I'm up in London where it's just spitting. Is the rain enough to put the game in jeopardy?
-
Ill bolt my load if it is.
-
Just a shame the standard of football will be absolute pony.
-
a few sites are claiming to have a stream but I'm dubious. I've just called the Famous 3 Kings pub in London. Usually if they are showing the game there will be a stream online somewhere but they said they can't get it so I doubt there will be any websites showing it. Happy to be proven wrong of course, if anyone wants to PM me a link to a working stream!

They won't bid anything for a 30 year old player.
-
Maybe but I think theres far more chance of them staying up than us getting promoted. I wouldn't bank on it. I watched them at QPR on Monday, they are a poor side playing poor football but they have some good players like Cabaye, Coloccini and Ben Arfa and there will most definitely be 3 worse sides than them this season in the PL. They'll also surely have to sign a goal scorer in January but Ashley wouldn't sanction a move for a 30 year old player even if we offered him to them on a free. He sees the money on wages wasted as there is no sell on value. The same reason he was prepared to let their best player Barton leave on a free. He'd rather get rid than pay him £60k a week when he knows at the end of his contract he won't be able to sell him. It's a total non-starter. If a PL side takes a punt on him it will be someone like Wigan, Stoke or Bolton.

Neither have we. Difference being they are a globally recognised and respected (more so than in this country) club. They also remain in the top 30 clubs in terms of revenue despite the difficult years they've ecperienced and have phenomenal support. Anyone who denies that is either pig-ignorant or for some reason has a massive chip on their shoulder. That said, it won't happen. There is no way Ashley will be spending any money on a 30 year-old.

Get a D on your left arse cheek and DD on your right, in honour of possibly Southampton's finest right-back of the modern era...
-
Do you think a professional football player currently in the midst of a court case for ABH or whatever it is would be "liking" football related violence and hooliganism on FB?
-
I asked him on FB but he is too busy "liking" football violence and hooliganism...
-
Could you take a picture of you smiling wry-ly and post it on this thread? I'd like to see for myself.

I wasn't having a go, just saying in reality you have only got one result that I wouldn't otherwise have expected you to get. It was a great result. As I said, good on you. Leicester will be interesting. They did well against us for the first half hour, plenty of pace up front, decent aggression but they tired badly and once we settled down and started playing football they couldn't live with us. You lot are a ball playing side too, if you can start on the front foot, unlike us, I'd fancy Brighton for the win.
-
My colleague reckons its pretty common knowledge that it is Stuart Downing.
-
They've done well but I'm not jealous of them. In my opinion, they've had one game against one of the tougher sides in the league, away to Cardiff and beat them 3-1. The rest I would have expected them to win anyway. Good on them I say. The only points we have dropped so far are away to Leicester where they had an absolute, stone-wall foul on Lambert ignored for their 3rd goal and we absolutely pummelled them in the 2nd half but couldn't get an equaliser.
-
Presumably it's not someone currently playing. Surely they would have failed a drugs test and been banned, so I reckon someone who has all of a sudden fallen "out of favour" and hasn't been getting a look in for the past year or so.
-
Good result lads, normal service resumed...!
-
You can't get enough of that phrase can you?!
-
Maybe, but they've had a long successful history of unsettling players with speculation...
-
Given that the majority of the 20-odd "Championship previews" I read at the start of the season stated our "Key Man" was going to be Rickie Lambert, Alex OC, Kelvin Davis or Jose Fonte, I would say AL has gone largely under the radar by the press. Winning such accolades will attract more media attention and speculation and I don't care who you are, there is always a risk that an increase in that sort of attention could turn some peoples heads.
-
Disagree. Curtis' angst suited the lyrics and music they were knocking out at the time. She's Lost Control could be sung by no-one but Curtis.
-
So you are saying you wouldn't be temped by a 40% wage increase and guaranteed first team football in the Premier League?
-
I'm willing to predict Noel Gallagher's solo stuff will not get the same attention as Beady Eye's first effort did. Noel was the brains behind Oasis but Liam was the soul (and voice).
