I am very happy with the current standard of refereeing and the small number of truly controversial incidents is far out weighed by the millions of good decisions made routinely at every game by the officials when most people in the crowd have no idea what is going on. Considering the vile abuse directed at referees by home crowds in pretty much every game one can only marvel that there are enough stout hearted individuals who will take the job on in the first place e and for what, a pittance in footballing terms compared to what all the diving and moaning so-called stars get paid for being offensive. High time people laid off referees and pointed the finger at the real architects of their misery, under performing coaches and players.

Dead right, this year's run-in for the Championship promises to be sensational and watching is compulsive. Best advice for everyone is skip MotD and watch the Football League Show instead, you will not regret it. This is how we remember football at its best.

Would any of us rejoice if Luke Shaw fails at Man U? I don't think we should really. The biggest loser will be Luke himself who failed to realise that he was part of a highly successful system and that he should have thought about more than money when he moved on, like, is this team playing in a way that suits what I know and can do and have learned so far? Problem with money is that perhaps last year's man U were the only club prepared to pay him what he wanted. What happens then if Man U off-load him in the summer, who would take him at his price? He could even end up going out on loan. He may not be the only one who left hastily for money only to maybe regret it later. Clyne is a good fit in our system but would he really be any better than average elsewhere especially at OT where there is as far as one can tell no discernible style of play other than to lump it up to Fellani? Of course the irony of Clyne's situation is that we let Chabers go in the belief that we were lucky enough to have an even better prospect on-board only to lose both of them in the end. Maybe Mason will be the answer?

If we finish 7th which now seems likely will the board see this as a crucial re-building season achievement ready for a real onslaught for a CL place next year or a diabolical failure on the part of Koeman and his team. Reaching the PL would be an amazing feat for Bournemouth and would be a real smack in the eye for all those pundits that claim that parachute payments guarantees that the same few clubs will keep yo-yo-ing between the lower reaches of the PL and the upper tier of the Championship and let's face it , it also a long time since Middlesborough and Derby were up there. Mind you it also raises the question of where all that money went to if it didn't get used to return bigger clubs immediately to the top flight.

The whole point of these exercises apart from the more obvious bonding opportunity is to push players way beyond their comfort zone and to take risks that normally they would not take to prove to them that they can do things that normally they would be scared of doing, that the only thing to fear is fear itself, fear of not knowing. Few if any of the players appear to have been on ice skates or skis before and probably like you would be scared of falling over, getting hurt or making a right tit of themselves in front of their pals. They have taken unusual risks mainly not to lose face - safety in numbers - and have come out of it intact physically and with pride. Nobody feels like a tit, in fact many will glow with pride. The have proved to themselves that after all they could do things they never thought they could. Highly motivational and expect a reaction against Chelsea. PS ...and OK wags, they'll all fall flat on their Arses in the penalty area! Just joking.

There is another aspect about this that doesn't get mentioned on here and that is 'fame' in the way that everyone in the world knows of and instantly recognises Ronaldo, Messi, Fabregas or Iniesta. Maybe that is a higher goal for very gifted players who have amassed more money than they could ever spend. Fame must be a factor in even being considered for e.g. high level awards of FIFA such as Player of the Year. Maybe Morgan would like to be household name around the world and not just in Northam.

Time wasting? Crap Referees? Parking the Bus? These are reasons why we are no longer scoring goals an winning games? Come off it lads, these are nothing more than pathetic excuses for poor play on our part. Fact is we seem clueless at braking down packed defences and most teams in the PL have good enough players to defend well these days. The real problem as we know is our attackers just aren't performing at the level needed to break down defences. What worries me is that is beginning to look the same week in week out, we don't seem to learn anything new on the training ground like Pelle becoming mobile and running in behind defenders or out to the flanks to draw the CBs away from the centre in the way that Lambert learned to do when he was man make out of the game.
