Interesting couple of days. Nice to see some decent incomings although shame about Fetnandes. Anyone else’s excitement tempered somewhat by this perseverance with the Bazunu in goal experiment? He’s going to cost us points. Arguably already has. 2nd versus Stoke was easily saveable.

Perhaps returning to our ‘use us as a stepping stone’ transfer approach. It’s obvious that our decline the past few years started when we started making life difficult for players when looking to leave. As annoying as it always was seeing players like Mane and van Dijk play for us for 1-2 seasons before earning their moves, if the alternative is 5 years of Nathan Redmond or Jan Bednarek, I know which approach I’d prefer.

How underwhelming did that transfer end up being as well?

He’s a fantastic keeper. Providing he doesn’t have to do much goalkeeping….

The lack of presence up front is shocking.

Just read this after echoing the exact same sentiment myself.

Decent servant but his involvement in and around the first team has coincided with a complete decline in fortunes for the club. Can't all be blamed on him of course but its also no coincidence. Always good to have an experienced head at centre back to mentor the younger ones but when he's the experienced head and the baulk of his career experience is at Saints playing in a constantly worsening side I can't imagine the youngsters he's meant to be mentoring are thinking 'christ, I better listen to this guy - what a career he's had, he can teach me a thing or two..' Good luck to him though. Porto's a great club and a lovely city. My current employers head office is in Porto so I've spent a fair bit of time there. Very well supported, big club and a lovely city. Its a really good move for him.

I once got promoted from concourse catering to waiting in the Mick Channon suite and then promoted again a few weeks later to an executive box host, once looking after Posh Spice and a baby Brooklyn Beckham. That’s got to be up there with the best, surely?
-
As was getting relegated with them, no?

We'll be lucky to get £20m for him. He's not as good as people seem to think. Admittedly been far too overplayed this season but he's got a long, long way to go.

But enough about Harwood-Bellis...

Worst keeper I've ever seen for Saints. Bar none. I'd genuinely have Angus Gunn ahead of Bazunu. "Oh but he's great with the ball at his feet..." Put him in midfield then because he can't shot-stop to save his life.

The team needs experience, character and leadership.

Playoff final last season. It was the day my son, aged 5 at the time in his 2nd ever match, fell head over heels in love with football. I was off the drink the time (not that I have a problem or anything 🤣) so fully indulged his request to get into the ground 2 hours before kick off to watch the ground fill and atmosphere and anticipation grow. Then for us to score to go 1-0 and then hang on for the win, I was so overcome with happiness and sentimentality that I shed a few tears. That said, it was tempered by the fact I knew this season would be a struggle, although admittedly not the complete and utter shambles it has turned out to be.

Someone tactically flexible. No point being the Barcelona of the Championship if you are going to be complete horseshit in the Prem because your manager just thinks he’ll replicate the same form and results.

Another awful, bizarre and pointless hire by the clowns at Sport Republic. I almost feel sorry for Juric. Not his fault he was offered the job but he was out of his depth from day 1. Can't wait to see what next avantgarde appointment out of the left-field they decide to bring in next.

Against a Palace side who in league terms are well and truly already on the beach. Keeping their powder dry for the cup.
-
This cunt has got to go. Wolves at home and he’s playing 5 at the back with no recognised striker up top. Clueless. Kudos to SR, another gem of a hire 👌🏻

Yeah maybe but I know who I’d rather give £40m to to bring in 2 players in January and it’s not Nathan Jones.
-
Blimey, we signed AA in August 2021. Time flies when you are watching complete shit.
-
SR bought Saints in Jan 2022. They sacked Ralph in November 2022 and then signed Tall Pall and Sulemana in the Jan transfer window just after. My point is, there was money to back Ralph but instead they decided to sack him and give Nathan f*cking Jones the best part of £40m to piss up a wall. A luxury that a much more capable manager in Ralph was never afforded.
-
Of course we could afford it. Just 6 months later we spaffed about £40m on Sulemana and Onuachu.
