  1. Welcome to the club, hope you have a great career here. We will all get behind you once we all get over the shock of today's other news - sure you can understand.
  2. Thanks Nigel for all you've done for The Saints. I loved the positivity you always showed but also kept everybody grounded - draw a line under each result, learn from it, move on to the next one. All the best for the future
  3. Madness. Just can't believe it. Thanks to NA for all his great work
  4. Guly could be another autograph on my Saints convict shirt ... member of family works for the probation service and gets their autographs for me.
  5. Was hoping for something yesterday, but when you think about it Wigan were THE form team at the back end of last season, so if we have nothing after 4 games I won't be surprised. Really hope we are very busy in the transfer market next week as we need to strengthen and really believe we will
  6. Great performance this afternoon - keep performing like that and we should be ok this season
  7. Can't believe this, really thought we'd get spanked today ... and it's my birthday.
  8. I'm hoping to pay on the night too - doing some work down there at the moment
  9. What about Henessey at Wolves or Bogdan from Bolton?
  10. I'd rather be where we are than Reading or West Ham, but still incredibly nervous ... I keep expecting it to all go horribly wrong.
  11. I've voted for champions. Really, really hope we achieve it - would be great to celebrate in this part of Hampshire :-)
  12. I remember that game against Newcastle - when the 3rd one went in I was standing on my chair screaming incoherently and I knew that we were going to stay up from that point onwards.
  13. Chapel for me when I can get there
  14. Still 8 pages short of the Lee thread and we got him in the end ...
  15. Thanks for the hahasports link, managed to watch the last 15 minutes or so. We looked really good - need to carry it forward and we've got some season defining matches coming up in the next few weeks - Leicester, West Ham, Cardiff and Birmingham. If we're on song and fully fit we should be OK, but I've been watching Saints too long to be relaxed about them.
  16. I'll take some of the blame for last night, as it was my first match since we beat Huddersfield 4-1 at home last season. I'll stay away until we win promotion Have to agree with the people saying lay off Guly, there were a couple of people behind me in the Chapel stand last night moaning at him for everything - including a clearance he didn't get that went at least 15 yards away from him - Superman would have struggled to get to it. There were a number of players who were off form last night but only Guly got moaned at. For one it looked to me that Rickie Lambert was off song last night and wasn't making a lot of effort to jump for clearances in his direction - OK the defender was always tight to him, but I thought he could have drawn a few more fouls if he'd wanted to. Haveto say though that he did produce a great chest control, swivel and volley in the second half that James did well to beat out. A disappointing end to 2011 as a result, but if somebody had told me at the start of 2011 that we'd be top of hte Championship for a good part of 2011 (and hopefully still there tonight at the end of 2011) I'd not have believed them.
  17. There was a group of us at school that had a league running for quite a while. I think I won the league a couple of times but Rose tinted glasses may be affecting my memory!!
  18. Everyone seems to have forgotten that he did go on loan to West Ham last season (2nd half of it if I remember rightly) and I seem to recall him having a few shockers and being blamed for some of their defeats - maybe after that experience he's decided that it has to be the right loan move for him to go out on loan again.
  19. I thought the choice of picture, timing of replays, etc was often poor and really showed how good Sky are, but there was lots of verbal abuse and hand jestures from the crowd in a lot of close ups which may well have influenced the directors choices. Have to say though they should have expected it.
  20. Excellent news.
  21. Great result. Thought Saturday might have been the start of the slippery slope, especially at half time tonight, but now quietly confident again ... especially if it really does go pear shaped at Nottarf Krap!
  22. Just heard too. Tragic news.
  23. I think football really should take a leaf out of rugby union when it comes to referee's and match officials in general. I heard a really interesting interview on radio 5 live at the weekend with the welsh player who kicked the penalty that wasn't awarded as a score - although he was so sure it was going over he'd walked away he didn't argue, dispute or make bad comments about the officials at any time. I thought at the time how different that was to the Lampard 'goal' at the world cup last year.
  24. Shocking news. Wishing Dan a speedy recovery. Hope they get the people responsible too - no excuses for incidents like this.
  25. RIP Deano. Sad and tragic news.
