  1. I think he did it just to take the p*** out of that prat Klopp who is a glory hunter always trying to draw attention to himself on the pitch. bet his players get p***ed off with his antics and histrionics.
  2. Not next week it's the "international break" (cue fanfare of trumpets).
  3. Come off it, both have failed spectacularly after being hyped to the point of ridiculousness. They are has-been journeymen and Championship players at best.
  4. Les will already know as his black box is great at succession planning. Could be Mourinho of course but more likely some unknown guy plying his trade in Portugal. Its worked before.
  5. The fact that he stayed with us for so long suggests he is quite a sensitive and loyal young man and must be going through his own mini misery hell right now. No doubt he will have reviewed in his mind whether he should have stayed here after all rather than be lured away by the fading glamour of a once big club. He will come good again 'though once he is working with people who make him feel valued and settled, that isn't what van Gaal is offering right now. Like other contributors I do sense that he will end up with Spurs under Poch or under Koeman wherever Koeman ends up next - Arsenal?
  6. Very mean spirited Blakey, of course it will be fantastic for English football and the Premier League in particular if Leicester and Tottenham finish 1,2 in either order. Great for fans everywhere and a real spur to all those also rans who habitually haunt the relegation region of the PL or the upper echelons of the Championship.
  7. Yep! Probably the only way to look at it. Any points from that lot in the current circumstances will be a real bonus.
  8. Very much in the shop window now, accident or planned?
  9. He has that rare quality of causing a buzz of excitement every time he gets on the ball. Who else can light the place up the way he does? The only downside is his own recklessness in never shirking a 50/50 ball which on day might be his physical undoing - but without that commitment he wouldn't be Shane Long. We must just accept he will miss a few games here and there though injury. He was the same at his former clubs and used to terrify me just by being in the opposition's starting line up.
  10. Hope that is irony otherwise just a daft comment to make.
  11. Mason gave us very little except cards today yet did nothing against the Stoke's bully boys at the back for worse tackles than Clasie's and of course the Mane decision should earn Mason a three-match ban and a return to the championship. Had it been Oscar or Hazard instead of Tadic we'd have been given a penalty and Butland would have received a red. Funny old game when you win but bloody frustrating as hell if you lose as well.
  12. We looked comfortable in defence and rarely troubled. Martina is not better than Cedric and their goal came from his absence from position. Good to see Pelle back on form and Tadic just seems to lack self belief in front of goal. We played a slower game today and that helped with our build-ups. Still a bit laboured and sloppy 'though so we must hope Liverpool have an off day.
  13. Jayrod appears to have been fully engaged in training yesterday with tackles flying in. Good news indeed.
  14. That happens every week, everywhere. Not all prices are the same at St Mary's. The legal precedent is exactly the opposite of what you suggest.
  15. They were no worse than us yesterday so not sure what match you were watching? It is pretty obvious to most that Sam Allardyce has distilled a good sense of fight, determination, cohesion and solidity into a squad that one year ago couldn't muster there passes in a row or get out of their own half and shipped goals by the bucket load. If that's not down to him tell us what other miracle has occurred at the Stadium of Light?
  16. Let's start from the premise that Hodgson doesn't have a clue about modern Premier League level football. He is rooted in the past along with his sidekick . Still thinks WBA used to play beautiful football when he was there.
  17. Imagine even a factory nowadays, probably the young generation has never heard of them. Terry used to run a greengrocers shop in Shirley High Street in the early seventies and was always outside the shop on fine days chatting to passers by. Good trips down memory lane even then. Not quite up there with George Best but mighty close on his day. He used to run riot at the Dell when in form and it was awesome to watch in the true sense of that now over-used word.
  18. Is there any significance in the number 30?
  19. Crikey FF you are depressing me now and I started the day thinking last night was just a blip. Let me lighten up your day, a gypsy fortune teller told me we will win 4-0 on Saturday.
  20. Mane's form is hard to explain. If any of the rumours about him moving on are true than you'd have thought he'd be busting a gut to turn in great performances just to stay in the focus of the big clubs. Right now he seems unable to run past an opponent or time his runs or passes properly even when he is on the ball. He is the sort of player that you think you'd always want in your team as he will produce a moment of magic to transform a game. I for one and always disappointed when he is not in the starting XI. Yet when his chance comes again he seems unable to take it. Is it that opponents have got wise to his tricks and double up on making him every week or is it that he has always flattered to deceive and that's why he plied his craft in Austria rather than Spain or Germany before we signed him. It could be that gifted players like him are inherently selfish on the ball and our coaches in their wisdom have encouraged him to become more of a team player and now when he gets the ball he longer knows what to do. His success may have been born of his selfishness and now that has been coached out of him he has nothing special left to offer?
  21. Always look on the bright side of life, if he's as bad as you say then at least he won't get poached by a top half team. I guess he was as perplexed as anybody last night it is not often a whole team of players have a stinker at the same time. No question letting in those two late goals against Chelsea has shattered fragile confidence and morale in on feel swoop. Maybe the back three thought Forster impregnable but after two shaky performances from the big man that may no longer be the case.
  22. The BBC are so institutionally prejudiced against Southampton FC that I stopped listening to any of their so-called expert pundits years ago. It's amazing what you can do with a volume control and Fast Forward. Just watch the game action and then MUTE and make some coffee. I mean, does anybody actually listen to Shearer? Even Linnekar seems mildly embarrassed every time the clown opens his mouth.
  23. Gate income is so insignificant now compared to the new TV money coming in that it is very unlikely the ground will ever be expanded. As long as the TV cameras see only packed terraces in their restricted field of view that's all they and the owners care about. As Ronald keeps banging on, competition for places makes everyone keener to get in on the action so for players read spectators. The only response to "Full House" boards every week will be higher prices!
