Does make you wonder at what point does Solak realise Sport Republic are completely clueless and force them out to protect at least a portion of his investment. They’ve repeatedly proven themselves totally bereft of ideas on how to run a successful club off the pitch and most importantly on it. I can’t fault the money that Solak has spent on the club. The big issue is on what and whom. It has been an absolute clinic in comedy recruitment from leadership to coaching staff to players. If it wasn’t my club I would find it absolutely hilarious. Do something, Dragan. Quickly.

I would hope by now the penny would have finally dropped with Solak that these chancers at SR are clueless and can’t see further than the end of their nose. Ask any semi knowledgeable Saints fan 3 years ago whether Bazunu was up to it or not and you’d have got a definitive answer yet they’ve only just reached this decision. Much the same as this constant 5 at the back ridiculousness which they are clearly about to finally abandon too.

It’s almost laughable. Eckert out if we lose today I’m afraid.

Saints Legends v Man Utd Legends - 28 March

I was hoping for Dan Seabourne -
Should’ve been bombed out the year we got promoted. Been clear he’s nowhere near the required standard since day 1.
-
Great shout. See if his brother The Undertaker fancies a run out at centre back too.
-
Not working is it? Clearly this club needs a strong, experienced leader in charge to stamp out a few clearly hard held and misguided beliefs in terms of club philosophy. if Solak is in any way concerned about getting any kind of return from his investment in the club he needs to drop SR like a bad habit. Start making some straight forward common sense decisions and accept that whatever approach SR have been trying to impose of the club/group is patently not working.

More likely get picked up in the summer by one of the promoted sides. That’s our level now. Selling to those types of clubs. It’ll be a long time before the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool etc are on the phone enquiring after our players again I’d say…

Depressing, turgid, uninspired, boring, plodding, mediocre, mid-table Championship football. I’m actually excited for the game to end so I can stop watching.

Pretty sure Matsuki is Japanese mate.

Not entirely sure what is wrong with letting a young lad sample the atmosphere of a travelling support in a respectable away fan friendly pub if there was one. As it happens we went into the ground earlier and a friendly PR lady from Southampton FC asked if he would like to be our mascot today and walk out with the team. One happy (but tired!) chappy with memories he’ll carry with him for years.
-
Any away friendly pubs near the ground? Taking my 6 year old lad to his first away game. Curious if anywhere nearby for away fans or is best bet the concourse?

In fairness I noticed who I was replying to after I posted it and thought he must have been on a wind up.
-
Pretty sure that was the 3-1 game.

Jim Branning immediately comes to mind. Wasn’t even a Saints fan was he?
-
No way we are seeing this out.

They just said you’ve got to feel for the travelling Baggies fans too. What, all 7 of them? we are in playoff spots 😂

Manage Southampton on Football Manager 2026

In the words of Duncan Bannantyne, “and for that reason, I’m out.” -
Agreed although Armstrong seems to have bucked his ideas up recently so they may gamble on him maintaining that form. Hopefully by now they know they cannot afford to do the same with Bazunu. I have my doubts however.
-
In the same way that a broken clock is right twice a day, if you persist with Bazunu for enough games, it stands to reason he’ll pull off the occasional decent save. It was a good save though, granted. He is still not the answer and the club needs to start the search for a replacement, if it hasn’t already.
-
Pretty sure we’ve already done it this season ourselves. Wasn’t it Bragg?
-
And it’ll most likely be another total shitshow of a decision.
-
This is Sports Republic we are talking about here. Anything is possible.
-
Maybe so but it’s surprising he’s not been given a crack by anybody. Are you telling me the likes of Jack Stephens and Harwood-Bellis wouldn’t sit up and take notice when he tries showing them a thing or two? By all accounts he was a popular figure at Villa as assistant under Smith.
-
Still surprises me John Terry has never been given a crack at management. One of the best and most decorated Premier League centre backs and captains of all time must have something to offer in management.
