Do SISA or The Trust speak for you, yes or no
Charlie Wayman replied to Toomer's topic in The Saints
I do not understand why the Echo should continue to seek and publish the ill-informed views of the publicity seeking SISA ranter Illingsworth who poses as the voice of the people but in fact is the voice only of one lonely poorly informed ranter who has zero access to the club and no public audience beyond his own living room. Time to "Shut Up!" Illingsworth and get yourself a real job that might occupy all your apparently well hidden talents. -
Lambert and Hammond will be off as soon as AP calls, Schneiderlin and Lallana will want out in January because their skill deserves another level of both football and managers. Butterscotch and Puncheon should resign before they embarrass themselves anymore. I'd keep Harding, Chamberlayne and Barnard - the rest can go. Sorry, Adders old boy, best to do what Jan did and play the reserves, they couldn't be any worse!

I expressed my exactly similar sentiments last week and have received torrents of abuse ever since but I'm with you all the way. It was evident to all with eyes and a brain that during pre-season and the gutless, inept performances against Argyle and Orient that half our blokes weren't fit, weren't bothered and weren't up for it. Too many are being sufficiently over-paid on long enough contracts to be in their own personal comfort zones. At the end of the day most out there now are kids having a bonanza day at our expense entering the twilight of their careers. Trouble with many on here is that "they can't stand the truth". I'm not fussed about the why's and wherefore's of AP's sacking 'though, it was inevitable sooner or later because of the well reported lack of empathy between the two men for some time. No doubt a recent single event will have been excuse enough for the club to finally swing the axe and end the impasse. Remember during the first two games Pardew sat it out in the dugout for most of the first halves and when eventually he made it into the technical area, stood there largely motionless with arms folded, what did that tell us? By the time Adkins has bedded himself in and worked out who's for him and who's against, it'll be Christmas and he will need all of next spring to engineer yet another 'Great Escape' with a rebuilt team.

You get what you pay for, we do it on the cheap we get cheap results. Get ready for life in Division 4, it'll be interesting as we haven't been that far down before. Can't happen? Luton used to be in Division 1... say no more.
-
He's talked the talk so let's see if he can walk the walk tonight. if we get beaten 3-0 I winder what the pro-Adkins lobby will say tomorrow?
-
or the opposite of course
-
Nobody gave him a tough time 'though. What happened to the seacrching questions that make people squirm in their chairs. Invite 15, they feel special, sell them the 'poor me' routine and off they go, pleased as punch! Works every time. Go along and listen by all means but make sure you shove your tongue up your cheek and not elsewhere.

PS Last post should read "The only problem with this line..."
-
The only problem with this lie is that we know that the informed soccer press are widely castigating Cortese for his absolute lack of understanding of football and how it works, he is not in the network and has never been in football before so it is unlikely in the extreme that he'll know waht it takes to make a good football manager and ev less how then to develop him to get the best from him. If it was otherwise, Alan Pardew would still be here and I wouldn't be depressed with migraine! Just a footnote to those well wishers who think I'm forsaking Saints to watch the gooners... I am not! After this summer's fiasco and the total lack of competitiveness in the PL and increasingly the other leagues, I'm done with "pro-soccer" and will be watching Esatleigh.
-
So I am one of the 7.93% who thinks this is a disaster for Saints and typically another deal done on the cheap. I'll stick to my prediction that this is a sticking plaster job so that Cortese can tie up all the loos ends before he clears off in January with the club up for sale thereafter. I don't give a monkey's that most of you think I'm a grumpy bastard who is hard to please, this is the worse possible outcome of all the far more exciting options that supposedly were open to us - what happened to the other 49? - in any case I'm not mug enough to keep paying scarce dosh to support this regime any more. I've already posted my request for a refund on my ST for what' s left of this season. I'm out of here and good luck to all of you guys who have been suckered into believing the club bull**** that this was the "best possible appointment". Oh! come on the blokes only been in management for 5 minutes so it is bound to end in tears but then neither Cortese or I will be around to give a ****. Sad day but everything comes to an end... Adieu!
-
He'll soon be off, gone by February I wouldn't mind betting. We are in the sh*te with nobody on hand to rescue us this time. Long time since I felt so cheated.

Relegation Looms! Unthikable? Think again.

