  1. I was just coming on here to start a thread about exactly the same thing. Just done the predictor now. One thing that strikes me is how tough Huddersfield's run-in is. Huddersfield results: Peterborough Home 2-2 Charlton Away 2-1 Win MK Dons Away 1-1 Dag & Red Home 2-0 Win Brighton Away 1-1 Brentford Home 2-0 Win 3 Wins, 3 Draws = 12 more points. 4th place with 85 Points. Peterborough results: Hudderfield Away 2-2 Plymouth Home 2-0 Win Leyton Orient Away 2-1 Win Yeovil Home 2-0 Win Rochdale Away 2-1 Win Dag & Red Home 2-0 Win 1 Draw, 5 Wins = 16 more points. 3rd place with 86 Points. Saints results: Leyton Orient Away 1-1 Rochdale Away 2-1 Win Bristol Rovers Home 3-1 Win Brighton Away 2-1 Loss Hartlepool Home 2-0 Win Brentford Away 1-1 Plymouth Away 2-1 Win Walsall Home 2-1 Win 5 Wins, 2 Draws and 1 Loss = 17 more points. 2nd on 88 Points. Brighton win league with 101 points. MK Dons (5th - 79 points) and Bournemouth (6th - 75 points) make up the rest of the play off contenders. I've tried keeping my predictions pretty realistic hence the loss at Brighton and the draws to Leyton Orient and Brentford. We are bound to drop a few points we shouldnt between now and the end of the season.
  2. I'd love to see Sunderland and Villa go down. Both with massive wage bills, decent squads on paper but have totally underperformed. Particularly Aston Villa.
  3. I'm here all week.
  4. Didnt Shakhtar beat them at the Nou Camp in the group stages? Or was that last season? Either way, Shakhtar are no mugs and it should be a good contest. I still expect Barca to progress but Shakhtar are in with a good shout.
  5. Presumably rather wrinkly though one would imagine.
  6. I remember watching a Chelsea game when Mourinho was manager. Think it might have been against Newcastle. All through the game Drogba and Robben would come back for corners, looking as if they were marking up players, filling the box with Chelsea players whilst just one of the oppositions full backs stayed back as there was no apparent threat. All of a sudden before the corner was taken, they'd bomb it up the pitch, gambling that Cech would claim and quickly distribute or Terry or Carvalho would win a booming header and start a quick counter attack. I noticed they seemed to do it every time the other team had a corner and eventually they scored the winner from doing it. I think it's quite clever if you have a couple of players able to make those kind of quick, lung-bursting runs.
  7. In my experience its usually a cry for attention.
  8. 2.24 of my life I will never get back.
  9. Despite losing his arms, Lambert was like a dog with two d!cks after Barnards winner.
  10. Get in there you beauty
  11. Jesus, got another 12 vacancies off them. Anyone fancy a job as a recruitment consultant?!
  12. I assume that means I just need to hold back 20% of whatever I earn "just in case". Is there an expiry on this? Lets say if only do these two placements for a whole year but leave my 20% there in case HMRC get in touch but they dont for a year, is that money rightfully mine or should I willfully declare it? This is probably a really stupid question. I dont want to come across as a tax dodger (as much as I'd like to be one!) just want to know what my rights/obligations are.
  13. Much appreciated Baj. I'm assuming it's best to make up a random invoice number. I dont suppose invoice number 1 or 000001 are going to inspire much confidence in the company accountant!
  14. Thanks for your advice. Really appreciated. I am actually out of the recruitment industry altogether now (well, I was before yesterday!) and sourced my candidates perfectly legally and legitimately. The reason I got this vacancy is because my girlfriends best friend is the firms Managing Director and she knows my situation. She just has an urgent need for the 2 roles in question to be filled and knew I had the skills, experience and know-how to get the positions filled quickly. I remember informing the bank when setting up my account I was a sole trader so as long as thats the case and I dont charge or mention VAT on the invoice there wont be any ramifications? I do have legally binding terms and conditions which I send over with every CV.
  15. Thanks for this advice. Really helpful. I've replied to Gemmels post too. If you are able to advise on the VAt situation also please do. Thanks.
  16. I'm presuming I can find invoice outlays online somewhere... I have been sending all CVs in PDF also so saving an invoice to PDF shouldnt be a problem. You mentioned the other thing I forgot to mention... VAT. Should I not be charging VAT. As a company I am obviously not VAT registered so I'm guessing not. Will this raise any problems at the clients end? Thanks. Gumtree and then Total Jobs by the way.
  17. A couple of years ago I opened a recruitment company (I say opened, I opened a Bank account under the companies name and got some letter headed paper made!) and shortly after was offered a full time job in online recruitment for a major job board. Because of this the recruitment company never really got off the ground. In the last couple of days however a couple of Red hot vacancies have fallen at my lap. Both are desperate to be filled by the end of the week. I found a couple of candidates for both roles and have had 2 interviews take place already with another 2 to follow this afternoon. My "client" wants to offer a role to one of my candidates and is willing to pay me £2,500 for her services. Not bad for about an hours work on my part. Does anyone with experience of providing professional services (whatever they may be) know what the procedure is with regard to invoicing? Do I have to send a professional looking invoice or can I just break down the costs on email. The "client" is a very professional investment brokerage in Central London so I will imagine they will want all their paper work in order. Is anyone able to advise me on how I should proceed with this? Many thanks, Sam (bosa75)
  18. I dont believe Ox is a winger. I think he has the ability on the ball to play in central midfield. A bit like Kieron Dyer before all the injuries. I think he will be moved there when he becomes more accustomed to the physical nature of the game and learns better when to time his runs etc...
  19. Slight Return to this day is probably still my all time favourite tune.
  20. I used to live in Denia, Spain and there is a Chinese Restaurant there called 'Wan Ke Longs'. I also used to live on Holland Road in Kensington and there was a garage and carwash called 'The Hand Job Centre'. Picture of sign here:
  21. Totally agree. How Rooney still gets mentioned in the same breath is beyond me. I'd rather have Tevez than Rooney. It's all media hype. He really isnt that good and I dont think ever has been.
  22. He's a good player and has lot of potential but if he was coming through at Walsall there probably wouldnt be such a great big clamour for him. The fact is there is prestige now for any kds showing promise coming through the ranks at Southampton and that can only be a good thing for the club. Also, if he was already at Arsenal and Man Utd he would be no where near the first team. As for being better than Theo, I think he has the ability to play a more pivotal role in a game as I think eventually he will move in to central midfield and pull the strings from there a bit like Kieron Dyer in his very brief pomp. Theo was much more effective for us at a higher level though but was always going to be a winger or forward.
  23. Even in the sense of Howard, we let him go when we were comfortable a Premier League outfit. If we were still in the Premier League he wouldnt even be on the radar so I dont think we can say we missed out on him or made a mistake. You cant just keep players in the squad from the academy just in case we get relegated twice in 5 years as they might come in handy if that happens!
  24. Shame about Hoskins. Watched him train up at Staplewood a few weeks back and thought he looked sharp, despite his size.
  25. I once drank 16 cans of Diet Coke on a coach to Liverpool for a Saints game (we drew 0-0... good game. Neil Moss had a blinder). That coupled with a dodgy burger from the Everpool burger van had me projectile vomiting for the last hour of the journey home. I kid you not, my sick was fizzy. Since then I would rather dehydrate than drink Diet Coke.
