Apart from the fact coconuts have the statistical advantage of being where we are (land) almost all the time, whereas sharks don't. Call me old fasioned but I'd rather get in to a fight with a coconut than a bloody great big shark.

SO basically if you want to go somewhere nice for holiday, don't bother as you'll get eaten by a shark.

Ruel Fox? Thought he retired... -
Not really but please come back in 2-3 years time and rule 1 the first one... Major selling points - about an hours train ride from London. Good shopping at West Quay. Leisure World is pretty good. By and large, probably a safer place to live. To be fair, I doubt Southampton has anything that Liverpool doesn't that would overly excite teenage girls. They might shake off that horrible accent in time however...

The ex-Newcastle player Rob Lee wrote a good one. Plenty of funny anecdotes and holds nothing back about his spat with Ruud Gullit.

If rumours are to be believed, he was anything but an innocent party in all that. Wasn't he rumoured to have been smacking his sister and mother around or something?

Probably due to our indifference to them. The fact is that whilst they finished above us last season, they know the only reason for this was due to our poor start. It must surely ruin the feeling of going up as champions when you know in reality you were 2nd best for the vast majority of the season. Must have felt like an empty win.

If our opposition managers want to put it down to a collective bad day at the office, let them. The more managers that come out and say "we were totally outplayed, Southampton are favourites for promotion" the more other sides will sit up, take notice of us and begin parking the team bus a la League 1. I'm happy for other sides to fancy their chances against us because I know we have players capable of picking them off.

I know what you are getting at but that was a time when anyone could have competed for those signings. I've just had a look at their transfer dealings and by and large their signings were offset by outgoing deals.

Ipswich 2 - 5 Southampton - post match fapping session
sambosa75 replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
Don't know what game you were watching against Leeds but I can't remember one moment of the match apart from KD's save just before Hammond's goal where Leeds were even remotely in it. It sounds as if we have improved further still but to say there wasn't much in it against Leeds, I don't know what game you were watching. -
Morning Alps, enjoying the start to the season? I'm sensing fresh positivity in your posts recently and like what I'm reading!

Totally agree with what you are saying but on this form, if I was the manager of Tottenham, Chelsea or Man Utd looking at the way Lallana has the ability to dictate games and score so regularly, as well as the fact that he is young and English I would be scouting him with a view to a cheeky last minute bid. Lallana is the sort of player who will just get better and better when the standard of players around him improves too.

Nigel Adkins I fookin love you. -
Pressure makes diamonds... good one.

Little bit different. One is a multi billion pound global brand with a strong infrastructure, history of sustained success, world-famous academies etc, etc... and the other is Portsmouth FC who over-spent for a couple of years in search of quick success and now face years in the footballing wilderness as a consequence. If the proverbial hit the fan at Man Utd, they would be queuing to bale them out.
-
No you haven't. You have simply got lucky. Good luck and all power to Man City for spending all this money but I'd much rather Man Utd won the league than them or Chelsea.
-
Don't exactly see the banks beating their doors down for it though do you? Yes it's a lot of debt but it is obviously well under control if they can still sanction the signings of De Gea, Jones, Young etc..
-
Must admit I disagree. Man Utd have earned the right to spend big money through decades of sustained success. Ferguson also rarely buys "finished article" players and his signings this summer have so far been brilliant. Man City on the other hand is basically a graveyard for players careers. 9 out of 10 signings don't work out but as they over pay these players so much, they are quite happy to just rot away in the reserves and see out their contract which is a massive shame. I can't blame the players but it wouldn't happen if their manager was signing players with one eye on the future. For the millions at his disposal and the talent in his squad, Mancini is far too cautious and defensive also.

I wouldn't know where to start!

Not sure how the 1-3-3-3-1 formation will work out...