Nigel Adkins will take charge of S****horpe United's match tomorrow
Charlie Wayman replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
You said it. They whacked us 3-0 at home so could be a drubbing up there. -
A somewhat elegant turn of phrase. You seem to have been excelling yourself on this thread. It is hard to determine your problem with other people but boy you do have some issues. Most readers will still be looking up 'pikey' on Wiki, it's certainly not a word that one has encountered amongst the polite society of the Itchen. It emphasises the wide diversity of people who label themselves as Saints fans. Remember the mantra "Live and let live!"
-
Crikey! Did you hear that excerpt of Adkins on Solent this morning? The bloke can't even speak grammatically correct English on this evidence.
-
Adkins has NOT signed - and may not do so now either !!!
Charlie Wayman replied to St.Patrik's topic in The Saints
Thank goodness! For one minute it looked like we really had appointed this Johnny No-name. Ambitious club? You can be sure of one thing and you need to think very carefully about this, if Adkins is appointed it proves once and for all that he is the cheap sticking plaster Cortese needs to stop the roof leaking before he clears off in the new year. It's a simple and very obvious equation Adkins IN = Cortese OUT (and the Liebherr account) I guess you think I'm mad and a miserable sod but take heed and be warned. As always, be careful what you are wishing for right now 'cos they haven't stopped making movies about Rupert yet. " Third Time Lucky?" may be coming to a cinema near you soon, after which Cortese will have seemed like a gift from heaven. -
Maybe somebody can post a photo of this geezer - must confess, I don't have a clue what he looks like and wouldn't know him if he sat opposite me all the way down to Southampton. To be fair it's almost impossible to be certain who you think you might have seen in public even when you think it's somebody famous. In real life people rarely look like their images in the media.

Usual load of uninformed bull**** about announcements today, where is it?
-
I'm sure one of the very clever people on here will explain how it is humanly possible to interview "50 candidates" and announce a result in less than a week. Something doesn't add up and smells very fishy. Maybe closer to the truth is that they had only three applicants who showed any interest at all in joining this mad-house of a managerial merry-go-round and all the rest of it sis pure undiluted bull****. In which case it probably is a straight choice between Adkins and Howe. If that makes you uncomfortable spare a thought for fans like me who are very, depressed at such a prospect.
-
Before we all start accepting the of Adkins being a good appointment, always remember that this is Saints and every decision in our history bar about one was based on the maxim "who's the cheapest we can get?" If it is Adkins then we have an even bigger skinflint running the show than Wupert ever was. Still he will be a good bet to get us out of the Fourth Division in 2012-13 if he isn't fired in the meantime. I'm afraid the capture of KK back in the 70's was one of those strange events of history that defy logical explanation and will never be repeated let alone here in old S'ampton Town.

Here we go again, the mysterious Premiership manager is Mark Hughes... I know this as fact and when he turns up on Thursday, I'll answer all your questions. Until then I am bound by the Chatham House rules of Confidentiality.

It's not OUR club anymore, once it was bought up privately it became the expensive plaything of the owner, nothing more nothing less. B*llacks to all the revisionist "fans are important" rhetoric being churned out on the OS with the same monotonous regularity as Saints banging balls "up the channels" in the vain hope that some bright spark up front might fancy chasing after one. Who do you think you are kidding Mr Cortese? Fans have been systematically sidelined and marginalised under this regime so that your views and mine are worth the candle any more and if you don't like it do what i am doing VOTE WITH YOUR FEET! Once the revenue dries up you'll be surprised how quickly things will change. And will it really matter if this lot sells up and moves out? We're not excatly spending like Man C or Chelsea so we can't be that flush, debt-free for sure and grateful for it but floating on cash? I don't think so.

Few rumours and rumblings...
Charlie Wayman replied to forever a red and white's topic in The Saints
Here is a rumour you can believe. I will not be attending another match until this mess is sorted, which means a new and respected manager in place and the team firing on all cylinders and that cretin Wilkins nowhere to be seen. Yep! it means my ST will be wasted each week, so what, that's life but what's the point of watching ***** if no pleasure is derived from it. If the wrong manager is appointed, i.e., somebody with zero reputation and zero experience then I'll be phoning in for a refund on the balance and be off for good. At my age there are plenty of other things to waste my money on, it's time that is precious and at the moment waht is going on up at SMS is a complete waste of ******* time. -
Once again all eyes will be on the royal box to see who's been sneaked in by Snr Cortese for a butcher's. Last week as some know but many may not it was the Lloyd Webber brothers (FACT by the way) but before rumours spread about takeovers and selecting our team on a TV show, they sat in the 'O's' bit of the box not ours. Nevertheless, don't be surprised if somebody shows up in a Phantom mask....
-
Of course they're going to tell anybody who calls in, without even a rudimentary check on who they are and why they need to know. Honestly mate if that 's the best you can come up with, I'd stick to selling balloons in the Above Bar precinct
