  1. Disagree with the idea. It was right for Wembley. How about we have the Russian anthem for the plane in Sinai, the Kenyan, the Palestinian (if they have one), Lebanon? Think we're doing a minutes silence as well. Getting to the stage where it would be good to go to a game without any such thing.

Classic case of good coach, crap manager.
  3. Better to remember the Wallace brothers...Poor Ray had two better brothers. Then there are the Nevilles, they even have a better sister Charltons...
  4. is anyone making out that Butland will be the weak link? He has been in tremendous form so far this season for Stoke, and has kept them in games several times. He is probably their best player and may well push Hart out of the England #1 spot soon if he continues (or if he were at one of the Big Clubs). Forster will be hard pressed to reclaim the England #2 keeper position when he gets back to fitness.
  5. I can imagine one or two football league chairmen doing it, but not Premier League ones. Anyway, nice story, but the answers to the outstanding questions were?

Really. To have canvassed the minority or the majority would have been ridiculous and inept management, the Board needed to make a decision based on experience. Thank goodness the Board did push back on Lowe's stupid idea, he had a consistent track record of poor appointments other than WGS and Hoddle with Gorman. Hoddle was already a spent force, and without John Gorman proved himself to be incapable of decent football management. There is a reason why he remains to this day a (poor) pundit.
  7. The name Walters rings a bell, Whelan also in Ireland's team. Young chap called Butland at Wembley last night. Diouf with Mane, Cameron in the USA. Arnautavic and Shaqiri for Austria and Switzerland. May be more.
  8. "Nobody in England outside of Hampshire wants to learn from us but in the US they are very interested and we'll jump into that opportunity." So much for the Bath Satellite, where several of our best players have started, including Bale of course. I think there is a great deal of scope outside of Hampshire, Somerset, Wiltshire, Dorset and the Isle of Wight at least have nothing on the level of Saints and all are easily within our catchment area.
  9. You realise what you quoted was about the first Ajax friendly in Holland in the previous international break. IIRC he did subsequently get called up during that break after Krul was injured.
  10. Such garbage that they are top of their league.
  11. Virgil had already withdrawn

    No.
  13. No. Not seen since he was on the bench v Boscombe. Missing from all training galleries etc.
  14. I don't really care that much, but still wondering what has become of Gaston. He seems to have vanished.
  15. Pelle dismisses exit rumours... http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/14034521.Pelle_dismisses_Southampton_exit_talk/?ref=mac except he doesn't...
  16. The Sun seems to have picked up on this as well, largely the same stuff https://www.dreamteamfc.com/c/pelles-days-at-southampton-may-well-be-numbered/

  18. So you can't read my follow ups either.... Still not really too sure what the point about the i was anyway?
  19. Still don't get it then... Sad really, always a sure sign when people start childish name calling...
  20. Still a total turkey, and on the post Poch/Koeman watch. They will always happen no matter who is in charge, whether you want to blame Cortese and/or Poch or just accept that everyone makes mistakes, and mistakes will occur in the future, just as they have in the past.

  22. The long trip to Cardiff to play 45 minutes must have left him shattered. Think your source might be as unreliable as an unreliable thing.
