  1. Nope, doesn't make sense to me even after reading it ten times. Early NYE celebrations under way?
  2. Brilliant performance from Tadic. Redmond will find it difficult to oust Boufal now. Hoj slowly getting there. Some very good play but oh! how we need a natural goalscorer. We will not stay up if we cannot score goals.
  3. For F sake try to be positive for once. You sound more and more like a grumpy old man who can see no good in anybody in a Saints shirt.

  5. Really glad that we are no longer a selling club. Was getting really worried we might revert top type.
  6. The league table does not lie and 4 wins from 19 matches is unacceptable.
  7. What is Austin's conversion rate, 1 in 5, 1 in 10? Mr Pellegrino, if you have any self respect left please have the decency to step down now. I know you'll get compo if you are sacked but not if you resign which probably is the reason Reed hasn't sacked you already
  8. The fans wanted change, they've got change. We will find out soon enough if this change proves beneficial or not. As others have pointed out Black seems to have had a track record of being associated with failure and maybe there is a problem with his coaching and he has been the makeweight to bring in somebody new? Maybe another of Pellegrino's old muckers? Seems an odd thing to have happened in isolation so chances are other things are afoot.
  9. Perhaps he kept them totted up with a steady supply of single malts.
  10. We need to keep ourselves well grounded as far as this young man is concerned. The Academy must be pretty desperate to produce a star to salvage what's left of its reputation but overhyping Sims and heaping impossible expectations on his young shoulders is not a very good idea at all. It may end only in tears if he fails to deliver which will not be fair on him at all. Young lads like Sims need to be protected and nurtured slowly not thrown in at the deep end without a life jacket.
  11. Nobody minds if you are in self-denial but no doubt the majority feel that we are right in the drop zone mix. It is always better on these occasions to over react then to be complacent; no doubt Saints invisible leaders upstairs are beginning to feel a little unsettled. Talking of which they are putting a whole new meaning to 'transparency'
  12. Close our eyes and think of England!
  13. A decent anything in the concourse woud be a good start.
  14. Absolutely no way Pellegrino will be able to lift the players for tomorrow after their Wednesday evening debacle and bear in mind the weather is likely to be as hostile as it was on Wednesday. Let's face it the weather was a factor for quite a few of our lily livered professionals (as Jonesie would have said "they didn't like it up 'em") the other day.
  15. You should not rule out the possibly that if we go down we may never get back up again, like Leeds, like Pompey, like Sheffield U, like Sheff W, like Blackburn all great clubs of the past from big cities that graced the highest division once upon a time.
  16. or put in another way... complete and utter tosh! We are where we are because of who we are. The world is full of what-ifs and that includes each one of us. Unless you believe in a mutiverse where every permutation of happenings is feasible the hear and now is all that matters in our solitary universe. We are all stuck with this one and this Southampton team and Redmond & Ward Prowse.
  17. Effing bean-counters, price everything value nothing!
  18. Expect VVD to give Vardy a few nudges off the ball....
  19. Pundits? Pah! It's all bull****! If they were any good at analysis they'd be top PL managers which they are not!
  20. He played well in an unfamiliar position and did a great job today, is better than Pied and should start again on Wednesday. probably a good understudy for Cedric.
  21. Complete Tosh! Were you there? We are not going down anytime soon. Far worse teams than us in this league.
  22. Good performance and should have won at a canter. Austin gets his goal but misses two sitters, Bertie suffered a nose bleed at altitude otherwise 4-0. The usual anonymous display from the bloke on the right wing and and almost equally invisible chap on the left wing. How they get picked is anybody's guess? Let's try... Les Reed? Co-incidence that the Gao's were here so Les bigging up his failing Academy to save face? Tadic played well as he does against the Gunners. Stand out performances from all the defence, worthy mention for Stevens, Hojberg and Romeu but Yoshida, van Dyke and Bertrand all excelled. Forster on the up again, great to see. Strange feeling of a big let down at the end but a point is a point as we struggle towards 20 for the half-way stage. ....but you cannot sit back and try to win 1-0 against players of this calibre.
  23. .....or not as the case may be. It's not Corbyn you need to worry about!
  24. In the Cage? Great news! Wishing you every success Nigel and looking forward to greeting you in the PL soon. There really is only one Nigel Adkins.
  25. You mention the visitor centre during the SMS build - I was in there one day in 2000 and lo and behold all of our top brass waltzed in with all of the Leicester City top brass and spent about an hour discussing every detail. Shortly after that Leicester committed to their near identical new stadium. Probably the design cost were shared to keep prices down?
