this season and said 'Results really went for us today/tonight'?
  19. What a refreshing thread, I thought I was all alone and now I found there are loads of us! Like everyone else I'm willing us over the line and kicking every ball, but there are always two possible outcomes: if we go up there will be some good things about being in the Prem but a considerable swathe of negatives to go with it, if we stay down it won't be the end of the world, we'll pick ourselves up and try to do it all again next year.
  20. What a load of old guff; the best game you will ever go to is the next one .... to see Saints win at P'boro tonight will be like Wembley, Cardiff and Villa Park rolled into one ... to see Saints lose tonight will be unthinkable .... stop harking back to some mythical golden age and support the lads in the here and now!
  21. Barnet? I think they are still in the bottom league? Without looking it up would I be right in saying that they have played all their (comparatively short) league football in the lowest tier?
  22. I am well aware of the ancient and modern history of all three of the clubs I quoted. My understanding was that the OP was asking for clubs where very little currently goes on, not much has gone on for a number of seasons, or is likely to be going on for the next few seasons. No promo, no relegation, no cups, no spectacular signings, no glamour, no big-name Ron Managers, no scandal with the chairman's wife, no lurid club mascot headlines. On that basis mine were three pretty reasonable shouts. Sheff Utd are in the midst of an exciting promotion hunt, under the expert management of someone from the dark side. Palace were league cup semi-finalists a few weeks ago and seem to make the financial pages at least once a season (tho agree they are pretty dull). Epic fail, can you suggest a couple of slightly duller no-mark teams that better meet the criteria?
  23. Ipswich have had a few seasons of nothingness .... agree with the OP on Villa. Sunderland always seem a bit pointless (but might do a bit better under MON next year).
  24. Incoming, I watched on Sky and was impressed with the impression Reading fans made; if I was a neutral I would have been disappointed with the Saints support. I'm sure it was nervous/difficult/frustrating being there but why do we not get behind the team more? Let's bring it on at P'boro!
  25. He got outside three or four times and hit lollipop floaters every time - I didn't see any of his crosses hit one of our players - their keeper must have thought he was back down at the training ground second half - has he had an easier second half all season? Our goal was a deflection, which he probably had covered, and I can't remember him making a proper save second half ... SDR ain't very good ... get over it.
