  1. Not only are they knock-off jobs but they have no connection with the British Legion. If the people who had knocked these out had any understanding they would know that the poppy leaf should be at "11 o'clock" as were the official Saints/legion ones for sale in the MegaStore. Don't touch these EBay ones with a bargepole.
  2. I assumed it was Kelv...
  3. Long back in full training. Fonte also training and Cedric seems at last to have been able to dispense with his eye plaster/bandage. No sign of J-Rod. Video on Twitter.
  4. Don't know, whatever he was smoking maybe? Davis had the armband from the start of the half. Seem to recall it was even announced, or maybe that was on MOTD2 or SNF or something. Just checked on MOTD2 on iPlayer, around 27.53, skippers armband clearly seen on Davis left arm (just after Stanislav's shot deflects off Yoshida)
  5. What about if we play like we did in first half against Bournemouth and like we did in the second half against Leicester? I think we'll win this by not scoring in the 1st hakf.
  6. Sometimes think it would be a good idea to delete all the history on this forum. Then we wouldn't get turnips like Chief Mong digging up posts just to pick an argument with decent posters. Some people just seem so dense that they cannot understand that something that may have been true at a moment in time can change, and hence opinions change. The forum thread history just seems to give dullards like this the opportunity to pick an argument and make this forum ever less pleasant. seems to me that FF's post was quite reasonable and his later updates to the thread more so, but unfortunately one of our less enlightened brethren can't deal with this.
  7. But the point is, they did threaten us, but their threat was woeful because they could not get any of their shots on target. We were just very fortunate that we played so badly, letting them overrun us and giving them opportunities that even a moderately decent team would have taken advantage of, but we got away with it not because of any great stuff from us but because they were so poor in front of goal. Letting a team like Bournemouth have 16 attempts on goal is amazingly inept. It would only have taken a lucky deflection or something to have put us in trouble.
  8. Never been a problem with Saints players has it?
  9. Not that many "Brits" in the current Southampton team (outside of the Academy). At least most Brits don't waste their time and potentially harm their teeth with the overuse of whiteners like some do stereotypically.
  10. The concerns about our debt seem to be somewhat over egged, as it seems that we are owed £55m by other clubs for transfers (and remember this does not include Morgan or Clyne's transfers), though of course it also does not include what we have paid for the likes of VvD and anyone else we brought in after the end of June.
  11. This bit was interesting: This might feel like an unrealistic aspiration for Southampton, but it is clearly in the long-term plans of the club’s hierarchy, as chairman Ralph Krueger outlined: “People tell us it’s not possible, with our budget and our infrastructure. We believe it is.” Executive director Les Reed was equally bullish, “We’d like to think we have the structure to (reach the Champions League) in the next five years.” When Cortese said we planned to reach the Champions League he was laughed at by some on here and we were told that it was impossible for our club and that we should be satisfied with being also rans in mid-table. Ralph and especially Les think it is a reasonable aspiration within the next 5 years. Apart from allowing a few more years than Cortese the goal is the same.
  12. OK then, lets not worry about how crap we played and how we seem to be consistently now playing like this when we have a lead. It will all be alright on the night.
  13. But they did threaten. They had 16 shots during the game (guessing that 14 of them were in the 2nd half). They had plenty of chances as we let them come on to us. We were very fortunate in that they are a team at the moment who can't hit a barn door, hence only 2 were on target. If one of those chances had been converted then we would probably have been in big trouble. Leicester had an amazing 27 shots against us in the previous home game, with 7 on target. For all of the hype about Vardy and the leicester attack, they actually had a very poor shots to goal ratio in that game. Bottom line is that our second half performances have been appalling in these last 2 home games, sitting back, inviting the opposition on, panic in defence, forgetting our passing game. I really find it hard to believe that anyone seriously thinks these performances were acceptable in any way.
  14. Hopefully we stick to our guns of not doing business with Spuds and he stays with us.
  15. Don't think being in Europe would have made a jot of difference to our League and LC form since. Losing in the Qualifiers was just stupid and unnecessary.
  16. But he didn't go off against Leicester...
  17. So you are saying that we are no good when teams change their players. Really don't buy this, its been clear from several games, that something changes when we have a lead, whether its at half-time or not. We start to sit back and invite the opposition on. Ronald alluded to it, but claimed it was because we can't keep the tempo up for 90 minutes, though this does not explain Villa. It really is frustrating, it does not need us to win 4, 5, 6 nil, but at least we should try to carry on playing, are we unable to cope with changes to the way our opposition play. Better teams will beat us with second half performances lie we are putting in. Some really stupid comments from a few to the original perfectly reasonable question, if you can't see the problem then I don't know what you are thinking. We don't moan when we win, we didn't win against Leiceter, very lucky not to have lost, very lucky not to have at least conceded yesterday, our fortune was that Boscombe have no-one at the moment capable of scoring.
  18. The ability to tackle and defend, to see and complete a pass, pace, he can even head the ball well, despite his diminutive size. Haven't seen yet what he can do with a dead ball, but then Prowsey's ability in this department is over-hyped. It was amusing yesterday to consider yesterday our much-vaunted Academy and ability to bring young players through. For most of the game there was only one Academy player on the pitch, and he was playing for Bournemouth. Only Prowsey on the bench as well. Only one English player in our team (Bertrand), how things have changed since 2013/4, when we were seen as the model for English football and youth development.
  19. That was Davis... Thought Clasie was good yesterday. First hal at least. Now looks fit which has made the difference. Took a knock 2nd half but was tiring anyway. Beginning to see why Ronald was keen to get him.
  20. Great first half, shockingly bad second half. That was the worst 2nd half performance since Leicester. I really don't buy this Leicester/Boscombe were great second half. ********. We bring it on ourselves, and I don't understand why. Luckily today Boscombe had no-one of the quality of Mahrez or Vardy to hurt us.
  21. The first was his 4th, so now he is on 5. Definitely misses the next game. He was one of our best players today, but silly challenge for his second yellow.
  22. Don't forget how many assists he has... Happy Birthday Prowsey
  23. Was surprised he played on Wednesday after the knocks he took against Liverpool. Wouldn't be surprised if he was rested for Sunday Cedric's eye still seems to be an issue, taking a long time to heal...
