  1. So the club doesn’t need a shift in approach? Let’s keep on keepin’ on then? Righty-ho, pal… 👍🏻
  2. If we are going to judge candidates of the next manager purely by performance in their most recent role, we are going to be picking from an extremely limited pool. Who do you suggest? Guardiola? Howe? Maybe see if Klopp fancies a crack at the Championship? The club needs a complete shift in approach. It needs to get back to basics. The players clearly need a good boot up their arse. Football is a pretty simple game which has been massively over complicated by footballing hipsters the past few years. Not least by Russell Martin with his ridiculous commitment to his “style” at all costs or our present incumbent who made a name for himself by being half decent at Championship Manager. A Pulis or Allardyce type would set us up to be more difficult to beat almost overnight. He would also most likely sack off this 5 at the back insanity we keep reverting back to.
  3. Why are we laughing about bring in a Pulis, Allardyce or Warnock? It’s exactly what the club needs. Especially the first two.
  4. This c*nt has got to go. Complete rabbit in the headlights. One of the worse sides I’ve ever seen to beat us by 2 clear goals.
  5. If you are mid-table in January, you have every chance of breaking the top six. We aren't competing against Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City, Chelsea, Villa and Newcastle here...
  6. Made bloody hard work of that. Sheff Utd clearly as bereft of confidence as a side as we are. Really hope the squad uses this as a springboard but there can be no doubting we had more than our fair share of luck to pull that win out the bag. Great to see Stewart with a couple of goals. He surely has to be the focal point of the attack in the middle with others playing off him. Out of what we have at the moment anyway.
  7. Jesus we are a fucking poor, poor side.
  8. Wasn’t the pass to Chiesa offside? Couldn’t see anyone playing him on in the Quick Look I had on the replay?
  9. First half tactics were ridiculous. Constant long balls to a 5’9 forward against two complete lumps at centre half without a fellow team mate within 30 yards of him. Finally started getting a foothold on the game midway through the 2nd half and he changes half the team. His go-to strategy when we go behind of just slinging on as many forwards as possible leaves a lot to be desired too.
  10. Damp squib that. Ive got some serious concerns about Still.
  11. Bazunu beaten all ends up by a shot at the middle of his goal 🙄
  12. If ever there was a player destined for a move to Turkey, it’s Aribo.
  13. Correct. May as well have a ghost in goal.
  14. Proper scummy club. Love playing the victim card whenever it suits them but can’t resist constantly indulging in underhanded tactics themselves.
  15. They all count…
  16. I wouldn’t say no to an oral offer right now…
  17. Interesting couple of days. Nice to see some decent incomings although shame about Fetnandes. Anyone else’s excitement tempered somewhat by this perseverance with the Bazunu in goal experiment? He’s going to cost us points. Arguably already has. 2nd versus Stoke was easily saveable.
  18. Perhaps returning to our ‘use us as a stepping stone’ transfer approach. It’s obvious that our decline the past few years started when we started making life difficult for players when looking to leave. As annoying as it always was seeing players like Mane and van Dijk play for us for 1-2 seasons before earning their moves, if the alternative is 5 years of Nathan Redmond or Jan Bednarek, I know which approach I’d prefer.
  19. How underwhelming did that transfer end up being as well?
  20. He’s a fantastic keeper. Providing he doesn’t have to do much goalkeeping….
  21. The lack of presence up front is shocking.
  22. Just read this after echoing the exact same sentiment myself.
  23. replied to wrong post
  24. Decent servant but his involvement in and around the first team has coincided with a complete decline in fortunes for the club. Can't all be blamed on him of course but its also no coincidence. Always good to have an experienced head at centre back to mentor the younger ones but when he's the experienced head and the baulk of his career experience is at Saints playing in a constantly worsening side I can't imagine the youngsters he's meant to be mentoring are thinking 'christ, I better listen to this guy - what a career he's had, he can teach me a thing or two..' Good luck to him though. Porto's a great club and a lovely city. My current employers head office is in Porto so I've spent a fair bit of time there. Very well supported, big club and a lovely city. Its a really good move for him.
